Romantic Picnic Menu 

A few months ago when my boyfriend and I first started dating, I prepared a nice picnic meal inspired by this video and he LOVED it! Since then we've had a few more picnics and it became a common (and inexpensive) day date for us. There are many more picnics to come! Thank you! :)

Could you please do more picnic videos? This was really helpful and all the food kept well, but with spring around the corner I need fresh, new ideas!

That is one lovely spread! Here's my picnic menu; 1. Homemade potato chips (sweet onion) 2. Mini quiches 3. Antipasto sandwiches with pesto 4. Cookies or brownies 5. Broccoli salad 6. Sparkling flavored water and good ol' coke or pepsi :D

I made the hibiscus iced tea the other day and it was delicious and refreshing. I live in the south,so there's a lot of tea here,but nothing like the hibiscus tea. It's also very pretty and girlie which I LOVE:-). In addition to the tea, I made the cheddar and dill biscuits. Since I didn't have dill I used chives and they came out light, fluffy and flavorful. I will say that cayenne packs just a little punch, so if you're making for guests you may want to cut it by half. I don't think the cayenne should be optional, but the measurement should be:-) I made the cherry turnovers last week and they were good too. I will definitely make them again, however the almond extract was too much for me, so I'll cut that down next time. I'll be going to a concert in the park on Saturday, so the plan is to make the pesto pasta salad and maybe even the gazpacho tonight. I'll keep ya posted on my thoughts. Great menu, Beth. I think it's wonderful that you're willing to go through so much effort to make a fantastic meal but you're also trying to keep things as simple and easy as possible. Can't wait for the next video! I love Meghan

this is awesome!! i mean i was so worried while watching the video wondering how to manage myself to do this whole menu, but BOOM!! you thought about everything. this is great. i'm from Dominican Republic and i can tell you picnics are not something that people do around here, my friends and i (4 people in total) made a picnic and took some pictures and everybody was surprised, in fact a mate in work told me he thought it was just a cartoons thing. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS MENU, i'm sure my friends and i are going to love it.

One tip I've heard for making pastry without a food processor is to freeze the butter and grate it - gets it really small!
