Revisiting one of the most underrated climbing videos ever created for the 999th time. We need more climbing videos in this style. No talking, nothing extra, just climbing.
One of my favorite climbing videos, care free and having fun. I've been on the rope runner pro for one year now and it's one of the best things I've come across in the climbing world in my 18 years of service to the industry. Well done and thank you for making it easy on an older climber! Five stars on this device!!
The editing and multiple camera angles make this a truly awesome example of how videos should be done. Like Lawrence Schultz. No junk. No dogs. No talking, just straight-up awesome. Jim H.
Me and my wife just watched this video together.... Thanks Kevin thanks, nows she's asking me "must not be that tired he makes it look really easy" You are the man just got mine today and did my first climbs on it huge fan man!
Kevin, I am so excited for you that your new Rope Runner is finally going to be released. Now this video on the other hand..... I clicked on and started watching and my wife was laughing at how excited I was to see the new RR in your hand and then you started climbing. I was just as excited to see you playing in the tree as I was to see your new Rope Runner. Dang Kevin, I sure would like to spend time with yourself and a handful of others just "playing" in a big beautiful tree soaking up whatever technique and skills I could. 😎👊❤️🌲 Thanks for teasing us all and getting us sitting on the edge of our seat in expectation. Great video brother! Thanks again and keep yourself safe! Randy
@@treebing49 That really would be great Kevin. 👍 I appreciate your passion for the craft and that you continue to work on the progression of technique and gear that has been and continues to be a huge help to me and so many other climbers. Thanks again and keep yourself safe! Randy
Man I fancy myself as a climber, not a great one at all but it's how I feed my family... seriously how are you so controlled!!? your climbing is poetry in motion!!!! You make it look way to easy!!!! How!???
I am pumped to finally see this announced Kev. You’re one of the most inspiring climbers to watch, it brings me back to that first TreeJam. I love your style, it’s constantly humbling me. Cheers buddy. I’ll be buying one to support the evolution. My runners are both like fine wine, I’m betting this will be no different.
Fact: This is one of the most awesome climbing videos ever posted Question: For us mere mortals, could you please name the rope, boots and gloves you're using in this video??
@@treebing49 wow. I have recently got into climbing and trying to figure out how to go out on the end of limbs and you made it look like a walk to the mail box 🤣🤣🤣
I figured I may as well be blunt, since you can just as easily ignore the Q if you so choose -- Kevin, how satisfied are you with the monetary compensation and arrangements you've had while/during/after letting this become a Notch device? Thanks :) (Thanks for everything not just for reading a comment lol, you're a really smart & talented guy actually I've personally benefitted from multiple things I learned in your podcast appearance, not only am I frequently getting clients to get wood chipped to mulch on-site but also am climbing "2 systems" SRT now more often than not, WOW does it increase your mobility in a canopy!!! If you haven't messed with 'treesqueeze' type lanyards yet you should give a try, using a pair of those as your anchors for a 2-SRT system, when in spread canopies, lets you do some crazy stuff!! And honestly they're awesome as fliplines for ascent too, not only are they safer & IMO more comfortable when fliplining up on spurs *but* you can always just "set it" and then it's your climbline anchor so if you encountered an ants' nest you could swap to bailing-out down your line right there, if Buckingham's patent-pending version wasn't scaring the other retailers from making them then this would be as ubiquitous, and considered as much a must-have lanyard, as the venerable "adjustable flipline / friction-saver" we all know & use!)
This is awesome. Just getting into exploring the trees with drt. We have some huge madrones, Big fir and redwoods in our garden which makes a delightful playground.
Mostly a video of how pure your style is. Where’s all the jangly stuff? 🤩 Looks like a great evolution of the device! The RR is still my favorite mechanical dodad.
That was absolutely fun to watch. Great job. Well if you were trying to sell rope runner pro. you set the hooks and have me on the line. Really excellent skills. Kevin, you made my heart sing.
Gonna get this when it’s released without a doubt. So excited about not having to fully remove components to reattach on different redirect legs of rope, or when attaching to a different rope all together.
Bro,,, I am fully in love with the tune on this video, broke out the Ukulele to play along.. Sick device too, this might take me away from rope on rope!
I am not a professional arborist and have absolutely no justification for buying one of these... but... I am *NOT* going to let that stop me! This video is like a sportscar commercial: Somehow, if I buy this, I'll have sixpack abs, blondes jumping in the window at every traffic light, empty roads, and no speeding tickets. Ever.
Hope you can get the CE mark sorted for the euro market, I've been climbing with a rope wrench for over 10 years and a big fan. You can get RR2 here in the UK from what I've heard but because they are not ce certified they are not covered by insurance or can be submitted for loler inspection.
Kevin - you're a special kind of guy. Your inventions and your video come from the heart. When will the RR2 be available? I've never climbed on a Roperunner, but I can I can tell I'm going to like it.
I’ll pay you for a lesson!!! How th did you do the traverse when you went from one side to the main stem upside down?? How’d you anchor your tail and retrieve it from that setup?? Freakin awesome stuff man!!!
@@treebing49 Thanks, very cool idea. You could also use a macrame knot from canyoneering, then you wouldn't have to feed the rope through the union first. I'll definitely be using that technique though.
And for those of us in the UK/Europe, will it have manufacturing / test standard? I suspect part of the problem with this is that it may not fit the standards. I use a rope runner for nearly all of my climbing but here in the UK that can be problematical because it doesn't have a CE mark.
