Royal Enfield Classic 350 Test Ride 

I have owned this bike for 2 months now and have already put 2,500 miles on it! I just cannot.. I repeat.. CANNOT STOP RIDING IT! no rider pain, no discomfort whatsoever... I also take it on the highway for about 26 minutes everyday at about 65mph and it does well. Also it feels nice to stand out on the road, everyone including sports bikes riders comment on it, and pull up next to me to chat about the bike. A lot of people think it's a classic bike from the 80's and 70's that I have restored lol.... They are always surprised when I tell them it's a brand new 2022 bike! I will never part with this bike no matter even when I get my adventure bike next year.

Less music more sound of the bike that’s why we are here for the sound of the bike and the character of the bike. Very nice bike I would definitely have one.

Just bought three of these - me, son and friend. I've been riding since 1971, and this is probably the most fun I've had since then! I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes, but make no mistake, this one is a blast, and affordable! In my case, we got the Classic 350 "Reborn" models. OTD, with all taxes, fees, etc, they were about $6500. I feel that they were a great buy! The fun we are having hasn't worn off one bit! I'm 6'-4", 230lbs and it is extremely comfortable! If you think it fits the bill for you, do it. I'm still amazed at how much fun this thing is, and you can't go anywhere without getting into a conversation over these bikes :) Ride safe all!

If you are above 6'2" inches like me , please do yourself a justice don't buy the interceptor and go for classic 350 , interceptor is a little cramped , maybe you should wait for super meteor 650 which is just a month or two away from launch in india and a month later it will be globally available

Like your stand on the adds. 👍, I just bought the 350 classic in the same colour from the same dealer in Ballarat, great people. I love mine, I did have to move the gear lever up 2 notches to get my size 13s under it for upshifting, as you pointed out.

Thank you for the interesting and concise video. I am going through the same process at the moment. I have tested both bikes in question, the Classic 350 about 3 weeks ago and the Interceptor 650 yesterday here in the UK. I am 6ft 4. I found the Classic to be very endearing with good handling and a lovely characterful engine sound and it fitted me although I do agree with you about the gear lever being too low although this can be rectified fairly easily. I then tried the Interceptor. What an engine! Very torquey and quite quick but my back felt bent with the position of the bars so I would definitely need bar risers fitting. So a bit of a dilemma for me although I have another bike for longer distances (GS) so this bike would be for pottering around the lanes. Looking forward to your next video to see what you decided (if anything).

Got the same bike, I'm 6ft and had no problem with the gear lever or pegs took 10 minutes to get used to. Great fun to ride and looks great too. Just finished running mine in and the engine smooths out when run in properly.

The engine gets more willing as it runs in. I can sit at 110kmph all day. I'm 80kg and top speed is 118kmph. For overtaking you need the same mindset as when you're in a car. Overtaking is not going to happen quickly. It's a bike that's not about speed. Its about motorcycling, itself is the destination. I quite often go on long trips on mine and just enjoy the ride.

That’s why I capped my growth at 5’8” - perfect for most bikes, cars. It’s a charming little commuter bike with mega character. Shame you don’t get the little direction finder. Maybe Enfield should rename it the Integrity - I think it has heaps.

LOVE that this video is in Australia. I have been watching a few videos but they’ve all been in India or USA. I have recently bought one myself, and lol forward to riding it. I am 5’4”.

I haven't seen all of the comments, but I thought you would like to know that 13 l is equivalent to 3.434 gal not 29.8. The review was on point for me, a 6'2" older man. Thanks for the post.

You can replace the foot gear lever with a heel and toe shifter easily. I got mine already fitted when I took the delivery of my classic 350.

I’m 6’3’ and really enjoyed the 350 test ride I had. I liked it more than the Bonneville 1200 - obviously slower but just a really feel good bike at a good price. I’m buying one as a second bike.

I'm 6' 3", had to put an inflatable cushion on the seat to raise myself up a bit. Now it's much better for me.

This is my 47th bike...Freblades to Harleys, Vespas to off road Beemers... hands down the most fun I've had. I love power and speed, but I love what this can do... I have put thousands of miles on mine and she sits all day flat out throttle to the stop.... and doesn't seem to care... its a proper bike...

Re your comment on the tyres - - check the tyre pressure and set it to 28 psi front and 34 psi rear - no more problems. Just an observation from a Classic 500 owner.

Hopefully RE will make a Classic with the 650 engine. I read in the internet that maybe for May 2023

Humm maybe a heal/toe shift lever would be in order. The model's with cast wheels tubeless tires would make more for easier repairs on road and option a longer seat . Good review.

Well that qualifies for an instant thumbs up! I wish they’d do a slightly larger one that isn’t stressed cruising at 80mph, as everywhere i go i’ll have to take a dual carriageway and/or motorway at some point.

I like the Halcyon Grey (that looks light blue to me). Hope a 500 or 650 comes out though.

I looked at one at a dealership. Nice looking.was concerned about the small displacement. First thing the dealer told me was not to go in the freeway with it. In TX most drive about 70-80 or higher., Took a chance and got in 1 long exit on the freeway. I thought I was going to get run over. Back roads it’s OK.

I rode a RE classic 500 for a year. Man its a beast. Best high power bike for that price. Shame RE stopped its sale and went for 650cc

If the bike has covered 1250 miles then fully run in with a free flow air filter fitted makes all the difference better mid range I’ve had a interceptor back in 2019 one of the first ones in the UK I sold mine after a 1000 miles I found the riders foot pegs placed in the wrong position as I own several bikes Ihad to keep placing my feet wider apart or in front of the pegs when putting my feet down very irritating A good review Thankyou

Nice Honest review. Unless you intend to ride in thin training shoes, then moving the gear lever is a pre-requisite on the Classic 350,, way too low in it's standard position, Several reviewers have videos on how to do this, as several of the frame bolts need to be slackened off to pull the lever out far enough to turn it. Only takes a few minutes fo do, and transforms the riding experience. My first ride was a nightmare with big clunky boots!. stay safe!

Its not for blasting . Its a plodder with loads of character . Imho at 55 -60 its fine . For those of us who absolutely hate boring highway riding and avoid them if possible on long journeys you can tour fine on these. Looks wise its one of the prettiest out of the box bikes on the market especially the two chrome models

What types of tires would give the Classic 350 a better ride?

I think it needs a 450 engine in it ,it’s just a little bit low in power ,it is probably ok in India but for Australia a bit under powered for what we need here may be one day R E might do it ,besides that it’s a nice bike thy have done a good job on it

The sound is absolutely great! For me the best of all bikes. The sitting position is not the best as the footpegs are too much in front.

The Jawa 300 looks more the part out of all the classic styled bikes . Any of the Honda cub type bikes with 125 cc engines will probably do the same be more reliable & handle better & more handy dealerships .

Halcyon green. Is this a good color for this motorcycle? Halcyon gray is nice, but no longer available. Halcyon black is a bit boring.

If you want a tad more power, install a DNA air filter, remove the catalyst and put on a 16T gearbox sprocket. This combination greatly improves motorway riding

Twenty horses and a realistic top speed of 100 km/h - I have the feeling that other riders look down on me because I ride an anemic 750 with only 54 horses... Why not a 500 you could actually pass a truck with on the highway or the BSA 650 single?

Thanks for the video. I have been riding 15 yrs, I'm trying to financially position myself for a Road King or Indian Springfield next year. I currently have a 2016 Sportster 1200 (Harley), but was thinking of trading it and picking up a RE Classic 350 in order to drop my payment and have an easier payoff for this bike, but am concerned because I've always ridden much faster and more powerful bikes. Most of my riding is either small city commuting or back road mountainous riding, so I'm usually not sustaining speeds over 70 mph, but if this bike tops out at that, it might be pushing my limits for speed. When I get the chance I do haul well over 70 mph, but this might be a good "in-between" bike that is cheap enough to keep around if I do get the Road King next year. Hmmmmm

Holding out for a bigger engine on the Classic (500?). I tried the Interceptor. Though it may have just been that bike, the engine ran a little unevenly, and I found both the throttle and the brakes a bit jerky. Not sure if those edges would smooth out with time, but I wasn't willing to take that chance on a new ride. Might still try the 350, but the lack of power just holds me back. It really just needs a bit more horsepower to cruise all day at 120 km, which would be good enough for me.

195kg seems awfully heavy for 350cc bike, certainly heavier than I'd recommend for first bike and more weighty than many bikes twice its size. I'm surprised the weight didn't get a mention; it's a lot for its size and a lot for 20 odd horsepower.

Just noticed something my Interceptor doesn't have which the 350 does...a clock.

Exhaust note is so beautiful and here stock exhaust has no sound at all like totally dead.

Simple, ad block the ads and some revenue comes from the people who don't. You don't see them but some do, so less revenue but better than none. Just look for an ad block extension.

I got the classic 350 and it can reach 115 kmph easy.

If you like the relaxed type of engine I’d suggest a test-ride on the RE Himalayan. Roomier than the 350 and armchair comfort.

This thing should have lots of range, considering it carries nearly 30 US gallons of fuel.

Fair review. This is my daily commute bike. All Royal Enfield's are very basic, under-powered and boring to ride. The sweet spot is 60-75 kmph. As soon as you stress the engine there is excessive vibration and gaskets begin to leak oil. This gets worse as the kms add up. They sell the bike cheap but the cost of ownership (maintenance) is very high. On the positive side the Classic is a good looking bike, it holds the road well and great to ride to the bazaar and back (certainly not meant for highways- not even in India).

I like the classic styling of Royal Enfield, but the motors are just too small.

Nope, I completely disagree with the top end part. Mine is completely run in and sits flat out at 75mph for hours and hours on end. She is detuned to do this. I've put thousands of motorway (highway) miles on mine. Throttle to the stop, and she laps it up.

my thoughts would be maybe you probably think you can earn a lot more $$$ if you get the subs to donate via the thanks button. after-all fillingham did just that and took roughly $1700 from just one clip. if you were really for the fans -no ads is fine and no definately no request for money. do it on your own bat or dont do it at all. besides whats the big deal making a clip - ive done over 400 either you want too or you don't. my channel is down in excess of AUD100K in buying new bikes to review and i never ask the subs for support. no hidden costs and i never ever ask for money. no issues with you on the new classic 350 reborn. after-all i purchased and reviewed both of them. great bike and far superior to the old 500 which i actually had 15 of them new.

Sorry, but all of RE's line is pathetically under powered. A 650 making the hp of a 450 is an insult. The Himmes have some serious electrical problems that have been widely reported on forums. The RE line is cheap because they are not well built. Bret Tkacs went on a ride with 9 other Himmies (promo ride). Out of 10 bikes 8 had major problems including one that the triple tree brake off. I'll pass on on the RE line.
