personally, spoked wheels are my bread and butter on bikes. I can understand why some people would love alloys on other bikes, but I feel the spoked suit the classic 350 too well, and it seems you agree :) as you said in your video though, makes sense why you chose them despite you also liking the spoked wheels although I do love the new off roading tires, the tread on them looks fantastic! definitely can appreciate the look you're going for, even if its not what id do, I say it really gives your bike its own beautiful personality!

Hi Rhys, thanks for your feedback. I am quite happy with the look of the alloy wheels, but the look of the spoked wheels is of course more retro. Have a safe ride ✌️

My alloy wheels are not any easier to clean they have lots of angles that hold the dirt. A can of tire inflator will fix a flat tube puncture without gumming up the inside of the rim. I have alloys on both bikes. Your choice of rims looks good for that bike. They look quite good actually! Thanks for the show. -10C here in London On. I am heading out ride my snow shovel.

I think your modifications are gradually starting to make the bike look nicer in one way and bit different but clearly more fucntional. I kept an eye on your mods. Just bought a ' 23 Halcyon Green Classic and a leftover ' 22 Rocker Red GT 650. Both stabled at my dealer until spring-( post salt). Both with spokes. Will ride for a year and probably go for cast wheels then. I just subscribed and enjoy your channel. 👍👍5🏍🙋‍♂️

First of all, no matter if the video is nice or not, like it or not, my thumb is always up! 1) The specific tyre setting is perfect for gravel and bad weather conditions riding. Among with the new rims, makes it perfect, like a scrambler!👍 2) I agree with the black handlebars. Chrome is like a beautiful lady / girlfriend who always needs attention and polishing....so, yes, stay with the black ones! 3) Now the bike has a scrambler-overall look which is fantastic! ....Ah, hello Marc, how are you doing?...😅

Hi Dimitris, I agree, the new wheels give the bike a complete new look and are very practical in case you ride on gravel roads. I am fine, not riding at the moment, we have -3° snow and ice ✌️ Hope you are fine and it's not as cold in Greece as in Berlin ;-)

Those tiers you’ve put on are good for off road but not a good choice for on road as block treads do not grip or allow you too break effectively. You said there good in rain no no no they are good off road in the rain but on road they are darn right dangerous and I know I used to work for Goodyear tire company.

Hi Marc. The bike looks good with those wheels and tyres. I am curious to know why so many people prefer a tubless tyre set up. If you get a normal puncture ok, but if the tyre comes of the bead (rim) it will not be an easy job to repair at the roadside. Plus alloy rims are more prone to cracking if you drive into a pothole. ,and as someone else mentioned you can repair a tube with a can of spray repair. Its a tough decision 🧐 Be interested to get your and your subscribers opinions.😊

Hi David, there are pros and cons for both solutions. The best is to get no puncture or rim cracking, who likes to repair the bike on a road trip 😁 I have both now and will give the Heidenau tires a try now. Cheers Marc

A can of spray or "slime" in the tube cannot repair a puncture. They only work with a tyre as it can "grip" the thick wall but tubes are thin and flimsy. Secondly when a tube is punctured it lets go of all the air suddenly. If its a front tyre you are struggling with a high speed wobble and lucky not to go down and be run over by the car behind

Yeah, tubeless is better: air leaks slower & no need to dismount to repair.

I think you have made the right modifications for turning the classic into a wonderful little touring bike, I’m sure you will enjoy it, comfort and practicality are the most important things on a long journey and it still looks great 👍

Can understand why you fitted tubeless. And for alloys theselook really good. Did you have to change the cables on the higher bars? Personally for me spoked are true for the retro look I love. Most of my bikes have been tubed and only ever had 2 punctures which yes take longer to road side repair but with the center stand not that hard. Plus I like spocked wheels superior strength for rough ground .

Hallo Erwin, die Bestellung ist problemlos aber du musst zusätzlich Zollgebühren zahlen, da UK nicht in der EU ist. Das kann man aber einfach online über DHL machen. Vg Marc

I will start with shorter road trips between 600-1000 km and if the RE handles well I will do a longer one. Not sure about the destination yet 😀

HI Marc, how do you find the touring handlebars with the low seat? Thanks for adding the info that they're 3.5cm higher, my chrome ones are bent and the replacement cost is very similar whether they're high or standard 👍

Ive just ordered a set that has finally arrived from India. Came with longer throttle and clutch cable... did you find the brake line was ok or did it need relocating at all??@Marc.Stones
