I've been working rotations on the wall, and just going lower and lower over time. Now I am able to do the rotations from standing. Huge progress by following a slow progression method.

Nice simple how to. Not so simple to do, but it gives the student a focus on whats important and how. You're a good teacher. Keep it up.

I've been working all summer on trying to do this from the floor... not quite, but almost getting it. On my first try after practicing the stand-up version I was able to do it in both directions!. Great tutorial!! I like the Nick Drake soundtrack too!

Thank you very much for sharing the "basics":) The way you teach reminds me of a Japanese martial arts teacher I had, he was very honest but he showed results from practice. I have a year old lower back issue from a former job and I've been practicing this beginner exercises for a week and I notice a difference in the feeling in my lower back. It's been helping strengthen my lower back and the are don't feel as tight as before. Moreover, I like your concept of total body awareness.

thanks for the video today is my first day using the beginner qdr pushups and these rotations and the pain in my lower back seriously has been reduced from being sore from excersice..if you see this any advice?

Great video! However when i do a bridge, my whole upper back tense up and it stops me from using full range of motion. Anybody knows how to correct this? I feel as if even if this is only beginners level, my limited range of motion stops me even from training at beginners level. I might be wrong though, any tips guys?

I would like to do Ido Portal guess it is named after you but Im not sure If i practice these workouts I get any closer to you, Will you make a full video with a weekly routine? Now I do calistenics now for a year but I want to try your method it looks more healthy for body and composition.

Any recommendations for alignment and form in the twisting low bridges?? I have a fairly flexible back, but am still building strength in movement, trying to avoid injuries.

I don't know if anyone is still looking at this thread, but I tried the low bridges and am experiencing a LOT of lower back pain, from just one set of 5 reps. I did a full warm up, generally am active, but I know I struggle with bridge work. Reading Ido's description of how the Low Bridge should reduce lumbar strain, I didn't expect to have WORSE lumbar pain (I think I may have strained it) than when I do high bridge work. Any suggestions on mistakes that people make doing the low bridge that add strain to the lumbar spine?

Hello a bit late response but... I strain low back on the regular bridge when I've lost upper back mobility and I force my head up high with the arms. This results in the lower back compensating for the missing range of motion. Try to not raise that much. I do head bridges until I can go further without pain. Please let me know if you've fixed your issue.

I feel a lot of load on my quads when I do this and very less on my hands and wrists. Am I doing it correct or should I just go back to doing it on the wall?

I pulled my neck doing the rotations into low bridge. anything I can do to fix that/strengthen my neck/prevent that?

Work your shoulders and make sure they're good. Neck usually takes over for a sloppy shoulder because they use the same muscles

I can't even get into the rotation into low bridge. I can get as far as puting my hand on the ground. I go to turn into it with my other arm and that's as far as I can get. It feels like I'l going to fall. Maybe my arms aren't strong enough.

+ceili yes, there is a progression between the standing wall and the squat to low bridge rotation: Squat in front of a wall and use the wall for support, then get lower and lower towards the floor...all of a sudden you are there, not needing the wall for support! I think the trick is to balance the weight sufficiently far "forward" in the knee direction (on top of strength and balance). It will come with practice, slow constant steps. Take care of your toes as well :)
