Interesting thing - unless the wiki failed me, Twin Long Rods #1 never got localized to the TCG, so in English, there is a Twin Long Rods #2 but not a Twin Long Rods #1.
@@RinaShinomiyaVal I wish this had been mentioned during the episode - "What do you mean there's a Twin Long Rods #2 but not a Twin Long Rods #1?!?!" "In America."
There could've been an entire round for that line. He could've made one up like "gogagogi" or some shit. And don't even limit it to 4 cards. Just put whole gagagigo line up in there.
@@newderekwst3 Its english name is Santa Claws. Its jap name is Satan Claus. Only the english version changes the second word. Please look it up, so we wouldn't continue this.
Okay, I think calling Bunny Ear Enthusiast Ken Penders art is really mean. It may have a slightly big forehead but beyond that it's fine, lips and eyes are normal, it doesn't look like a weirdass human hybrid that is in pain. It looks like a normal anime bunny girl with a slightly large head.
That "someone" who made Twin Long Rods in Minecraft was me! Ma, come get the camera, I'm Internet famous or something. Now, as to what that card IS... Great question! Don't know. But great question!
Trent is written that way because the way Japanese writes treant is like “torento,” where “re” sounds like ray, but if you then use that in English they can spell it as Trent. Also Treant is only used because the Tolkien estate trademarked Ent which are the sentient trees in Lord of the Rings, similar to hobbit which became halfling.
The weird part is the fact that Hungry Burger is a WARRIOR. It makes 0 sense. They also made an archetype that somewhat supports it called Nouvelles. Some of the cards are Pendulums XD.
@RedWurm ahh so they're designed like the Pendulum cards from the very 2nd set onwards where everyone realized that they were basically 2 extra continuous spells almost no Pendulum archetype actually Pendulum Summoned because doing so actually made those archetypes worse.
@@declanmckenna6854Most pendulum focused decks throughout the games history use pendulum summons pretty regularly, and are in fact usually playing around their pendulum summon in most of their combos
That 3-2-1 Penguins bit really took me off guard for those who don't know, that show was made from the same studio that did the original VeggieTales before they got bought out.
Numbers in general get unnecessarily long names in the anime/japanese text (who'd a thunk the language with kanji would be able to fit longer names lol). For example, Numbers 32: Marine Biting Dragon - Shark Drake and Numbers 94: Crystalzero, The Princess of Polar Ice are both shortened to Number 32: Shark Drake and Number 94: Crystalzero, respectively.
They should've shortened "Number" to "Num." for all of them. Everyone would get it. And don't get me started on the fact they didn't use the shorter R.U.M. for rank up magic cards...
@@jaernihiltheus7817 part of it was probably PSCT since 'number' is referenced as a term and saying 'all 'no' monsters' on something would eventually be some nightmare to rule
The dude in charge of localizing Utopia to English had a thing explaining all the reasoning behind his changes and I'm pretty sure he said the reason he didn't shorten it to "No." is only bc it sounded too negative or something
17:01 that text is in fact not actually black. If that were a real card that text would be a reflective gold colour as that card is at least three levels above common rarity.
@@manjackson2772 No, they're real. Pretty sure I have both of them. This shit is unironically one of the things I love about Yugioh. The fact that it's all over the fucking place means that there's a little something for everybody.
It's funny that you show so many random one-off cards (or Free Agents as we call them) that when you used a card with an Archetype name it became instantly suspicious
No way someone doesn't know Hungry Burger, that's just sad Also, Numeronious Numeronia's name is technically incorrect, as the official name in the English TCG is iC1000: Numerounius Numerounia, the name in the video is the Japanese name, which, in Japanese, is "CiNo.1000 夢幻虚光神ヌメロニアス・ヌメロニア" and still fits on a card. Pretty sure the actual longest name in the game right now is "D/D/D/D Super-Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox".
16:55 "How do you know that's the name of the card" cause there's a bit of a Lie here, that is the JAPANESE name of the card, which does fit, the english name just being wht's written there, and while I and C stand for "imaginary" and "chaos" respectively, they AREN'T clarified (like they are in japanese) so the full words are not oart of the name
Hungry burger memed itself into playability. There’s a new theme of cards that are cooks and their boss monster can bring out hungry burger specifically. The whole deck revolves around giving your opponent a menu, bringing appetizers and the main course.
Three times actually. Qlis was a Pendulum Stun deck, Pepe was Tier 0 around Breakers of Shadow pack and then the Pendulum Magician FTK w/ 3 HeavyMetalfoes Electrumite that was briefly Tier 0 with SK Starving. Venom legal. 2019 Endymion was rogue I guess.
Do one with translated names, there's a certain three-starred little warrior that I'd love to see their reactions to its japanese translated name, lol.
As someone who enjoys Yu-Gi-Oh content, you will never hear me defend how the game handles text. One card, Endymion, is a Pendulum Monster, meaning it has TWO effects, depending on how it's used. Each effect, on its own, is a wall of text. Entire games have been won and lost, based upon each player's ability to read and pay attention. So when you have to use a magnifying glass to read the text and make sure you're getting the effect right, in either case, there absolutely needs to be a re-work.
Fun fact about Endymion. It only actually has 1 line on text concerning its on field effect. The rest of its text is its alternate summoning condition (that is barely used) and a list of restrictions preventing its effect.
Simply put, Pend effect: remove 6 counters, summon, pop up to number you can put counters on, then put an equal number on this guy Monster effect: unable to be destroyed with a card effect when having a counter, and you can negate a spell, and when destroyed, add any spell.
i love this more of the boys reacting to stupid yugioh cards, i wish they would do "witch of these cards are banned" and show cards like "arkana force the world"
For the next video, I think they should first write their answer in a piece of paper, show them at the same time, and then say their reasoning for choosing before revealing the correct answer. This way their answers wouldn't be influenced by the previous ones.
Once again also suggesting that ya do an archetype video, put 4 real (or maybe 3 real and 1 fake) cards and have peeps try and figure out which card is not part of an archetype!
I think you should make it clearer who chose which answer because right now it's a bit too hard to know. Maybe put a little token with their face on it or the Duel Disk icon with their name on top of the chosen answer.
Honestly, even using themes that people who are only familiar with the first anime (dark magician, blue-eyes white dragon, red-eyes black dragon, etc), I think you'll still have enough names to make this kind of quiz ....but then again using random themes like this is also entertaining...😂
Might I interest you in the capsule monster arc of yugioh? Brought to you by 4kids entertainment! For if you believe they didn't try to do pull a Pokemon. They did lol while also making an extremely obscure callback to the original manga that was based around just games in general. DnD. Card games. Poker. The knife game etc.
I want to see at some point a choice between Reign-Beaux Overking of Dark World, Grapha dragon Lord of dark world, Clorless chaos king of dark world, and Per-Lecent Overlord of the Dark world, lol
13:00 Wait, what?! Source?! 14:35 When did you talk about Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon?! (& did you talk about the other card from its archetype?) Anyway, fun video! Thanks for uploading! Happy new year, & here's looking forward to more like this from you!
I’ve never played, seen, or read Yu-Gi-Oh! in my life, never actually looked at a card except for seeing them in passing every now and then, haven’t retained any information about it ever. But I’ve watched 3 of these videos in the past couple days and I guessed Lamb Chop right off the bat because I’ve realized that they never go for the obvious jokes. It’s always some absurd stretch of the imagination that gets more confusion out of people than laughter. I would have bet money that Hungry Burger was gonna be real.
