Thomas Humber (1841-1910) was born in Sheffield and moved to Nottingham in 1854; he built his first velocipede there in 1868. In 1874 he formed a partnership (Humber, Marriot & Cooper) as cycle manufacturers. They moved to Beeston, Notts in 1878 then to Whitefriars Lane, Coventry in 1895 as Humber & Co., then to Lower Ford Street, Coventry in 1885, where they made their first motorcycle in 1896. In 1896 they made a prototype and nine production cars. In 1898 they produced the "Olympia,' an electric tandem; they also made a motorised tricycle in 1899. Their first 4-wheel car was built in 1901 and in 1908 the company built the huge Humber Road factory in Stoke, Coventry. Car and motorcycle production were parallel, before the company, in the light of falling motorcycle sales, decided to concentrate on cars in 1933, that being the final year of Humber's motorcycle production.

Another interesting video taym hope your all well there was some lovely old bikes at that rally with them gurder bikes I thought they were meaning the forks but some didn’t look like gurder forks though but beautiful bikes if you have the knowledge of keeping them running which I certainly haven’t and the weather well what can I say still a bldy nuisance anyway take care

Well, I'm disappointed. There was a definite TAYM shaped gap in the SB73 lineup, but it was never filled... 😆 Hey ho, and as for BSA Woes, it's all happening, (sigh). More on that in vids to come. But the ride WAS great. Dartmoor is so beautiful and it was great to meet in person people I now consider firm friends, like Exeter Rider, Saddlebags, Noobiker and now also a whole lot more!
