A lovely DVD, and very happy to see my own personal Dorchester Red 75 is on the cover.

Hello Julian. I always try to get as many personal cars in as possible but not many make it onto a cover/DVD inlay. Seem to be selling a few copies today so I wonder if you've given it a plug somewhere else too? John.

Hello John, yes I have promoted it for sure. I have emailed you about the cover photo which you have sent to me. Julian is my youtube name. I am from Holland and still have the car, just drove it today again. Happy with the dvd, you have done the 75 justice and delivered excellent work making the documentary. Thanks, regards from Holland.

Hopefully we'll all be able to get together and enjoy all the great British classic cars again in 2021. I want to get something organized at the Gaydon British Leyland Day but I need to wait and see a while before we know that will be a goer in July. John.

I’m an absolute 75 and ZT fan always have been I’m now driving a 2.5 V6 Mk1 75 and enjoying it so much more than my previous car ( 2019 Volvo V90 ) great car but just a car , unlike the 75 !!

The Rover 75 is a classic. Not very often a saloon car gets the 'classic' status so quickly but it had all the ingredients right from the start. John.

Really want to buy and watch this. Have no DVD or Blu ray player as it’s no longer 2008. Think your missing a trick not being able to stream this.
@JohnGClancy
@JohnGClancy 3 года назад
That's because of piracy Ed and it's just not an option. I have gone into it all in great detail and there's no one other than the big boys who can take the risk of a download or a stream. Blu-ray is absolutely fabulous and no stream can match it, even if the streamer is claiming 4K. Has to be seen to be believed just how good the Blu-ray of this massive production is so have a look at places like Argos where you'll find you can get a Blu-ray player for about £60 and you'll love the quality it gives you. You can then collect your favourite movies on disc too which is a wonderful passtime if you love films. John.

75 was a nice car. I had a black/black leather 2ltr auto Connie for a couple of years Reg No was R40 ---. It had niggles, n/s rear door lock jammed and the throttle stuck open! Sold it for peanuts and bought an S-Type Jag, a different class.
@JohnGClancy

Up to now everyone has told me the Rover 75 was the better car but it seems you didn't think so David. There are always going to be cars off the line that suffer one or two production woes and don't prove to be as good as they should be and it seems you had one of those. The earlier cars have the better reputation overall.

Hello ! I was wondering if one day a digital version will be available for sale, I don't own a DVD / Bluray player and I don't want to invest in this type of material just for a disc. Even my car radio in my 75 no longer has a disc player! Thx, a french viewer (75 cdt 2001 HFF owner)
@JohnGClancy
@JohnGClancy 3 года назад
I might do something one day Sezario but that won't be for many years. Whatever, it's unlikely I'll ever be able to match the quality of the Blu-ray and quality is an important thing for me. Also, none of the extras would make an appearance and they are all a vital ingredient of the product as a whole. Shame you never got into disc because you'd be astounded by modern Blu-ray compared to the crap we stream or download. Keep driving that beautiful car! John.

Hey John, this looks fantastic. Just wondering if theres any way to be notified when the full thing is available to buy?
@JohnGClancy
@JohnGClancy 4 года назад
Greetings Euan. It's available now on www.triumphdvd.co.uk which is my web site. I've not let any other dealers have it and probably won't for a year or so. My recommendation is the Blu-ray for the exceptional image quality but if you haven't got a player this double disc is worth investing the £50 or so in a player just for the quality upgrade. I have squeezed very good quality out of the DVD too though.

I’ve got my grandads one that he bought in 2002, it’s a June 1999 registered 2.5 in Atlantic blue JEY. T125DVV

Grandad chose a great car there Jordan. Only area to really keep an eye on over the comings fifty years or so (!!!) is the sills which if not kept fully protected can disintegrate. It's not something that is seen often but they can rot for England if you're unlucky. John.

Owned a ZTT for two years now excellent car ....still have a 75 Tourer with 215k on it which is now a parts car for the other , no rust in either car ....thanks to Neil Wedgebury and his team ...hope you are well , enjoyed the visit to Longbridge you organised in the 1990s , so many skills and knowledge ripped out of the West Midlands..very sad
@JohnGClancy
@JohnGClancy 3 года назад
Sadly Neil Wedgbury died in Summer 2019. He was a one-off. That wasn't me who organized the Longbridge visit in the 90s but I wish I'd joined you for that one. It's so sad to see it derelict and slowly disappearing today. But the future is looking much brighter for the UK right now so we may find all sorts of industry starting up in the coming years.

@@JohnGClancy Thanks for the sad news John , I knew Neil for a few year's as we were both Military Vehicle owners , the Longbridge visit was very interesting as I was an owner of a vehicle restoration business at the time , Neil told me that when BMW bought Rover they were " Gob Smacked " that the Rover painting system was better than anything they had in any of their own factories at the time ! Expect all that is now in China....,when I was they were building the new Rover 200 and Mini's for Japan fitted with Aircon, deep pile carpets and leather interior . The demand for the Mini in Japan was such they could not keep up with it , from what I remember 3 shifts 6 days a week....I know Neil left when he could see what was going on with the " Gang of Four Thieves "

@@settertwo What turned up when making this documentary was that the Pheonix Four may have got a bad rap when they weren't really the crooks they were portrayed to be. Whatever, I think we've realized in more recent times that we can't believe a damned thing the mainstream media tell us. We have one of the last Longbridge Minis: a Cooper Sport 500 from September 2000. Despite the fabulous paint shop the car still rusted and we had to get it sorted a few years back to ensure it was nipped in the bud. It now looks even better than when it was new. I put a video of Neil up with our Mini so let me find the link and I'll paste it in: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9NhP54RMN9w.html John.
