The first Stones tour that I got to see a piece of and I can still feel the energy that hit me when I actually was witnessing The Rolling Stones live! Every time they've toured it's gotten bigger and more spectacular, but I'd rather just the guys played without backing musicians and stage props. The only thing that we fans really need is the music. And that's all we've ever needed. I hope that we'll have the chance to see them again soon. Long live 'The Stones'...

@Jesus Christ SuperStar He always plays guitar on a few songs each live ahow, and most people are surprised, and most think he cant play. He actually wrote Brown Sugar on guitar, came up with the riffs and, but Keith did the studio recording.

Mick Jagger is the front man of front men. There is no one else like him and there never will be again. Same goes for Keith. Two peas in a pod-a genre all their own. They wrote the book.

@@oliverkalamata2753 Plant's voice has changed quite a bit with age. Mick's voice has been very consistent the last 30 years. He cleaned up his drug use and became more health oriented. I think he wanted to protect that body and the voice. He did it so far.

The Stones are primarily a reverent Blues group...Mick loves trends and Keith doesn't like to.stray much. Their greatness comes from being a rock n roll band. Roll is the most unique part. They are not Metal or Heavy. The Roll comes Charlie, he is inspired by.Jazz and Swing music. Together they have a base to sniff genres of many types, but always have that Roll that is The Stones.
@stevemarino5745
@stevemarino5745 5 лет назад
The Stones last great album, and my favorite. Watching this you're blown away by how good they really were, and how the whole punk movement started here. Not the music, the Stones could actually play and sing, but their sneers, the movements, the off the wall energy even in a rehearsal, that whole attitude came right from them.

I love the Stones but to call his guitar playing "intricate" or " VERY good" is a bit of a stretch. Most can easily play this Chuck Berry 12 bar two string jam within 6 months to a year of picking up a guitar. Personally, I wish he had have tackled the harmonica work on Miss You and the song Some Girls instead of having Sugar Blue play on the recordings. All in all, he certainly did the main lifting for the band during this period.

So fun to see this. As a young kid, my folks let me stay up late to see the Stones on this SNL show and I was puzzled and actually a bit disappointed then to hear Mick's voice so raspy. And yet here in rehearsals...sounded like good old Mick. As I understand it..there was a bit too much partying before the actual show "Air Time" that killed his voice. Too bad....I think this was only US regular TV show performance ever (I don't think Sullivan counted as was mimed?) Someone please feel free to fill in my gaps and gaffes.....

If you are suggesting that Ron Wood is 1/2 the guitarist that Mick Taylor is, you are sadly mistaken. Looks like a rolling stone, hear he's a great guy, but you probably personally know a dozen better players. Respectable and Lies are 12-bar-blues for chrissakes! Yes it was a great album, but the rawness was a trendy salute to punk (except for the disco number, and the country number).
