A fuel gauge! But lacking a gear indicator? I guess it's a while since I've ridden a modern bike, as I've never had a fuel gauge or a gear indicator. The first bike I owned was a Yamaha RD350, with dropped clipons - very café racer style. I spent many hours in that position, several 600 mile round trips, and if you're going fast enough the wind resistance takes the weight off your wrists, so it works. A 650 parallel twin is just the right size for an everyday bike. Enough power to make two-up long distance doable, light enough to handle intra-city commutes.
