Love your videos. Question on British National Characteristics Up and at ’em and Blood Curdling Charge can that be used to Assault Tanks. (I know you only get one) I am building a British 8th army list for a tournament that allows a SINGLE GERNARIC platoon or TANK Platoon. I don't have a lot of AT assets currently in my army. The three scenarios we will be playing are Key Positions , NO Mans Land, and Sectors. In that order. My concerned is the NO Mans scenario in dealing with a Tank Platoon. My thinking is since i have lots of infantry in my list, I could assault tanks them using "Up and at ’em" . (NOT spending points on tank grenades.)

Yes most TOs allow upand at em and Blood ruling charge to work against tanks. But unless you have at grenades or very large units it is not very effective

Not a comment but a question that came up on a game I had with a brand new Bolt Action player last night. Can you split fire a flamethrower in a engineer/pioneer group or is it slaved to the small arms of the group. As he wanted to fire on my regular US infantry squad and then take the flammer to my armored twin bazooka jeep. I thought with flamethrowers it is hooked with the small arms of the unit, as I know you can split fire Panzerfaust, light mortars and grenade launchers. But the rules is pretty mot about flamethrowers in formations, groups though. And no he wasn't going to hit the jeep as I just recced 12 inches away in revers so as to keep the armored nose towards the pioneers and so be proof against their small arms fire. Thanks to your channel I'm starting to try other stuff and seeing if it works or doesn't after a few tries, I never do that tried it once and it is worthless, but do it 3-5 times and then say it works or does not.

IT is ONLY HE and one shot weapons that can split fire in infantry units

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846 Thanks, I thought so and being brand new I didn't want to ruffle any feathers as you usually make it worse and make them hate the game and walk away. But there is one other advantage the British have with their airborne units and that is they can take tanks (Tetrarch, M-22 Locust) on any air drop/ glider type scenarios no other airborne faction can do that. I know two locals that have M-22 Locust and it can be right down scary when you thinking your StuH 42 has a clear shot at an enemy unit only to have a Locust show and either damage or destroy it.

@@jonnycurran90 is there a difference? We have one shot fausts, and light mortars/rifle grenades... What Else?

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846 Yes indirect fire can fire over obstacles, but some HE weapons can also be fired directly. At this moment, I can't think of a non-HE indirect fire weapon that exists in bolt action, nor can I think of an infantry section based HE weapon that can fire directly in bolt action, but that's not to say they don't exist or may be added in the future. For example the british use of vickers mmgs to fire indirectly may get added to a pertinent campaign book at some point, or perhaps infantry based bazookas with a 1" HE template (which I believe is in one of the D-Day books for use against bunkers). I just wanted to highlight that it is the indirect rule that allows the split fire, not the HE rule, in case it makes a difference to a rare unit or will make a difference in the future.

While nonsensical, I wonder how viable Home Guard hoard/gunline with Superb Junior Officers (nominally given to New Zealand) would be.
@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846
at a minimum it would be FUN
