Just me reacting to Konami's 25th Yugioh Anniversary video. I got hit with a lot of nostalgia. Man, they don't make Yugioh like they used to. Oh, well. Let's hope we get more awesome animations in the future!
Albaz and ecclesia are the protagonists of one of the biggest and stories in the cards. There story is told through multiple cards and archetypes. I believe their story is called the Abyss saga.
Were also getting a new box set this year for a Albaz lore that has ALL the archetypes in it to buy with new rarities and alternate arts for Albaz, Ecclesia, Albur and probably Kitt. It's just money. All the money they will get from this new set.
4:10 they are acting two archetypes called live twins and evil twins. The live twins are popular vtubers, but it's also a frond through which people contact and hire the evil twins. The evil twins are professional jewel thieves.
Yep, they're based on a musical scale with their levels and pendulum scales being reversed (levels ascend on the musical scale, while pendulum scales descend)
I want season 0 to be reanimated. Card games existed, but it was about gambling for your life in many ways. My problem with the whole toy anime genre is that they act like that particular game is the only thing that the world cares about. I love season 0 & Dungeon Dice Monsters because they showed multiple games that were popular.
As another video said and summed up a lot of peoples thoughts in the Yugioh community for years, it is INSANE how Konami as a company has been sitting on a goldmine of merchandise possibilities and sales for DECADES in the form of the card lore and the monsters themselves by just focusing on the card game. Multiple card archetypes could be made into there own manga, LN or anime series or even new games as some of the decks are based on completely different games that change how you play the card game and confuse people cause of it. Yugioh as a brand really should rival Pokemon as a merchandising giant. Who wouldn't want plushies of the Melffy's. Make model kits of Zeus and Tyhpon (the other mech in Zeus part of the short). Watch an anime with the Charmers having magicsl girl advetures in a magic school with Dharc and Lynn's story crashing into there lives and then branching off into the girls individual stories. Eric (the blue haired water one) little lizard dude has his own multi card two decade spanning lore about going from a little dude into an evil demon to a redeemed hero of justice while Wynn (green one) is the little sister of another character from a completely different archetype from the Duel Terminal Lore that is itself a massive 25 or so archetype large story thats getting new updates this year. You have Visa in the short whose basicslly a generic LN protag whose going in an interplanetary mission to grab all his alter egos on different worlds and return back to one person. This itself based on Hindu mythology of the different incarnations of the Hindu God Vishnu and his multiple incarnations. The thought of a sci fi fantasy anime alone would rack up so many viewers. You got different games they could make like a fighting game for Vanquidh Soul, an archetype based on fighting games, Vaylantz is an archetype based around table top RPG's/Skylanders where you move your Vaylantz and opponents monsters around the board to activate their effects or put your opponents or your monsters in the spell or trap zone to keep problem monsters from doing things and gunking up your opponents backrows by giving them a field spell from your deck when you put yours in. You could make rhythme games from the multiple music themed archetypes. The list is actually infinite and this isn't even the tip. And kids would like these to which is the thing. Konami was so focused on making the card game the main product they never thought to make the monsters the focus to make people want to buy the cards, even if they were shit. Give people a reason to be attached to the cards and that would boost the sales and have even more stuff to market.
I feel your frustration. It is sad that Konami has these amazing lore and story yet does nothing about it. I'm a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh, and I didn't even know 90% of what you said was going on. I really do hope that Konami will take advantage of their story-building cards and present it to us in an anime, video game, show, movie, or whatever. Like we're willing to wait 😅.
