Many say Mick Taylor is the greatest rock/blues guitarist that the UK ever produced. Hard to argue with that.

Mick Taylor - best Stones guitarist ever. What a genius. Nobody in the band will ever surpass his genius and technical know how. No sticky fingers song should ever be played again without him. This made it so glaringly obvious. The Stones now sound better than they have in years. Keep taking him on tour and give him a fat paycheck - he deserves it. After all he was, is and always will be a Stone!!!!!

Toronto, you are some lucky folks to get to witness this!!! Mick Taylor jamming with the Stones is the closest to Nirvana anyone can get! 😇

To see Keith and Ronnie staring, completely awe struck by what they were witnessing. And Keith clapping for his former partner is truly a wonderful moment. That was a guitar solo on steroids! Great footage of the greatest musician ever in the Stones lineup. And Keith and Ronnie are fantastic in their own right, but Mick Taylor is beyond!

Finally Mick Taylor's massive talent and bluesy licks recognized. Considering the state of the band when that song was recorded, amazing it came to pass.

what makes mick taylor a pleasure to listen to is the way he puts it all together, there are loads of brilliant guitarists out there, but a lot are just flashy and boring, but mick taylor puts it all in such a way that its just a pleasure, and you end up wishing he would just go on and on.

God Bless Mick Taylor. What a guy. His contributions post Brian Jones are nothing less than fabulous. Although that cat wasn't a multi instrumented musician as his predecessor was, his killer guitar playing was in league of his own . Richards is a good guitar player but Mick T. is a GREAT guitar player and this video is a great reference point to that.
@thomasjensen3214
@thomasjensen3214 6 лет назад
Well Mick T is a great slide player as well, a good bass player, plays piano as well. All on a much higher level than Brian, who only played odd bits on different instruments. He did not master them. Certainly not a multiinstrumentalist. That is Mike Oldfield!!!

People have said it for decades, that the best stuff the Stones ever did was when Taylor was in the band and the man proves it right there. He was so underrated because of the hysterical adulation for Clapton, Page etc, but this bloke could PLAY! The most precise and melodic of the guitarists of his generation, he deserved a lot more than the sometimes shabby treatment he got while in the Stones.

I was able to see Mr. Taylor in a club much after he was a Stone, doing what he loved - the Blues. I kept loudly between songs demanding, "Can't you hear me knocking! Can't you hear me knocking!" hoping I would hear him with his band play this song with this trademark solo. Finally at break, I got to him up close and pleaded, "Can't you hear me knocking, Mick?" which he immediately responded with, "I heard ya talkin' all through the set." I still hear his voice. Some confrontations must be cherished forever.

shattered No they don't. I think it's a little bit of professional jealousy. I know from what Mick Taylor has stated, Keith Richards has been jealous of Mick Taylor for years. Kind of a mixture of respect, friendship, and jealousy. Who wouldn't be jealous though. Mick is such a great player when he's at the top of his game.

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Mick T in the foyer of the Langham Hotel in Auckland NZ on the stones down under leg of their 50 and counting tour in 2014. He was an absolute gent, and would have to be one of the most tasteful guitarists out there.
@jupitorious7925

Mick Taylor such a gentleman at the end.. ! He is there for the music, and it was such a nice live solo, unfortunately Keith and Ronnie would never of been able to have produced this quality of solo live. He stole the show and they really knew it, he would not have given the rock and roll mayhem that Keith and Ronnie give but he is definitely the missing piece in good music. The best Stones albums are with Mr Taylor, with out a doubt, those who disagree normally do not play an instrument.. in my opinion

Charlie---It is one thing to be a soloist, it is another to be a member of a band. MT maybe one of the greatest guitar soloists in the rock world, however that does not make him a great team player in a rock band. The Rolling Stones are the Greatest Rock and Roll Band Eva and one reason is they all play their roles perfectly. Taylor wanted more than that so he quit the band. That should be understood by ALL.

This song has a history to it that is very interesting. it was supposed to fade out at about 5.30 mins when recording, but Keith and Mick T were still playing because it sounded good and not realizing they were still being recorded,all quickly picked up their instruments and started playing again and ended up being a 7.00 minutes plus song with the song and Jam (that they left as it was) at the end.(on the album 'Sticky Fingers' you can hear the 'mistake' at about 5.30 minutes) Google it it explains it all there.

Mick T is really saying something here, This is my solo, and always was! I am a big fan of 'The Stones', but (Mick J and Keith really treated him like shit when he was with them, great stuff Mick! I have seen MT play with his old band 'John Mayall And the Blues Breakers' with John Mcvei from Fleetwood Mac.. Colin Allen, former drummer from 'Stone The crows' In Adelaide, Australia just after MT left 'The Stones' in 1980 something?? and they were brilliant. If by definition a 'Super Group' are members who are from successful Bands or projects, which they all were! and all ex 'Blues Breakers' members, does it make them a 'Super Group' or just Blues Breakers re-united? I also saw 'The Stones' in Adelaide in 1990-91' and I have seen hundreds of bands but must say they were the best and most professional band I have ever seen,The reason they keep touring is there is no one to pass the torch to. (IMO)
