Stretching tires is nothing new in the car scene and just like most things, rookie mistakes can be there to accompany you every step you take. But some rookie mistakes can be avoided, Alex takes time out to give some helpful tips on where and when to avoid rookie mistakes running stretched tires.

My mistake was not thinking about tire tread wear. Within eight months of a brand new set of wheels and tires I went from 100% tire tread to about half its life.

I've never stretched my tires. Love the look, but hate the feeling. Living in Socal is not the place for stretched wheels Also so you want a Honda coupe ( accord and civic ) day #8😅

I had my g slammed on bc coils over last winter and I picked up some 18s and didn’t realize they had such a crazy stretch on them at first. So for the next two weeks I had to drive to my cousins house for work, every morning in a development with absolutely brutal speed bumps. After the two weeks my 6 month old tomei catback looked like a waffle.

I meant to add on my first comment about going from a 18x8 with 225/45/18 to a 235/40/18 X 9.5. It’s literally a night and day difference on handling performance. Also the look is so good. You can see on my channel plus I got some BCracing Coilovers coming so I can take off my eibach pro kit lowering springs and KYB gas x struts. Lol

They don't recommend more than 3 stages of stretch but they say perfect stretch setup for a 9.5 for example is 215/35 which is like 5 stage of tire stretching wtf I'm I wrong?

I'm a bigger tyre kinda guy I run 235 in front on a 19" 225 rim I run 265 in the back on a 19" 255 rim Fit really nice in the fenders, cool stance and look menacing from the front and the back 3 different mechanics told me it is fine Do a video on bigger tyres and what is considered safe, maybe?

So tell me, the guy I bought my wheels from said a 235/45 will fit a 19.5 inch wheel. He had the same car as me, but he had a Genesis 5.0 R-Spec. I have the base 3.8 (sedan) and already placed an order on General Altimax tires. I couldn't go with a 245 bc it runs in the back. He had Nitro Neo Gens and it had a bit of stretch. Can Generals stretch too?

Personally I would go with maybe Federal or Nankang as I know from what I have seen online from others that they stretch fairly well if not the best! Can't say I honesty have heard of people stretching Generals all that much, Hope this helps! - Erik

So I just sold a brand new set of 225/40/18 Indy 500 tires because not one shop around here would Mount then . So I was looking for a 235/40/18 in a summer tires with a little stretch

@@FitmentIndustries only size is the amount on those wheels for a 235/ 40/18 or 245 /40/18 so I wanted to go with the 235 but I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about tires that do not stretch and I need something that will stretch in that size that has good traction in the summertime We looked at like the noodles but I’ve heard they’ve had really big side walls I don’t want that

I went from a 18X8 wheel with 225/45/18 and it was just normal. Normal driving and normal everything else. No stretch or poke. Now I got new xxr wheels and they are 18X9.5 with 235/40/18. I really want a 235/35/18 tire on my new wheels. Think that’s ok? You can check my channel and see my new wheels and nittos. Thanks buddy for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!
