I ve been a fan of this sport most of my life. Only recently have I been able to enjoy the frequency of races via internet. One surprise I ve learned is how young the racers are to run that hard and competitively and have no fear.
I remember this well. Typical dank October evening, last day of the season if I remember rightly. Matoušek was a loose cannon during his 4 seasons at Sheffield, always a crowd puller but a shame his scoring away from Owlerton didn't match his temper.
I watched this as a complete neutral with no prejudice against any rider... and I blame Wilson (yellow) for the incident. His body language right from the start was edgy and he was very deliberate in causing that accident. My opinion.... for what it's worth!
Good old Roman. I once saw him almost fence Paul Bentley on the back straight at Middlesbrough when Banga returned the compliment in the next race he was not a happy chappy! Is he still collecting waste bins back in the Czech Republic?
Wilson maybe indeed be up for a fight, you can tell he's blocked a lot of punches with that nose of his. What they ought to do is stand back and let them entertain the crowd, they'll get it sorted out no matter who wins. Bullys don't like to fight they like to intimidate. Ruff sobs in a ruff sport, shit's bound to happen.
What a tit, he elbows Matousek the entire way around the first bend and then rides him into the fence, Wilson was very lucky he wasn't sparked out there. Still have memories of Roman and the guy in the crowd trading blows at the 4TT final at the Showground in 1990...mad
watch it again , sean did not touch him and held his line, mata is an idiot and he was always a loose cannon, even in the services on the motorway i remember him picking a fight with a big lad ,he soon backed off!!!
NO I CAN TELL YOU NOW HE WAS NOT ON DRUGS,KNOWN HIM FOR 30 YEARS AND HE IS JUST FOCUSED ON RIDING HE LOVED TO RACE AND THATS IT!! HE HOLDS HIS OWN CORNER AND KNOWS THAT SPEEDWAY IS A HARD SPORT!!!!
