Rotten Renting 

She does need to let people know there is no real privacy for the toilet and shower. I certainly wouldn't rent it, even if I was by myself.

If the house was so messed up why did she continue to rent it out and stay 🤔 let me see some rat droppings I'm asking for my money back and finding a new place

I don't get the people in the comments that think cockroaches and mouse droppings are an acceptable state to rent a place out.

I manage vacation rentals, the renter should have left immediately and reported it to the platform. Her mistake was staying. There are cases where the platform will help find another place.

I'm shocked that nobody picked up the fact that even the plumber said that there's an electric wire or something like that next to the pipe which is why he didn't want to fix it so it's possible that the water pipe had a leak which in turn caused the fire or scorching and melting of the plastic pipe. So it's totally the fault of the homeowner. Was I the only one who heard her say that

That filth under the microwave has been there forever, it didn't happen during her visit. Love how the owner makes dubious faces when the lady mentions the roaches. Lady, your place has layers of grease under appliances and mouse droppings. Not a stretch there were roaches in that nastiness, too. People live in the woods without roaches and mouse droppings, it's no excuse.

Many people shoot fireworks before the holiday. Not sure if I believe the defendant that they "only" shot fireworks on the evening of July 4th.

Let's be clear filth, rodents, roaches, etc...I am NOT staying 1 night! But, also the landlord did mention the plumber didn't want to make the repair because he knew an electrical wire ran near the pipe. That could have been the cause of the burned piped.

Should of went home instead of lolling around around 7 days if it was so bad

The place was nasty but the defendant was full of it! How you're going to say the place was that nasty yet in the same breath not complain at the beginning and stay all 7 days???! 🤔 It obviously didn't bother you that bad and it makes you look nasty too because I would be damned if I see mouse droppings and lay my head and eat there! 🤢

Regardless of how folks feel about the defendant and what she should or should not have done, that shower is laughable. The owner really cut expenses there.

Out of all the court show judge’s, judge Millian is my favorite. I will miss seeing her . She’s fair, and easy on the eyes 😅one of the most beautiful women in show business. God bless her and her family. 🙏

There’s no question the defendant melted the pipe. And old dusty cabins with thousands of renters are in fact dirty no matter what. Wash the pan and move on. Leave a negative review if you didn’t enjoy your stay.

Fair ruling, plaintiff has been lucky she has had only one complaint about the shower, but a good business person will show full transparency in their listing properties.

I have a summer house in the woods in upstate NY. It's definitely not rustic, but I have lots of mice. That's just the price of living in the woods. I see wood roaches (not the same as city roaches) only in the fall, when it's starting to get cold and they're looking for a warm place to spend the winter. They can't breed, though, because the centipedes eat their eggs. Hey, it's THE WOODS!

So the plaintiff knows there's mice but doesn't believe that there's roaches too? The face she made when the defendant spoke about the two scurrying roaches was a face of disbelief. In this case, the defendant remained at the cottage for the whole time, and did not leave earlier. She would have left if it was unbearable , and be entitled for a refund. Stayed the whole time- gotta pay for the use. For the complaints the defendant brings up, she is entitled to not rerent that place again if she wasn’t satisfied. One person may dislike it; others may think it’s great. For the fire damaged pipe, it seems like the defendant caused it. However, the plaintiff should have fixed it herself for cheap, instead of paying good money to a plumber to come out there. Pex piping is cheap.

When it's advertised as rustic, it's really rustic. Didn't the renter understand that. I'm surprised it had indoor plumbing. Rustic means it really has no amenities. What was the renter expecting, the Ritz Carlton?

The bigger question is why does Judge Milian light fireworks all year around. That sounds really exciting!!!

My Wife and I rented a Rustic Cabin and I took photos because I had never seen so much Mouse Droppings in my life. The utensil draw was full not just a few.

There was at least an eighth of an inch of grease under that microwave. I would’ve left INSTANTLY just from that alone.

unfortunately In the North East Rustic Cabins are usually just that a old one room cabin. That the owners. Beleive are a Palace and they are not. If you are lucky you may find one with a loft ,perhaps a Wood stove and a inside bathroom with running water The renter. Is probably best staying at a Marriott hotel and not going the Rustic Route if that’s what she prefers because you won’t find five Star accommodations. In a old Lake house most especially one advertised as a Hunters Cabin the Owners think they have a Palace because over the years the RealEstate Values on those old shacks has Skyrocketed into very high values mainly because of the location and the Solitude often the local Town has. Maybe a gas station ,small grocery store and maybe a Ice Cream stand that’s open Seasonally no big city Franchises or anything similar so many folks are disappointed I personally love. That lifestyle But listening and looking at the renter in court she doesn’t strike me as someone that enjoys roughing it without all her modern conveniences and knows how to. Relax in that. Setting

She rents a rustic hunting cabin. Means it's in the woods. You're going to have mice, cockroaches, and even spiders. Oh my. Leave a house in the woods unoccupied for a few weeks, and you will have a few furry squatters. When I bought my country home, it was vacant for months. I had to evict some past residents. They didn't pay rent, so out they went.

I loved the People’s court and was so sad when it went off the air. It was filmed in Stanford Connecticut and I live in Connecticut. I live 45 minutes from where it was filmed, so I went to watch the People’s court between 35 to 40 times and what was really nice is while you were in the waiting room to go into the courtroom, they had tons of pizza and a full size refrigerator, full of soda and other drinks for free. What was really nice was after each case, judge Milian would come out and talk to us, and she would ask if anybody had any questions. You could ask her about her life or legal questions, and I learned so much about the law, watching the cases and asking her questions and she is one of the nicest, down to earth, people I’ve ever talked to, and she’s extremely funny, but I do love her new show Justice for the People with Judge Milian but sadly, that one is filmed in California now.

All she has to do is put an enclosure on the stairway instead of balustrades. You could do it in a few hours! GEEZ.

Cockroaches are usually a problem in urban city environments, not a rural lake house...there are other insects they may have mistaken for cockroaches. A rustic lake house is a step above camping. Wildlife n rural areas often come into even very pristinely clean lake houses because most of the time there are not people around....field mice, bats, snakes, lizards as well as various insects such as spiders, crickets, and, waterbugs

you rented it, you stayed, you pay. if you left the first or even second day and complained about the mice, and shower, and whatall, Then you can say not paying or go to court. She Stayed The Full Time!!! AND Damaged the place!

Roaches are not naturally "wooded area" dwellers. They, or their eggs came in with someone or something and found a happy home in the cottage. Generally they thrive in dark areas that are not regularly cleaned. The owner definitely should have laid out roach motels/mouse traps. Also, not letting people know about the wall-less bathroom/shower is not really an honest description of the rental. Mouse droppings and full on filth...IM OUT. That dirt was long term, not crumbs from toast.

I found a roach in my microwave at my apartment in Washington but come from Texas where 1 roach means trouble. Reported it immediately they weren’t coming from my apartment but from next door. The call prompted an inspection of their unit and they got evicted because of the state of their apartment. They moved their stove out during the remodel and there was dead roaches all over the top of the stove 🤮🤮
