@@jaankhan3221 Social media is used for entertainment, as well as it is for socializing. Social media is websites and applications that enable users to create and share content, and this is what RU-vid is all about. RU-vid is a video sharing media platform in which people also use for socialization, such as we are doing. Lots of people just don't consider RU-vid to be a part of social media, because the main thing about RU-vid is watching videos, and not just posting comments.
@@THE-WAY_THE-TRUTH_THE-LIFE. Ok consider that I am an illitrate person who dont know anything. Please define social media. I want to know and then I will agree with your explanation. Thanks 😊
@@THE-WAY_THE-TRUTH_THE-LIFE. As he said that he is not on social media while he have RU-vid channel with almost 25 Million subscribers. What do you think about that?
Social media never existed in many people's early adulthood, suddenly it appeared out of nowhere and it still doesn't seem appealing except to those desperately seeking attention.
But now we're on RU-vid, people think that RU-vid is not Social media. According to my mind RU-vid is 60% Social Media 40% about Educational and Problem Solving.
@@HardTalk1 youtube, discord and skype could technically be considered "social media", but they're not places where you post pictures of yourself to get likes from others, and are expected to like other people's pictures. You can use certain platforms as a tool for self growth, discord/skype to talk to people and better your social skills, youtube to learn a programming language, or a certain skill to build a career. Facebook/snapchat/twitter/instagram/tiktok, etc don't serve many important purposes unless you're using them for advertising, they simply promote insecurity and many other attention related problems.
@@AMiah-jz8uu I don’t think he does. He certainly deserves an honour. I prefer Blackadder to Mr Bean but I’ve been a huge fan of Rowan’s since Not The Nine O’Clock News. He’s fantastic in everything he does.
@@jcp1756 if he WAS Blackadder then he would of said “I have a cunning plan, so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a Weasel.” He’s actually Inspector Fowler.
it's so cool to see the interviewer realising midpoint through that he's not joking around but actually sharing an interesting thought. she stopped giggling, started actually listening, and the crowd grew silent. that's the power of his intellect. and it's even more captivating when he doesn't speak at all, like mr bean
Oh my god!!!! Mr.Bean talks so much differently!!! Mr.Atkinson, please bring back Mr.Bean!!!!!! You're a legend!!!! Love you Mr.Bean!!!!! Where's teddy???!!!
Well said! Totally agree! All his personal is HIS personal and not other's business. And all nosy people go to hell. This is one of the reasons why I respect this man.
It’s funny how so many of us (including myself) whole heartedly know how discomforting social media is for us, yet we continue to use them and compare our lives to random individuals on these toxic platforms. :/
I remember watching a scene of Mr Bean where a group of kids in his locality visit him and sing carols on Christmas eve. He listens to them enjoying the moment and then shuts the door on their face after they finish singing. It was savage and hilarious....
Oh remember.... they finished the song because he held a box of chocolate ... they all assumed it's for them and finished the song quick.... and then he shut the door once the stopped :D
@@TheGhastlybaker I don't know much of the details, but I vaguely remember one of the episodes I saw on TV. It still makes me laugh whenever I recall it.
The constant use of cell phones and “social media” are two of the worst things that have happened to humanity in my life time. Way worse than Covid 19.
The interviewer is coming across with what looks like false enthusiasm ,the equivalent of watching a US comedy with a recorded laughter track .....contrast that with Rowan Atkinsons calmer and understated manner...she laughs excessively where it seems unconvincing and contrived ... Maybe that's an English man's view of American TV hosts ..some will agree some will not
No mate, I agree, and I'm an Aussie expat who has lived here over 21 years. Americans, except for my friends of course, are the most vacuously-contrived and ardorous in their over-exhuberant responses to anything. One can see a lot by experiencing it from the inside. Now it's great that we get to benefit from all their stuff, but it also comes with having to put up with some of their bullshit as well. Americans are the ideal phenotype, the blueprint for how the expression of Social Media was laid down. What's even worse is their latest export. I call it the 'American Sickness', a chuck up of 'irritable discourse'. It's a swirl down the toilet bowl of disassociated intelligence. And it's worse than bloody covid, mate. Even my Downunda' Homeland has caught it now! It's so bad. There seems nowhere now that one can relax in serenity. It's the "two minutes hate" online, all the time, and everywhere. So Atkinson was ahead of his time in not plugging in to this crap. Myself, I've been off Facebook for a while but - as a wistfully-budding writer - I haven't yet been able to kick the habit of responding by writing essays to comments on youtube videos. Lol. 😎⚡💥 . . .
Almost 20 years ago, I was very sick to the point we thought I might be dyeing. One of the things that I did which was a huge help to me was watching every Mr. Bean show/movie that I could get my hands on. Even the Bible states how laughter is like a medicine. Well I didn't die, but I do love the Mr. Bean and the Johnnie English movies. They perk me up when needed. Thank you Rowan Atkinson.
Yes, as a celebrity Rowan Atkinson made a wise choice to separate his professional comedy work from overexposing his personal life & views on social media. With cancel culture, a controversial/ misinterpreted post could give haters the power to tarnish his reputation with no forgiveness. Instead, he's saving himself trouble keeping his personal life private. That's good self care! Having social media is certainly not for everyone. It must be toxically energy draining for some celebrities to walk on eggshells having to please their entire fanbase.
@@wonderingshit I don't use Twitter, but that's so true I bet. When you can't rely on people, just rely on trees to give you oxygen to breathe. However if a person marries a tree on social media, fans & critics on social media might cancel out the person & the tree, so maybe we won't be able to breathe nvm 😂
He is true. Social media is unrelaxing. Imagine having a life with no worries how many subscribers you will have on RU-vid, or how many likes/followers you will gain on Instagram.
She doesn't get it. The problem with today's 'entertainers' is it's all about them. They spend more time talking about themselves than doing actual creative work. Rowan comes from a time when artists created things for others to enjoy. They weren't preoccupied with having a public profile.
The difference also lies in what the celebs were raised with. Social media wasnt around when they have their flourishing careers, and they made a line where their work life and personal life never met. Even after social media came about, some celebs adopted while some maintained their lifestyle
Rowan Atkinson is a funny man and he's very interested on all! He is my favorite humor comedian star! He's always great and funny! I hope he has just a long life! Also he had a long life yet!
Actually I would put it more like: Rowan Atkinson reveals his influence and the history behind the creation of Mr. Bean Title of the video : ROWAN ATKINSON REFUSES TO BE ON SOCIAL MEDIA!
I still remember, before my papa passed away, he always watch MR.BEAN CLIPS, it makes him laugh all the time while he was in a hospital. And now, I still watch mr.bean whenever I miss my papa. 💓
He was absolutely fantastic as 'Maigret' he totally owned the best performance of that particular character that I've ever had the pleasure to watch! The man is an outstanding actor and comedy icon, in my opinion!
In England many have actual communities, so they have traditional meetings (in person) and traditional gossip. Both of which are better in person than in social media. So Social media is more for people deprived of those...
@@foljs5858 I meant it like, they're not into social media to interact with their fans. I liked that about them though (most celebs i admire are english ☺) because it leaves like a sense of mystery and privacy. It's like saying, "it's enough that you know me through my works, my personal life is my own". And it also means they don't get their fame to their heads.
social media is where idiots spend all their time. it's for people with the attention span of a walnut, the culture of a vegetable and the depth of a footprint. stopped using it as a teenager over a decade ago, and i do not miss it.
Very true. I only use Facebook on and off now. There's good things about it. But it's also a waste of time and energy and flooded with crap and village idiots.
@@shivamwasp no one is saying it's not, they're saying that it's been used for so many disgusting purposes, so many terrible things are happening on social media including RU-vid, infact the comment section is the worst thing they ever did.
I could never agree more on what he said about social media. I respect this man so much not only because he was a part of my childhood but also as a brilliant person.
I still remember those childhood days When I didn't want to eat without seeing Mr. Bean 😊 We will never forget you SIR...☺️❤️ You've been through a lot of our childhood ☺️✨❣️
he literally make my childhood worth remembering.... he make millions or billions of people around the world laugh without uttering a single word..... thanks for the happiest childhood memories sir rowan atkinson.....
Only social media i use is youtube. And even then, the content i watch has changed drastically, from watching beauty gurus & useless vlogs to actually watching videos of people giving their advice, talking on different topics, videos on history and on things I find interesting like fossils, different sea animals, etc. I have learned a lot from RU-vid.
Mr. Bean had me in stitches many times, most remarkably when falling asleep in church and when trying to jump off a high diving board. The sketch where he mutilated a rare and ancient library book was too much! Brilliant man.
Although I'm not a fan of Mr. Bean.. much respect to Rowan.. He's a lot more than one character... And the world could definitely use a few more like him.. Awesome Guy!!
Same here. I don't have any social media accounts nor do I ever plan to get one. No one needs to know every move you make. The government does that enough already
So, ' this is the first time I've heard his voice for the first time...'. When was the first time you heard his voice the second time? Or, when was the second time you heard his voice for the first time? Looking forward to your answer/s, first and second time.
In my opinion one of the most popular actor across the world. I have seen people laughing to his performance everywhere irrespective of region, colour, religion or language. Deserves lots of applause.
