I can't believe Robbie Daymond wasn't actually our friend! Jokes aside, I guess this confirms the Ever After is a predecessor to Remnant rather than a successor based on Curious Cat's comment. The body doubles faces mirroring Neos facial expressions and acting as her mouth was so well done. When Ruby was handed the tea, she was surrounded by illusions of everyone, including her teammates and Jaune. The next time she looks up is them actually looking at her, but she has no idea they aren’t illusions. For all we know she was just drinking it without them to stop her. Completely alone. She probably thought they were illusions, but she still wanted the last thing she saw to be her friends. Damn, what a brilliant allusion to the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

This episode was insane, I didn't see any of it coming (except maybe Neo finally appearing). The Cat turning out to _actually_ be bad legitimately surprised me, I was so convinced they were _at least_ neutral, and probably good. But they did give us some lore hints that I've speculated a bit about on Twitter.

@@gohanmoreno7 The way your question is worded, it sounds like you're asking about hints to the Cat being bad, but I was referring to the things the Cat said to Ruby about their makers and how they left the world to create something else. What hints do you want to know about?

@@SauceyRedHN oh, the first thing, i did not see coming the cat being evil and i feel unconfortable by not noticing anything as i could remember as a hint to it being building it

@@gohanmoreno7 That's what I assumed you meant, and I wrote a response to that but after being done I double-checked and saw that I was referring to something else and just had to make sure of what you wanted. Anyway, I'll send you what I wrote. I only had one instance in mind when I wrote the comment, but I found another one. I'm sure other people with more time and willingness to analyze the scenes with the Cat could get far more out of those scenes, but this is what I could find by quickly looking through the episodes. Only two instances, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are other things I've missed. Chapter 4: "If I were you, I would be more worried about... who was that scary sorceress you mentioned? Saleem? Salem? How many more relics does she need to end the world, again? How are you even supposed to stop her now that Atlas is gone?" _Ruby stops out of insecurity, struggles to think of an answer, gets distracted, loses the Cat, and they end up at the Herbalist's place._ Chapter 6: Cat lied about what happened to Alyx and Lewis. Ruby: "What happened when you took Alyx and Lewis to the Tree?" Cat: "I... I don't know. She had told me she'd take me with her through the door to Remnant, but ... she tricked me, just... just like all of you. You only want to use me in the same way I've only seen others as sources for knowledge and entertainment." _Ruby becomes sad and starts tearing up._ Cat: "Well, at least now I know what _not_ to do." Ruby: "We... we just want to get home." Cat: "Thank you for this lesson, Ruby... Rose... huntress. I'll be on my way now. Stay with your 'friend.'" Clearly trying to make her feel bad, which they manage to do.

The most interesting thing I find with ascension is that usually it shows to take people back to a certain point? Like we've seen with the King becoming a Prince and what I'd assume happens to most things here. Personally I think that Jaune is also going to struggle with the thought of ascending after seeing what happens with rwby? Maybe ascending himself to become his old self a bit before he fell into this place? Another thing I find interesting is that essentially the Curious Cat is this worlds Salem. Perhaps he got far too curious and tried to do something to the gods which caused them to curse him with curiosity and leave themselves to make Remnant? It also begs the question, how many worlds have they created? Could you essentially world hop by falling off of the acres much like how falling in the in between worked? Probably not as that was in between and this is in a world but the thought of them playing world roulette by constantly jumping off into voids is entertaining

The art of Neo with her parents is better explained with the book "RWBY: A Roman Holiday" (since the illustration matches) and it goes into the dynamic duo's backstory

Man the amount of psychological torture in this episode...it just hurts to see RWBY blaming herself for everything like that😭😭 And Little...I couldn't belive my eyes when that happened😮😮

Ruby doesn't consider the Afterans real, she called them make belief friends in her breakdown last Chapter. But after seeing Little, the only friend who she pushed away, come back for her was the last time we saw her grit her teeth. Back during the auction, notice the camera directing when Jinxy asked Ruby for “enough hope to fill this jar.” Implying Ruby’s hope used to be Penny, then symbolically Little appears in the jar. Even when Little is clearly outmatched by powerful foes like Neo and Curious Cat, Little still hasn’t given up hope. So Little dying, trying to save her, was the tipping point. She drank the Tea after looking for the final time at Little and what to her might just be illusions of JWBY. Damn, this is the GOAT!
