My Mom was a cancer patient there at the same time. Reagan received countless flower arrangements wishing him a speedy recovery. He sent them on to other patients, with a hand written note that he had composed and written himself and signed, wishing them well. My Mom received one of these with the note, and was overjoyed that the President had sent her flowers. It made her very happy. What a kind and human gesture!
