Well done and thanks for bringing us along. The less travels roads of SW VA and SE WV are some of the most amazing and magical you can ever find anywhere. I’ve been exploring them for 20 yrs and seems every time I venture the area, I find something new and get mind blown.
I was a bit torn on how much to show, I initially was going to do off the bike segments for everything along the way but I realized I wouldn't make any progress if I did. So I'm trying to call out any interests on the route so if anyone does the ride they know what to stop and check out (or not).
Ya he really helped out, I'm operating on a shoestring budget. His donation funded this plus the next 3 videos. I'm highlighting the "best" roads so they should look pretty good... there are plenty of crappy ones too!
Lexington looks beautiful. I thought I was in England for a minute. I realized quickly that you were not because you are riding on the wrong side of the road.🤣
Lexington is pretty, it's been around since the 1700's, parking can be a nightmare with the narrow streets. If you've seen the movie "Sommersby", the outdoor scenes during the trial portion of the movie were shot here as there are no overhead power or phone lines in the downtown area and all lighting is on posts. So it retains it's old look.
It is pretty, I filmed this fairly early in the morning so traffic was light. When it does get busy parking can be an absolute nightmare due to the narrow streets and being from an age when cars hadn't been invented yet.
How interesting, to learn that one can choose to include youtube pollution (adverts). Now that I know, I appreciate Uncle Voodoo's efforts even more! Thank you! 🙂
Thanks. I know I’m not the only one who wants to watch the video I clicked on, not an ad every few minutes. I’ve stopped watching videos before because the ads were too annoying.
What a shame, to realise that others deliberately sully our viewing experience for their own personal gain! Anyway, right now, I wish I could shake your hand... thanks. 🙂
Believe it or not, when you comment on the bike sounding good- it gives me some relief and validation... as I'm obsessed with the audio in my videos. It doesn't matter how good the video looks- If the audio is terrible then the video itself becomes unwatchable. So when I get comments on the bike sounding good, to me it means the audio is ok. Thanks for watching and for the comments, btw I love the sound of the bike too!
Thanks for posting, great video really enjoyed it. The roads and scenery look great. Is there much made of the revolutionary war history of the town? Would love to visit. Your bike sounds awesome by the way 👌. Thanks to Dan
Not much here from the revolutionary war, everything here leans towards the civil war... I cant throw a rock without hitting something named Lee or Jackson. If I can get over to the Williamsburg area, there is more colonial history there.
I didn't know either until I was checking to see if it would link up to another road.... it did but it kept going, and going, and going. So I zoomed out a bit on the map and traced it across several states, at which point I stopped and just googled it. It's one of those "learn something new everyday" things I guess.
