Roy played for my mother and father at the russel hotel in smiths falls ontario they have food memories of him i kind of went down a bad lane myself and went to jail and my mother passed well i was in their and they played this for her from me and i have smartened up my act since and think of her everyday ,love you mom we will see each other again always in my heart ❤

This song was written by Curly Putnam (Green Green Grass of Home), and it sounds a bit like that one as well. First commercial recording was by Charley Pride in 1967, on the album "Pride of Country Music". I'm partial to Charley's version, but probably mostly because that is when I first heard the song. Roy gives a great interpretation and performance on this song as well.
