This is absolutely beautiful, and 99% perfect. The only thing that could push it that extra 1% would be a real quartz crystal. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to substitute one in too, just glue that ring around it. If I ever have a large amount of money to throw at a lightsaber, I'm getting one of these.

Good news everyone! There's no need to dremel/cut the coupler anymore. TCSS now carries a coupler with 3 large windows milled and ready to go. Link in the description.

Holy smokes man. I really wanted to add a crystal chamber to my build but this just brings it to the next level... it MOVES! I absolutely must try to build this. I know the video came out almost 9 years ago... but do you think I will still be able to get all the parts to build this?

You listed everything you need to make this except the LED, where did you get yours from? Your blue crystal in the beginning seemed to have a pulse effect with the LED, how did you accomplish that? Is there a spot for the LED to rest inside of the chamber chassis or do I need to fabricate something?

ammnra How much money total would you say, generally speaking, would I need in order to fund a project like this. also, can I find all these parts online, ready to assemble already, just as long as I can figure out how to put it together properly ? Sorry, building my first custom saber, just wanted to get some info/advice on where to find the things I need. I have a couple design ideas, and I considered using the Epoch hilt from Saber Forge as my base unit. wasn't sure whether I could begin it as a stunt piece or with just sound, and then add something like Emerald to it later when I have the cash. Can you tell me if that's possible

These are great! I'm sure my customers will start asking if I can incorporate something like this into the sabers I build for them. If they do, I want to make sure you are okay with me getting the parts from you to incorporate into my custom builds. I would give you the credit for the crystal chamber, of course.

They aren't my creation and I won't take someone else's design as my own. Besides, these are 3D printed, plastic parts. My OTS sabers use an all-metal framework for durability. These simply wouldn't work in the OTS line.

I can't figure out how to use the MHS chassis to mount all the electronics at the front because the motor gets in the way of the disk that will hold the chassis in place. Any solutions to this? I really want the chamber at the rear of my saber.

What is the best way to go about wiring this? Directly into the switch or into the positive/negative on the board? I'm looking for the light to come on once the kill key comes on but I don't want the motor to run until I activate the saber. I'll either be using the Prizm or CF sound board. How did you wire yours up?

@@wyteyoda7831 I ended up using a newer board. CF 10. New boards have a number of auxiliary ports to wire effects to. There is a specific one for a power on light if you want to use that or there is also an RGB port depending on what kind of LED you use. And for the motor negative to the negative and the positive to one of these other ports.

@@wyteyoda7831 I don't remember if I put one on mine. I don't remember doing so but it depends on the motor. There are different powered motors that will fit in that same spot. Use Ohms Law to make sure based on what you have.

Most piping and construction use metric in America. Imperial is more for nuts and bolts, but there's still metric for that to sold side by side.

I'm completely new to this. Ordered my first saber from ultrasaber my question is are parts like the emitters and this unit you created at all comparable with ultrasaber light saber hilts and/or blades?

+slicshadow It depends on what you bought. Most Ultrasabers have MHS compatible pommels, but not all of them have MHS emitters. I'm not sure I would recommend opening up an Ultrasaber and messing with the wiring unless you have a pretty good idea of what you're doing already, anyway.

+slicshadow ultrasabers claims mhs compatibility but from what i read they basically stole the idea from the custom saber shop copied their threading and even still it doesnt always work because their tolerances arent as good as tcss

bmxriderforlife1234 Well I'm not sure how to make a part compatible without making the threading the same. As for the rest, Ultrasabers USED to have a pretty bad reputation but for the past few years they've gotten a lot better about their customer service and QC. It also saves you the trouble of wiring your own saber with TCSS.

+SakamaruNetoi what I meant was there are apparently times when the threading isn't as nicely done leading to issues could also happen to mhs stuff but doesn't because of quality control plus they didn't ask to make their stuff compatible and apparently they used to order from tcss

bmxriderforlife1234 Well, oiling can usually help with threading issues. As i said, US has upped their quality control (QC) over the years. And yeah, I don't agree with them selling stuff from TCSS as their own, but that's definitely not something they do now. Like I said, in the past they did have quite a few issues. But they've resolved a lot of them now.

Depends on the Ultrasaber. This is for MHS pieces, some but not all Ultrasabers are MHS compatible. If you had the Malice (an Ultrasaber) for example, you could screw off the pommel and add this piece to it.
