@tgmartin
@tgmartin Год назад
He's not management material unfortunately, there's not many elite level players that are. I'm an Arsenal fan and as much as the idea of Tony Adams becoming Arsenal manager is a lovely idea, he's clearly not management material. Vieira's doing quite well at Palace but I'd still have my doubts about him making that step up and I wouldn't want him to tarnish his legacy. I used to think Keane would be a great management material due to having the same winners mentality that Ferguson had, however Fergie knew when the hairdryer was needed and when it wasn't, whereas Keane only seems to have one gear. Fergie also knew (having not necessarily been a top-level player himself) how to get the best out of more average players (Phil Neville, Welbeck, etc) which is not something Keane appears to have in his locker
@anthonymclennan3208
@anthonymclennan3208 Год назад
@@tgmartin Good points, can't really argue with that and I would hate to see him tarnish his legacy. Just feel he deserves another chance, that there are worse managers out there and Keane still has a lot to offer. Perhaps working at a smaller club first would show if he's able to adapt to today's players/ environment. He seems calmer these days, but it's one thing being in the TV studio and another managing a team!
@tgmartin
@tgmartin Год назад
@@anthonymclennan3208 Ipswich was clearly a bad fit for him for a variety of reasons. You're probably right in terms of there being worse managers out there but as it's been a while since he's been in management I do wonder if the ship has sailed for him. But maybe a club like MK Dons would be a good fit for him, like they were for Ince and DiMatteo. They've got a good academy and they're generally quite patient with their managers.

The problem is from a young age we have been made to think a mistake is a negative thing. But you learn more from your mistakes then you do from your victories. The other problem is people find it hard not to forget your mistakes. Look at Roy Keane. His career is tarnished by his discipline record his attack on Haaland etc he’s portrayed as a villain but only a few will remember how much of a brilliant player he was. Zidane at his last World Cup will always be remembered for his headbutt in his final World Cup not the fact he got player of the tournament and the brilliant penalty he scored against Italy before getting sent off. But what I will say life is a marathon and in the end it’s only with yourself. Your critics won’t be there in your final days only your family will do look after yourself and your family because in the end that’s all that will be left.

The conversations that have taken place in the media of late is another example of how a superstar like CR7 can put his influence to good use (not saying he is the first but in the recent context of how, many footballers, especially those playing in massive clubs with massive fan base, are often at the receiving end of abuse in the online world which seems to show no mercy or sympathy). Making his meeting with Jordan Peterson public seems to have made many realise that we need to talk about mental health- that footballers are also normal human beings with struggles at different levels- from personal to professional, and that there is no shame in admitting you have struggles and in seeking help. Props to MNF for following up on a very important topic which has often been swept under the rug.

This is why I have massive respect for Ronaldo. Similar knee injuries made world beaters into shells of their former selves- R9, Torres and Falcao to name a few but that put more fire under the hood for CR7. Doubted he’d be as good as before after his 2014 injury, especially seeing him play that WC through injury The man gets constantly doubted, never given his proper flowers, is simultaneously the most famous and most hated player of all time- all for what? Because he knows how to score goals? Because he wants to test himself in other leagues? Because he wants to win every single thing he is a part of? Imagine you, yes you who are reading this comment in his shoes. Think of what you do on a daily basis, what you do in daily life. Now imagine all that put on the big screen for all to see. Imagine being scrutinized for every single thing that you do. Ronaldo sold one of his golden boots to give to charity yet he gets trolled for scoring- yet he gets called a selfish player. Imagine having that level of hate, most of which is undeserved, towards you. Imagine dedicating your entire life and being into something, into a career that entertains millions and billions of people and half of those same very people put you down every single chance they get Absolutely ridiculous

@@tevildo45 you mean Ronaldo, not Brazilian Ronaldo, R9 is Ronaldo, Cristian Ronaldo is Cr7/cristiano/cristiano ronaldo And you are correct he never had a serious injury like Ronaldo did. This kid is using Roy Keane talking about mental health to mention a finished 38 year old bench warmer, eww.

I have watched a lot of Roy Keane videos over the last few months. I cannot understand why any club wouldn't want Roy Keane as their manager. The will to win should be at the top of every executives number one priority. Roy Keane is it! Only thing is he is probably not the manager modern footballers want to play for. A shame!!

I must say I love how Roy doesn’t fall for the bait of pity me I’m suffering. He lets us know it’s normal to suffer especially with high pressure situations that come with the game of football it being a manèger or a player.

@@jhpfdijtuiweruot lmao all those reasons for defining mental health I couldn’t do the same for defining “love” or “hate”.
