NOTE - Rovan now supply the engine with a RUStar carburettor that delivers more fuel so running lean shouldn't be an issue now but the engine is still, ultimately limited by the exhaust as the ones available are simply too small and restrict the flow an engine of this capacity can produce. It still ideally needs a company to make an exhaust pipe specifically for the engine to get the most from it**
After modifying the exhaust header to fit and changing the fly wheel so I could use a normal pull starter (Exhaust wouldn't fit as the stock pull starter is too big) I managed to get out with it.
It ran lean as heck and after getting back home and removing the carb the needles look like they've not been machined correctly which would explain why I couldn't get the engine to bog down like normal when turning the H speed needle all the way out.
I've ordered a brand new, genuine Walbro 1107 to see if that cures the problem (It should) before I pass judgement on the performance.
