As everyone here stated, the APU (auxiliary power unit) is a smaller turbine that powers aircraft electrical systems and has the role of also starting the engine. On a multi-engine aircraft, the pilots can also use one already started and idling engine to start the other engine(s) by directing that engine's bleed air. Other ways of starting jet engines include compressed air or even a V8 engine that is temporarily mechanically connected, usually called a start cart or something similar.
I love watching your videos! I like seeing the power of the blast behind the engine and the spinups. I'm not demanding anything, but seeing someone pour some water from a bottle over the blasting gas would be kinda cool too. Again your videos are a treat!
WHAT is this Big Tank of liquid pouring on the ground at the end of the film ?? There is water everywhere on the ground below the stuff... wazza ? Water again ?

Hi there I have been researching youtube and the web alot the past 6 months but would you happen to know of a video or website that really goes in depth and teaches you how jet engines and turbo prop jet engines work ?? I want to learn about every aspect and internal part.
Hi the APU is a Microturbo (Safran) Saphir unit rated at about 50 HP. It's known as an "air producer" unit and is fitted to a number of aircraft. See website for details.
