The drive through the meandering countryside roads on a sunny day to the accompaniment of the mules thump is very therapeutic relaxation sound for the mind and soul !
There is something quite soothing about the 'thud, thud, thud of the Enfield's engine, could we say therapeutic!...I've thought for many years, those who dismiss motorcycles as 'dangerous bloody things' have missed out on a far more leisurely mode of transport. If one just 'potters' along its possible to see, be far more aware of the environment you are travelling in, an experience one never has locked up in a car. Years ago I 'pottered' about Kents Orchard and Hop Garden areas on a BMW R80, another bike that has a slow soothing exhaust beat.. love your leisurely rides in the Yorkshire countryside...
Beautiful beautiful scenery so wish I had long and winding scenic roads here like these always wanted a RE since the RE 350 cafe prototype came out.... Really wish they'd produce that model but I will one day own a RE... Be safe
Watching your virtual ride this morning has been the perfect start to the day. I'm reminded of the need to spend much more time in the Dales. Thank you so much Stu, stay safe.
Lovely ride, beautiful scenery and extremely well filmed in my opinion mate. These roads are precisely what the Enfield was made for 😀 Thud thud thud! Excellent!
It's Sunday morning and I'm catching up on videos. I love the gentle thump of a big single and quiet A & B roads. Like you, Stu, I am blessed with some glorious countryside on my doorstep (literally, as I live in a small village on the South Staffordshire/Shropshire border). During lockdown YesDear and I resorted to cycling this area for our Boris-hour exercise and generally ended up being out in the lanes for at least two hours...) and now I'm back on my BSA B50SS thumping around the countryside and villages with the engine firing at every other lamppost! I've held a motorcycle licence for over 50 years now and owned British and Japanese iron over the years. Like many of us established riders (as opposed to the middle aged, born again bikers), I've been through the growing stages; small capacity, single cylinders, through to balls-out fast, multicylinder UJMs and now, in my autumn years, back to a lazy thumper. My knees and other joints are rebelling and kicking over the high compression single is getting painful - the BSA has a reputation of being a pig to start when hot - so my options are limited; give up motorcycles 🤭 or find a thumper with a thumber (do you like what I did there?). Your videos of the Classic 500 swung it for me and your recommendation recently have convinced me enough to pop down a deposit on a Classic Trials that should be parked in my garage next month, just in time for some glorious summer rides. I'd like to thank you, Stu, for your videos and your presentation; I'm looking forward to getting the grin factor rather than the wince factor back in my life. I'll miss the Beezer but, as my dad was a friend of Johhny Brittain many years ago (his shop, in Bloxwich, was on my dad's beat as a young PC), I feel the affinity to Royal Enfield is well justified. Stay safe.
Thanks for the ride through beautiful Yorkshire countryside, it was fun to tag along. The Mule was popping along so effortlessly, sounded happy to pull just a bit above idle.
Great vid Stuart and love the Bridge Garage @9:35 which is certainly a throwback to gentler days. There used to be a little garage like, with maybe one petrol pump, in a lot of villages when I were a lad!
Ah Stu... The single cylinder symphony!! So reminded me of my early teenage years riding on the old 250 BSA C11G, C12, and C15.... Then come the 66 Bonnie... A love affair!!
Dear Stew, through your subscription I happily own a 2022 T120black. After pondering for quite some time, and finally making the leap across the pond so to speak. 600mile first service performed yesterday. The bike is an absolute dream. Thanks for your insightful knowledge sir.
Thank you for going to the trouble to film, edit, and upload this. I live in New Zealand and as you correctly pointed out we are in lockdown ATM and this is the closest I can get to going for a ride. Also cheers for putting me on to Motone Customs. I have fitted several of their bits and pieces and am very happy with the quality and look. Please continue with the good work as it is greatly appreciated. Cheers, John
It's always interesting to see how quiet and negotiable the roads can be. It's not always the perspective we have of UK from abroad. The motorways have left some lovely touring on green ways.
I can’t believe there are numpties who moan it’s bright when it’s bright and dark when you’re in the shade & shadows. Next it will be you’re only riding the Bullet now, that isn’t a bullet 😳😜😳 Loved the virtual ride 🙏🏻 Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I normally dislike chest mounted cameras. Seen too many pointless videos showing only the front of the bike. You seem to have got it spot on. 60% Road and 40% bike seems perfect. A pleasure to watch, thank you.
Excellent video which takes me back to my '93 Bullet 500 trundling about rural central Scotland. Nowadays all I hear when on my NC750X is the wind noise from my HJC helmet in harmony with my tinnitus...
Great videos as always, Stuart. I love the way you introduce common sense into motorcycling and maintenance. Quite a few channels about that I don't always agree with but I always agree with what you say and do no worries. I have been riding for over 60 years and mainly old British Iron but due to your videos I'm thinking of a new Royal enfield (Bullet?)
I have had several modern japanese bikes but nothing beats my royal enfield classic 500 the only problem is that I don't ride my vintage bikes anymore and going home after a ride I try to find 0the longest way every time by the way the 19t sprocket is fantastic keep on cruising and making video's
Stuart, very nice video !! Wish we had more roads like that over here. Have you ever ventured to South Yorkshire ? There is a small village down there called Wentworth village. About 3 miles from Elsecar. There is a large Estate in the town that is used for movie locations these days, might be a fun ride too ?
Hawes used to be a lovely biking stop unfortunately it now seems to be packed with cars, can be hard to find a place to park ,even for bikes,ah well, nice video ,thanks
Your viewers may not be aware of this but they can watch this video and other RU-vid videos in virtual reality on Oculus Quest and other headsets. If you are locked down you might really enjoy riding along with Stewart in VR.
I will greatly appreciate these videos when the winter sets in and my Triumph goes up on the center stand in hibernation. Do you ever ride through the surrounding areas of Bungay? My Mom was from there and I hope to go back one day. Thanks
What drives me nuts is i am trying to imagine myself riding instead of you , but darn it my reflects want me to ride on the other side of the roads . My oh my Stuart you are going to get us killed driving on the wrong side of the road hahahaha
Hello Stuart, beautiful video you showed to us, i love so much that RE classic, I would like to own one and enjoy the ride on that classic. I would like to know what do you think about the new RE Classic 350. Thank you!
Question: How do you avoid excessive wind noise whilst riding and filming? Many thanks for sharing your travels in my old "playground". From a cold, wet and soggy N.W. British Columbia.
Great scenery Uncle Stu, how are those rear Hargon shocks going, happy with the longer distance, over the factory shocks? Cheers from semi lockdown NewZealand.
Stuart! Can you please tell me main differences between of classic 500 and bullet 500. I think one of them has two sparks but which one? There is one classic 500 2015 model and one 2016 bullet 500. Which one do i have to choose? Help please
Almost forgot...I am waiting for a meteor paired with an interceptor 650cc engine and twin exhaust. Since the 500cc isn't available , please kindly elaborate.
hello sir I'm from India im practically begging you I've messed up my interceptor 650 in terms of scratches and it would help me a lot if you could help me clear up some doubts
great quality video, but, although its not always possible, why not pull over occasionally to find a break in the traffic, i hate following the same car for miles.
Beautiful ! ! ! But don't mention that word Lockdown, ever again to an Aussie living in Melbourne, we are going barmy while the politicians display chronic psychotic insanity .... I actually work with a guy from this area you're in and he would ride all over the place with his wife. He loves to talk about it, I can see why.
