A film made in 1965 about the Royal Ballet of Cambodia, featuring performances and an introduction to the tradition. I have not been able to find out who made the film, but it is now in the public domain. I have split the film into four sections:
1. The Story of Jayavarman II (about the founder of Angkor)
2. The Dance School (training sessions)
3. The Hermit and the Kinnari (a delightful tale)
4. An Offering to the Ancestors (a royal offering)
This section tells the legendary story of Jayavarman II, who was the King who founded the Angkor civilisation.

Share culture is common around the world. Look at the British and the Scottish, Ireland,Wales. Same with the Thais and Cambodia, but very complicate relationship between the two cultures.

But what we see here in this video, the dance the music is influenced by the Thai intellectuals and culture because of Thais are not in direct war for over 200 years while Cambodia is under French(before French was the Siam or Early Thai you can say). Thai and the Khmer had a great relationship because the two kings are relative as we can say like father like son. But when the French came they create propagandas to lower the strength of the two nation so they are more easy to manipulate. The French even state in there journal that they were the first to discover the lost temple which is BS!!! But this propaganda continues in Cambodia, in my opinion this is because Cambodia is a new nation compare to Thailand they never had pride in their history so the easiest way is to look around and claim the share culture that there neighbors developed while the Cambodia are still being slaves for other nation to profit. Cambodia is like70-80 years old. There intellectuals were all wiped out not long ago so you can see all those comments claiming others identity and culture 😅 I live in Thailand and have traveled through many countries in SEA, this is one of the saddest country I have ever visit their pass is terrible and yet present, their people still live the history of pride and ego rather than trying to educate and understand which is sad because their government are making it worse😢

Sorry if my comments are like a pro Thai nationalist but I am actually very interest in SEA history. I have been trying to find videos and documentaries about Angkorwat but not much to see online. Am ex NationalGeography from India said something like if they what to go to Cambodia they must not bright up history that hurts the peoples feeling they say( hurts the propaganda) many facts and reasons have been ignored in that country just sad for the people, hope it end soon.
