Homosexual marriage is NOT supported in scripture. If it's not supported in scripture then why is it being allowed to be performed in the church ? Sadly, some of these churches are more concerned about butts in the seats and the financial status of the church bank account. I understand there is the business side to the church; however, it is the responsibility of the Pastor to preach the truth. These Pastors who have gone through seminary or theology - most of the schools you can't get out of without studying Aramaic and/or Hebrew and the original text of the bible. Therefore, many of them KNOW there is no Hebrew or Aramaic word for Homosexuality and that it was "placed" in the bible in the late 1930s. I guess you've been living under the proverbial rock. There are LGBTQ Congregations all over Atlanta and all over the world. There are at least 8 I can think of off the top of my head. One is down the street from the Mercedes Benz stadium, it's called Real INCLUSIVE Ministries United Church of Christ. Our congregations is mostly LGBTQ; however, we also have members who are heterosexual. The MCC and UFMCC denominations have been around for well over 30 years. And our teachings of love and acceptance are not surface bible teaching.

The rainbow does not belong to God if that were true then he wouldn't have given it to all of us. I don't discredit it's historical significance but the Bible's main purpose is to control people. I have read the Bible, was raised in an oppressive, organized religion and studied religious philosophy in college. I lived in the Bible Belt of Georgia for four years and was shocked at the judgemental, exclusive and sometimes cruelty of those "Christians." The teachings of the Gospels are not in the hearts of people like that, just on their sleeves. I'm way more Christian than them in my everyday life because I choose to be. It's one thing to have faith but this is a Secular country and jamming personal beliefs down other people's throats doesn't work, ever. More people need to take note of how the Amish live and leave people be in their own beliefs, whether it includes a God or not.
I would not attend a church that was not welcoming to everyone--regardless of their skin color, their sexual orientation, what country they're from, or even what religious affiliation they have. I believe Jesus welcomed all and I think, maybe, Christians and Christians churches should do the same. Jesus didn't ask people of they were members of the LGBTQ+ community and ask them to leave if they were. Just sayin'--if Jesus did it and you consider yourself a "Christian", perhaps you should follow his example and do it too. Some have issues with LGBTQ people going into the ministry and will not ordain them or even allow them to take that journey. It's taking me years to understand that perception I can only give God the credit for doing so. I am required only to love people and spread the Gospel of salvation. As to what one must do to be saved in terms of repentance, God through the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin and leads them to repentance. That is not my job in relation to other people. That is God's job. I repent for myself. That's all I am required to do. Otherwise,, I love and pray for people.

If they want to accept it, they will. If they don't want to accept it, they won't. We are not here on earth to force people to accept anything. God put people here, not me. If it is persuasion, then they can be easily persuaded back out of it. NO. We preach what is in the Word. The Holy Spirit convicts. God knew LGBTQ people were going to be LGBTQ before they arrived on this earth. He knows the number of hairs on our heads. He knows all about all of us. Let God do His job. God has more interest in salvation that either you or I. Like he told Jonah, He created the people of Nineveh and He wanted them saved. (Jonah 4:10-11) If you think that all that had to be done was for Christ to go on the cross and that all the rest of the burden of bringing salvation to others rests with us, you are wrong. Christ did the work of salvation, yes. He took on the penalty for our sins. But that does not mean that He is not involved still in bringing people to salvation. God draws us to Himself (John 6:44) You do not know all the reasons why someone is LGBTQ. But God does. I've encountered many hardened atheists on social media platforms. people who hate even the name of God. If these LGBTQ people want to come to church and profess love for God, why would we turn them away? God will work with all of us in His own way. He even loves those hardened atheists and will work with them. I'm 61 and I don't know exactly everyone's fate on this earth. God didn't give us that knowledge. He had a reason. "The secret things belong to God alone." (Deuteronomy 29:29) We have only been given what has been revealed. But that is not everything.

ANY "pastor" that disagree should read Ezekiel chapter 14 verses 9 through 11 and evaluate themselves to see if they are in violation of Revelation chapter 22 verses 18 through 21.

@GaryE Familiarize yourself with the teachings of the Nicolaitans (referenced in Revelation 2: 6&15). They taught that a person could live as they pleased as long as they professed a belief in God. The scriptures you selected are only half of the requirements as noted in the book of Revelation chapter 22 verses 12-14 we must DO THE COMMANDMENTS in order TO HAVE A RIGHT to enter i.to the kingdom. So just saying we believe isn't enough to have the right to enter the kingdom. This is why in Romans chapter 1 verse 21 it says they knew him as God but glorified him NOT as God but became vain in their own imagination. As we continue to read down to verse 26, it says that because this he (God) gave them up to vile affections. The word of God continues to let us know what the vile affections are. The vile affections the bible mentions are women being with women and men being with men sexually. So either the word of God is wrong or you are. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 also says that the effeminate and abusers of themselves with mankind (gay people) can't get into the kingdom. 2 Peter chapter 2 verses 7-8 speakes on Lot when he lived among gays in Sodom. Their conversations were wicked and their DEEDS were unlawful. 1 John 3: 4-6 lets us know that sin is breaking the law/ commandments of God and whoever commits sin doesn't know God. @@moealbert7339 In the book of Romans chapter 1 (that deal with homosexuality) down in verse 26 God said that he gave them up to vile affections (please read down from there). Kinda sounds like God washed his hands of them. Even if you disagree, we still have to contend with Proverbs when God said that he will laugh and not answer the people that have went against his commandments. Not to mention 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 that says that abusers of themselves with mankind (gay people) will not be in the kingdom . It also says in the same passage that even an effeminate man can't get in, not gay but effeminate. From my reading, God has absolutely no tolerance for any person that has left the natural use of a man or a woman and participating in such activities and acts like he could participate in such activities. Psalms 119:104 says that through thy precepts (laws/commandments) i hate EVERY false way. God doesn't tolerate it because tolerance for such actions are not in the commandments.
