Showing how I add a vintage quilt block to a rope bowl/basket.
**CORRECTION** I misspoke about the rope, it is 100 ft (not yds) for about $8.00....must have been wishful thing LOL...........
If you find this helpful, please give a thumbs up and leave a comment. I will respond to any questions you may have. Thanks a bunch....

I love listening to you describe what you are doing and talking about your vintage machines. I also love how you go slow enough for beginners to grasp your technique. Thank you so much!

SO lovely! [I had a collection, too, but nothing as significant as yours!] I found your tutorial that features the knot finish you have on the other quilt block bottom that you show at the end (@23:45-50)? I love that knot! Thank you, love!

You have absolutely inspired me! Your quilt block bowls are beautiful! Just started making bowls and I am embroidering the bottoms. The quilting takes this to such a higher level. 72 and going strong!

Lovely project 😍🥰❤️. When I do this, I’ll probably cut the circle 1/4 or 1/2 inch larger than the base, then trim off around it once I stitch that round. For me, it’d be too frustrating trying to keep the edge under that round of rope, as I also keep the rope to the previous round. Not a criticism or judgement…just me knowing me. Love quilting, and am just now perfecting my rope bowl skills. Thank you for your video.

Very nice as a quilter I would do the “quilting stitch first, then trim then sew to extra rope. That way if anything shifts it won’t really pucker. You got a lucky find in those vintage blocks

As a quilter I agree to quilt before attaching. I think the bottom of the bowl would look neater without seeing the stitching.

Love your rope videos! So thrilled to see how you did the quilted bottom! Nosy question, but how much do you charge for your bowls? Thank you for posting!
@blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098
Oh! New sub. Loved how you used the stick glue. I do the same for many of my sewing projects! Great to tack down and dries quickly!
@SuZ3945
@SuZ3945 Год назад
I have a range of pricing from $15 to $150 depending on size and how much work each basket takes. The quilted bowls you see here are $25/$30.
@blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098
@@SuZ3945 would like to see a video of your bowls 🥣. You have taken my bowl making to a whole new level! Thanks for the pricing info. I never have a clue how much to charge if someone wants to buy. Usually, I just gift them to my family and friends. 😆

I like. I would be leary about using glue stick to keep fabric on rope base....the glue would stick to the needle and " gum" up; my machine is computerized and I'd be afraid the glue would not be good for the computerized mechanism.
@SuZ3945
@SuZ3945 Год назад
I do not have a problem with the small amount of glue stick I use just to tack the fabric down temporarily. If you are uncomfortable with the glue stick don't use it, it is not necessary just helpful.
