Ben is the reason i got inspired to drum 5 years ago. His drumming is simple enough to enjoy it whilst learning and yet he loves to add stuff in to make sure you as a drummer are awake. And yeah, he has no issues with covers as we can hear!
+YoutanPoluo IF I understand he runs it through an up tuner on one channel into a guitar amp and a clean bass through another with a multi switch into a bass amp. So he gets both at the same time and can switch between the two if he wishes. It is truly a unique style.
You can take a guitar amp with a good bottom end for a dirty sound and a good bass amp for cleans and a switch/blend between the two. Take that and combine it with some fuzz and overdrive pedals for this distorted sound. Throw in an octaver, synth or envelope filter (or wah if you want more controll) for some extra fills and put it under controll with an EQ pedal and you are ready to go.
This is amazing. They added a bit of filth to it which is always a winner in my book. It sounds like it could have been one of their own songs which is testament to how good this cover is.
dude the drums in this song are good but loads of their songs have massively better, more ornamented drumming. I don't know where you got that idea from.
My thoughts exactly. They managed to put their own spin on the song while still keeping it recognizable and doing that with only bass and drums takes balls. Oh. Did you also just sing the "Roxaaaaaane!" part yourself, to salvage the situation?
Duality dude yes!! I’m so tired of hearing QOTSA they sound nothing like QOTSA only the debut album QOTSA, even that I don’t get a direct QOTSA feel from royal blood, at all lol. I listen to QOTSA pretty much all day lol, royal blood as well and don’t get QOTSA vibe from them at all. Only the early stuff and that’s the riffs
