If you have a Himalayan with a cold start problem try bumping your TPS voltage up to .690 to .710 and see if it helps. My TPS on my 2022 was set to .620 from the dealer and it stalled no less than three times in the morning at the start of my commute to work. I want to give credit to Dylan Paul from the Facebook group Royal Enfield Himalayan owners USA for sharing this information. Dylan works at a Royal Enfield dealer and he sets up problematic bikes using a method similar. He uses the actual Royal Enfield diagnostic tool though which if you have that options it’s the way to go. If not the old needle in the connector trick will do. Just an update, RE has produced a ECU update for bikes with stalling problems and its a solid fix. Check with your dealer and ask if they will reflash your ECU with the update to fix stalling.

Had mine at .71 and thought I had everything sorted out. I did 200 mile trip a week ago and had no issues. I go to start it yesterday morning and I'm back to the cold start issue again and that's with it at .71 and idle adjustments. This is such a pain.....

Well I hope you get it figured out. I’ve wondered if the ECU has the ability to adapt and can counter any adjustment. So for mine is holding.

I have 2022 Himalayan following the instructions I was getting a volt reading of 0.64 with key on before even messing with the adjustment screw. I just stopped and decided to ask you for your comment. hope to hear from you soon.

If you having a cold start issue I’d try .70. Ride it and get it completely warmed up the set the idle at 1250 to 1300. Always set the idle speed with the engine hot. You have to take the two bolts off at the rear of the tank and find the idle speed screw.

The FI on US based models run best at .70ish. At least the 2022s, my bike wouldn't even idle at .56. Thats all bridge under the water though, I installed a carb and the bike is flawless now. :-)

Smoakes video is 5.6 to 5.7 says its what it should be ?

Many people have had to set the US models to .69 -.71 to get them to keep running at idle. Not sure who Smoakes is but I’m sure he meant .56-.57. I ended up removing the fuel injection altogether since In my opinion it was way to lean.

@@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC thank you, I have a 2021 us model. Set mine to .57 and still having stalling issues even after adjusting the idle. Will try .70. Notices a lot of the videos are for Indian bikes.

@@JamesJohnson-ov5ct To get mine perfect or as perfect as it could be I made sure it was fully warmed up, adjusted to .70-.71 and set the idle at 1250RPM. Just make sure its fully warned up when you set the idle speed which is done with the giant screw on top of the throttle body.
