@@melvyndolby8625 what you should also mention that Scholes wasn't playing central midfield during the early part of his career but more as a deep lying forward or CAM. Keano won the double double while in central midfield without Scholes!!!

Can't find this video of Gerrard saying Keane was the best midfilder in PL history anywhere. Are you talking shite? I actually think Keane is right up there but I don't believe that Gerrard would have said it.

@@johnpaulmcdonnell1188 I don't know if there is a video anywhere, but he definitely said words you could interpret to that effect on his episode of "The Greatest Game with Jamie Carragher" podcast. He was talking about playing against Scholes, Lampard, Keane and Vieira and Jamie asks: which one of those was the best? and he answers right away with "Keane". I suppose that doesn't explicitly confirm he thinks of Keane as the best in PL history (he could think it was himself, or maybe Yaya Toure or someone else), but close enough, no? It should be within the last five minutes of the podcast if you want to find it yourself.

He got injured in the first half in this game. had to be subbed out. Missed the next 2 months. Came back and was the best player in the world carrying an average team to a CL win singlehandedly. Should've won the Balon d'or in 2005. Ronaldinho deserved 2006 more than he deserved 2005.

Don't talk bollocks, and I'm a Utd fan. Gerrard did for Liverpool what Robson did for Utd. Both of them played in teams that wasn't as good as previous / later ones. The 2 league winners medals that Robson got, he didn't feature much by then, usually on the subs bench. No one deserved one more than Gerrard. Any Utd fan with a brain will agree with me on that
