What do you not like about the Arbor-Plex? I was considering getting a similar rope: the Samson True Blue, which is also a 12-strand 12mm. But you may change my mind. I'm relatively new to recreational tree climbing, and have been using a 16-strand 12.7mm (Safety Blue) and a 24-strand 11.7mm (BlueMoon) for MRS using a Blake's Hitch. Thanks for the video.
@@AerialTraveler Thanks for your explanation and advise. I'm an old retired lineman who never thought much about tree climbing until my grandchildren came along. Now I'm getting into the trees with them. I plan to stick with the MRS for the time being to keep it simple, but I do like the idea of choosing ropes that work well with MRS and SRS. I plan to watch some more of your videos. You're a wealth of information.
I started with Yale Safari 11 mm. Awesome rope 200 feet. I bought Yale XTC Blaze 1/2 inch 150’ second. I use 10 mm with my DMM hooks and for an ELL. Thanks for your videos. Take care
Dang. Wish I saw this video a week ago. just bought arbor-plex as my first rope. Was thinking about either arbor-plex or blaze. I don't have anything to compare to but I actually like the arbor-plex though.
AT, I have matched most of your equipment. I have dedicated bags for my ropes. Do you recommend a bag for all the other stuff? Biners, foot ascenders, SAKA, lanyards and on and on... TIA.
I have a 12mm 20m Arbor rope i feel like its a bit too short but theres a way around that if you're climbing bigger 30+ meter trees what i do is when I'm at the top tie my throw line to it rap down on my 8 until i hit the end tie in with my lanyard pull it down tie it to where I'm at then rap again if it works it works
If you're going 11 then why not go 11.7? 11.7 still tends like a dream on most mechanical devices and is more comfortable and will last longer. Yale also makes great rope.
