You are not lying I have watched letisha trial this week I've watched the trial of the other baby in ga omg I forgot the name and now this one every single one there is a cough like whyyyyy
Don't like to "judge a book by it's cover" , but the defendant looks like a mean, hateful woman. She just appears like someone who would lose control at the drop of a hat and attack the first person who came close to her. Have to wonder if she is even capable of smiling or showing tenderness to a child.
The demonic Jennifer prayed on a week and desperate addict who wanted a stable home for her babies while she worked thru a recovery program. Such a classic case of the strong preying on the weak. I hope this heffer gets life. As for her husband -- he can kiss his job as a CO good by
@@florenceglenn4627 a "friend" pulled strings and got these girls placed with the Rosenbaums.they had not been trained or qualified to foster. She wanted these children specifically because she had been in foster care with the girls' mother. Some " revenge" issues
How the hell do you fall asleep during the very first witness? Especially with a case like this? The juror should just be replaced instead of having to babysit him throughout the trial.
I can't believe they're going to allow this juror with a "sleeping issue" & "denial issues" during testimony to remain on the jury. That is so unfair for the case.
I love the way the Coroner is explaining the details , he is breaking it down so perfect that's a teenager could understand it !! You can tell how affected every witness is in this case.....and how they seem to both have given "a look" at the defense table! 🤨😠
@@euphegenia That's in the legal system, Nimrod. People don't work that way in the real world which is why the legal system had to be meticulously made into that. Normal people make their own decisions and sometimes they're right- Like OJ Simpson.
That’s all the credentials you need to be a coroner in that town? That seems weird. But this guy was on point and handled the defense questions perfectly! She got nothing from him! This entire case is so wildly obvious...this child was abused in some way shape or form by this woman. What an awful tragedy. 💔
I was also shocked to learn coroners do not need prior medical education or even knowledge! I have also always been infuriated that jurors are random people that do not need knowledge of the justice system.
@@jeetkunedoatlanta2464 I know and understand that concept. I just have issues with the fact that some of these people chosen to be on a jury may not completely understand law, definitions of terms used, they may not be fully invested to the process or proceedings. We all know jury duty is unpaid and considered a duty or privilege but some may not see it that way & may not take it seriously. We all know if we're getting paid to do something we tend to put a little more effort into that task. I wouldn't want my fate to be determined by someone dozing off during my trial or by someone who cannot make an honest and educated decision based upon facts and evidence but rather on how they feel or perceive the situation.
Clearly very different terminology and role responsibilities to what we have in Australia. In Oz, the "Coroner" is a Judge and determines the cause and manner of death in legislated "reportable" deaths (e.g. deaths in custody, violent or unnatural deaths like motor vehicle crashes). These are usually not criminal cases. The Coroner cannot lay charges if they suspect a criminal perpetrator in a case they are investigating but if they believe there is enough evidence being presented to warrant criminal charges, they can stop the Coronial Inquiry and refer the case to the Public Prosecutor. In criminal investigations, the police fulfil the role that seems to be undertaken by a "Coroner" in this jurisdiction.
If this couple was innocent, they'd be looking very carefully at the pictures, taking notes, and trying to figure out where those bruises came from. It's ridiculous to suggest they didnt cause them. They are looking down in shame and chit chatting with each other 🙄😡
I know everyone is entitled to a defense. But as a defense lawyer how do you sleep at night knowing that the beasts are guilty just by the evidence. I would feel nasty and in need of a bleach bath. I would feel the need to go to church every night and ask for forgiveness.
I wonder that too. When my sister was murdered in 2014 the defense attorney he started with couldn't handle it and asked to be removed from the case for medical reasons. I think he knew the monster was guilty and it made him sick and he didn't want to defend him anymore.
I say that about all the trials I watch. I want to see what they see. I know it's pictures of a deceased child but a lot of us can handle that. They could ever blur out the face. I don't think they ever show the photos of deceased anybody on any trial though. Just because it's you tube and I think it goes against their community standards. So we'll never see what they see unfortunately
I agree, I try and watch these cases as though I am on the jury.. so I do like to see everything. I can always turn my own away if I don't want to see it. I also try and not watch what happens when the jury are not in the court. I wonder if I was on the jury, would I have made the same decision... Probably sounds sad.. but hey..that's me.
I’m the same, I know this is a sensitive case but I like to have all facts before me including evidence so I can determine what I would come up with guilty plea or not guilty
For God’s sake it’s 2019.... why not have a monitor by witness that he can touch the screen or have a laser pointer to point on the big screen. To have to get up and do it with a long pointer is just ridiculous. Smh 🤦♀️
Why are they allowed to sit together? They keep talking to each other during the autopsy report. It just shows how disrespectful and hateful they are. They can't even give the child respect in death.
@@florenceglenn4627 that would have been a disqualification. But certainly some people are very easy to doze off while others not so much. Who knows with this gentleman.
The only thing that gives me solace while watching this is knowing that that the monsters involved will get theirs in prison. They don't take kindly to anyone that harms a child!!
I'd take his place n stay awake someone needs to stand up for this child n that's what they r their for. to sure this baby gets justice.....what a sad man, ill slap him awake!!!!!
It is a travesty that these 2 people are allowed to sit together and whisper to get their stories straight. I have never seen this before. Why would the judge allow this? 😡
Charlene Poole I was thinking the same thing. But it’s my understanding, and I could be wrong, but aren’t they out on bail. If so, they’ve had plenty of time to conspire about their lies.
Ashley Merrick I’ve seen it both way with co defendants: same attorney and different attorneys for each defendant. I guess since they’ve been out on bail it doesn’t matter if they talk to one another at the defense table , because they’ve had plenty of time to conspire and get their stories straight IF they testify on their own behalf.
When it's 2 people facing the same charges, same witnesses, same testimony it's more productive to try cases together rather than separately. Each defendant will have their own defence lawyer and each defence can question witnesses like its a separate trial.
Geoff Poole Cause and manner of death, which are different, visit the place of death, write reports, hold meetings with the public, family, the media, and as we see, give evidence in court.
In many States and Counties you can find this possible. In some really small Towns the local Justice of the Peace will be a corner. A famous trial presided over by Congressman Louie Gohmert, when he was a Judge was overturned because the Justice of the Peace ruled murder without letting a Medical Examiner check if out
You know this has to effect a coroner when he sees a child in this state and has to perform a autopsy on this child. But they are trained in death and dying and how to deal with it.
I knew at the age of 11 that you don’t perform adult cpr on a baby. I’m curious if there are any adults/parents out there that already know that, or were shocked to know that cpr is different for an adult vs a baby. Maybe there needs to be more public awareness. JMO I am just starting to watch this case.
TBH Im not a fan of the camera postion and the sound is a bit off .. I notice the Defence and Prosicution are sitting next to each other .Not seen that before ?
Mark ok during a trial as serious in nature as this one....yes...it would be a problem. Maybe you should think about if this poor baby girl was your daughter........
@Inglorious Betch that appears to be @Ciara Wall 's point exactly. When you've failed so badly that the child you chose, *volunteered*, to take care of, love and protect has ended up, as a consequence of your actions or inactions, the subject (victim) of a case such as this, reduced to exhibits in a courtroom instead of the bright, safe, loved, and loving, innocent young life that that child should be today.
Sleeping juror has been trying to get off jury since day. Both sides have decided he will not he on the decision making panel but don't want to let him recuse himself just because he wants off.
I completely agree. I cant make a judgement at all without seeing the injuries. there are actually many times when medical examiner/coroner gets it wrong. and that some kids are horribly bruised in situations like this. idk.
My understanding is that the victim is entitled to privacy, fairness and respect for their dignity which translates into not showing photos that can be used to sensationalize by the media.
I was thinking the same but then I realized they have not cried, looked visibly upset or showed any emotion. The nurse showed more emotion than the defendants. I think the camera man wants everyone to see how the defendants do not show emotions for this poor baby girl
Did anybody else notice that the defendants didn't look at the photos at all , they should of been forced to look at them and show them wtf they done .
They should have paper photos in front of them as it would have been sent to defence in order to submit in court. Had the photos not been submitted prior to the case the defence has a legal right to object that photo and the judge must not allow such photo to be exhibited
I wonder if there is a particular reason why they didnt open with the emergency call. Prosecution or Defence didnt ask about her emotional state ....ie was she distressed, was she calm, was she screaming for help??? Bit odd
That juror was sleeping? During the 1st witness on the 1st day?!? #1. How? #2. Why is the judge allowing him to stay ? He literally has these two ppl entire rest of their lives in his hands and hes sleeping?!?! I actually dont think that's really fair for the defendants bc what if he missed some info while he was sleeping that was have made him lean towards one way or another but without that info it could be a different outcome. How can someone fall asleep in this setting? Like dude you have 1 job! 1 ... Be a human! Be awake and pay attention! Id be pissed if I were all these ppl in the courtroom. By sleeping he nonverbally basically was saying he doesnt give two craps about the defendants and doesnt give two craps about getting justice for this precious baby.
Logan Hensley that’s a huge red flag for reason to appeal! I’m surprised the judge is even letting hi. Sat and not using an alternate....but maybe since the guy denied it they can’t do anything?
@@novascotiaskater1868 Yes i agree 100% ... I'm not understanding how the judge found out he was sleeping most of the first day and allowed him to stay long enough to fall asleep AGAIN?!?! I mean come on in a murder case yoy literally cannot miss 1 word or 1 second .... As much as i want justice for this baby its still not fair for any defendant no matter what they have done. Im sure they will appeal im not understanding how that wasnt grounds for him to be dismissed immediately or even a possible re-trial.
Everyone is talking about the witness, but did you guys saw that the defense objected to basically the second piece of evidence in this case. And it was the FIRST photo depicting this particular situation. Not the second, third or 120th. THE FIRST PHOTO. Oh boy, this is gonna be a messy one.
This women has to be 5’9 and 200 lbs and I pray there is someone in her new cell that would like to show her how it felt to be that baby girl…smh this case has stuck with me since it happened and to this day I still think of these beautiful girls..rip Layla and I pray Millie is happy and safe.
The husband also. My hub's a lawyer (not criminal). He would never allow a client to chew gum. He tells them what to wear. He asks them not to talk to him but to write notes. He directs them to say yes ma'am and sir and to use words bc it drives him crazy to read uh huh or mmm huh in a transcript since one can't always tell if it's a yes or a no without video. He doesn't like his clients to explain since he never knows what they might say that could cause an issue. He tells them to answer yes, no, I don't know, I don't remember, or a very short sentence and then stop talking. He makes them practice this and cautions them to be respectful at all times and to never lie. He asks them to trust him; that he will fix or clarify on redirect.
Why cant we see the pictures? And why does the camera not show the defendants from the front? Not because they are pretty to look at but so we could read their demeanor. Also because it allows them to hide. Why should they be able to do that? Only the witnesses and jury should be able to say if they if they dont want their face shown on camera.
I think it's a bit unfair if they aren't really looking at the husband very closely. The man was working 2 jobs and going to the hospital for treatment. He's not at home very much. I know they are focusing on the woman primarily. Just seems unfair to the husband.
Yeah I mean I get that and he's working all the time and rarely home but how would he not see the bruises on that baby girl. It's just kind of a case like the Cheyenne Harris and Zachary koehn case thatHe was rarely ever home but then he did finally come home and he had every opportunity to see that there was something wrong with his baby and he chose to do absolutely nothing. they may have not been part and party to doing anything to the child but they stood by idling knowing things were going on and did nothing to stop it.
These two low life's just act like they had nothing to do with the death of this precious child! The female just shakes her head barely trying to deny everything, and the judge should tell her to stop doing that! I can't imagine the torture and pain this adorable baby girl endured. I can say that she is at the foot of the Lord in heaven! I hope these people get what they deserve!!!!!!!
I never thought I’d see the day but I found a person who represents defendants that I hate MORE than I hate the defense attorney in this case. Darrell Brooks..
you know, I would be willing to bet that a lot of these defense attorneys really don't believe their clients but they have to make a case for them. Especially if they're public defenders. I wonder how they sleep at night knowing they defend monsters like this. But I'd almost don't feel like they have any choice
The funny side is, they turned against their defence when they lost the case and trying for a retrial stating their attorney did not act in their best defence 🙄
Cathy Wilson she most likely wouldn’t have done that to her own kids, if she were able. I think she did it because she didn’t like Tessa from the incident from when they were 16.
Kinda dumb the setup of the cameras. This is the first time I've ever seen one recorded like this. They should've allowed the media to show those 2 killers faces straight on...
So basically in America to be a " county coroner " u need f...all training! It's utterly bizarre to me . However I have to say as a witness he's seems competent .just such a strange system
All a coroner does is transport the body. Not much education needed for that. They don’t do autopsy or any other sort of medical stuff to need any training. He either transports to a funeral home or a medical examiner’s office. The only training they need/get is to know if there is some sort of infectious disease to transport differently to stop the spread of disease or the protocol for when a body needs to go for an autopsy.
Why were the rosenbaum so stupid to take this to trial......they should have taken a plea deal.........I'm glad they did not....there sentence will be longer......
The husband looks as though he is having a really hard time looking at these pictures, is he maybe starting to wonder what was going on while he was working>
I don't believe these trials are released on video until after the trial is over. And if any of it is then they would add it out the juror's name because that cannot get out before the trial is over. But actually I take that back to like I almost feel like the jurors are allowed to be known but not allowed to talk about the case. But that does make sense like if you don't want somebody to know that you were a juror in a case like this especially, I wouldn't want my name to be out there either
See I think it’s a little crazy that there is no medical experience requirement to be a coroner in many states. 24 hours of training just seems inadequate.
the camera angle is rediculas, should be 2 cameras , at front and back with wide angle showing entire room and occupant's at all times. this case is so sad. world seems to be full of monsters. coroner not an expert medical person? omg that's just so wrong.
They did not looked at one picture! Joseph looked up about 2 times. They knew they did the most horrible act upon those babies! And they want a get out of jail free card! Just looked at them writing and talking with each other. Throw them in prison with the rest of baby killer's! When you kill a child and know it wasn't a mistake you should get life without parole or death! This just a very sad case😥😥😥😥😥
Good try, Defense......YOU'RE the one who doesn't know what ur talking about......ho work in an ER for a year and YOU do CPR or the heimlich every single time someone comes thru the door who needs it.......then MAYBE you'll have SOME idea what ur talking about...... he did NOT say "flailing"..... they slammed her head around until she bled behind her eardrums......OMG!..... no WONDER my son switched to the prosecutorial side of the law.......🤦♀️
Because it wasn't planned. She had beat Laila so badly that she was bleeding internally. Laila was dying but they didn't know it at the time. She was seizing and they were at the dinner table so Jennifer's chose the choking excuse because it might have looked a bit like that.
My man KNOWS he was knocked out…Lolol. I mean what’s he gonna say, “Yeah judge, I admit I was knocked out up there but, you gotta understand, I worked a double shift last night, my baby was up crying cause she’s teething and I smoked half a blunt; you would be knocked out too judge.” Uh, naw, I don’t think so.
I’m sure she isn’t adjusting to life in a 8 by 10 cell compared to her fake picture perfect life. Clearly the juror was trying to get out of having to sit through the trial. Also I know this comes up later in the case Tessa shouldn’t get a dime from the city the money should go to Millie when she turns 21 not the mother.
chrissie1066 doesn’t matter at this time both should be responsible. If she did it and he watched then he is as guilty as she and it looks by the way jennifer looks she is a bossy bitch.
Really it doesn't have to be determined who did it. Laila was put in her care by CPS so if she's charged, so will the husband which the child died in home under her care. And she is more a suspect because she was there most evening, but if wife allegedly told husband she killed Laila & he didn't call authorities, he's just as gullity, an accomplice. So both may get life w/o parole or death. CPS is just as guilty didn't I assume proper protocol w/extensive background check& fingerprinting. Because she was doing her internship in DA's office, they knew her so to speak so kinda pushed things through w/o following normal red tape or process.
Internal injuries, either she was stomped so hard or kicked, whoever husband or wife knocked & split her pancreases already back to her spine & split her liver into. The poor baby was bleeding internally. Lord bless her soul: justice for Laila, RIp my sweetness❤️😍🌈🙏
Sleeping during trial wow must be a snooze but come on this was an innocent 2 y old baby girls life that was taken way to soon by evil people so I'm sorry but he needs to wake the f ☝ I'd b pissed off also so sad
Its not unusual at all! Boost deaths dint require an investigation and only require paperwork, that's what the coroner is there for. He clearly has alot of knowledge of death as he testified that he was a funeral director.
What o you want him to study? How to tell if a body is dead? How to observe a dead body? How to notice bruising and markings? He has worked years with dead bodies and that makes him qualified in my eyes, not just some text book experience. Look at this evil female, studying law (text book) yet a child abuser
It’s not like he’s doing autopsies. Why is that scary? A coroner just transports the body to a funeral home or a medical examiner it doesn’t require you to know much.
i dont quite understand why they're focusing so much on this coroners opinion. he has zero medical training, nothing but a HS dipoloma. Really need higher standards for coroner
He never stated in his testimony that all he had was a H.S. Diploma. He stated that the qualifications to hold the office is a minimum of a H.S. Diploma. He was formerly a Funeral Director. He’s not a medical doctor but he does have more than a H.S. Education.
Nothing he said was an opinion. He was there to admit the photos because he was there when they were taken. A coroner just transports the body they don’t do examinations or autopsies. He was just there when another crime scene examiner took the photos.
