In India it's called the Hunter 350. Comes in 2 variant, Retro and Metro. The Retro appealed to me, all black, spoke wheels and ₹20, 000/- less than the Metro. I had to wait 40 days for delivery. That waiting period is now 90 days. I ride a lot on winding mountain roads and the bike has enough power and great handling to make the rides on the ghats a pleasure. Big difference from the 100cc commuters I've been riding these past 20 years. Takes me back to the days of my youth and the old Bullet I had then.
I hope the Retro will come also to Europe. I like the 350 Hunter very much. In Nepal I drove a Royal Enfield Himalayen and it was an very nice adveture. Greetings from Sweden
@@svenbeowulfsson641 no Sir, retro is not for eu market, it's just for India and some other third World markets to offer an affordable price tag. They informed it when it was released in Thailand
I'm 6.1ft and 80kgs, i find hunter very comfortable mainly because of the riding ergonomics. I was previously riding a taller motorcycle and felt little hesitant about this bike but it seriously surprised me. The rider triangle is so good. It'll suit all type of riders.
At 5'8" I'm much shorter (than you) so if you're comfortable then I'm going to be OK. Haven't done test run yet as changing jobs and waiting to see how things pan out
@@littlefishy6316 I've just done day hires on Classic, Meteor & Hunter here in Thailand over last couple weeks... Loved em all... If only I could have one of each... Alas can barely afford one... The Hunter be my pick... It's a fantastic machine... They all are truth be told but given 95% + my driving be around town Hunter makes the most sense.. It's a tad more perky and more suited to flicking around amongst traffic.. Also very comfy over longer trips.. Had a marvelous 350km tour on it.. Don't think I've ever enjoyed a day trip more. *Crap Game*
Just a small update , the bike is actually been named Hunter in India. For some reason it seems like they didn’t get permission to use the name in the UK.
Now if RE could put those wheels on the Classic 350 for those of us who don't want spokes wheels and tubed tyres. Good to see another good bike from RE.
two variants of the classic 350 have mag wheels: dark gunmetal grey and dark stealth black. So you can either buy one of those with the mags or if you don't like those at the very least you can can order the mag wheels and switch out the spoke wheels for the classic 350 you want or already have.
First time I had a proper look at the RE. In my young days we had the three major Japanese bike's....also in 50cc so that over 16's could get wheels. BMW and Triumph which we promised ourselves will be bought as soon as we were finished with the Army. The Germans had two makes in 50cc, quite fast compared to the Japanese bikes but they did not last long. Through the years I heard the name RE but actually forgot about it. I agree with you it's a very neat good looking bike, 👌bit of retro in there which is cool. Thanks. 🙃 (and also a 🦴 from my 50kg Boerboel puppy)
Glad you survived the route threw London. The English and most European road markings, squiggly lines ect are a little confusing. Nicely done review and seems like a lot of fun to be had with a 102 miles per gallon. Hope you had a sunny weekend too.
I downsized to a Scram 411 this year after riding cruisers for about 20 years. If the Hunter had been available I would definitely have considered it as I think it has a great look and would have suited my commuter needs perfectly.

Good moto bike , i have seen it 2 months ago.. the difference this moto bike has is , it mostly stands differently from the conventional royal Enfield family members. Lets consider it as an evolution. Btw your explanation is wonderful.. one thing you need to add is the detailing about the technical aspects.. ❤️
I though so too. Fits the gap in the niche. I deliberately don’t add much of technical aspects as that can be found on the website and in the vlogs where people specialising in that sort of reviews. I try to give what you can’t get elsewhere. The feeling of it. How is it to ride. But if technical information is important to add, that’s easy to do. I research it before any bike review ride, to know what to expect from it.
Love the video! I’m planning a trip to England for next year with a friend. We’re most definitely going to rent some Royal Enfields and ride around that beautiful country!
Great video and it’s really good to see a motorcycle in what seems to be its perfect environment. As always the review does influence by its honest and focused intentions. Great bike for urban travel with a bit of style and lots of appeal. Great ….
It looks a good Commuter bike although I also cringe as you ride through London Traffic. I have the Original Royal Enfields myself and it's good to see they are back in modern form.👍
After royal Enfield classic 350 which sells around 19k/month, hunter 350 has become second best seller with 17k-18k sales per month in india alone... That's huge for RE.... Triumph is doing joint ventures with bajaj india to compete with RE...
Another great review Deimante I think you picked the only dry day in the past few weeks ,,lovely bike ,,love the look of that single cylinder engine ........Riders or not
In India, it's called the RE Hunter 350. "HNTR 350" seems like an acronym to suit western consumer. Nonetheless, one awesome bike this is. M getting mine next month.
@@tomboyabit I guess it not the name but the machine that matters. Thanks. Will try to upload some moto logs after I get all the riding gears. U got an awesome channel. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
@@sohelshaikh6165 Think you are right. There seems no other reason. Ariel produced a 350 and 500 cc single called a Red Hunter for years. While Ariel went long ago I know someone has the rights as cars and concept bikes have been produced.
HNTR? In India it's launched under the name of Hunter 350. I wonder why they did that. I'm owning the same bike you're riding. Very happy with it, perfect city bike IMO.
The dash is in this place because on the right side is space for the navigation device. On the industrial fair intermot in Cologne it was named hunter.
I hope you can get a shot at riding outside of the city but this was the review I wanted to see. You touched on all the things that make sense to consider for city riding. I would be curious about your thoughts on the Classic 350 in comparison. I hope you can snag one to test soon. Good review. Thank you.
I've RE Classic 350 and recently bought TVS Ronin 225 but I really like how RE designed this perfect street bike for price less than Meteor and Classic. Is there any other bike available in your country by Bajaj and TVS?
hey, again a nice video of you. From Royal Enfield there was the 838cc concept bike, will that come on the market at some point? I would be a potential buyer ;-)
I have few hundred miles on my Hunter here in sunny Indonesia. Few observations from an older rider. Rear shock springs are too stiff, there is almost no static sag and very little rider sag at my 175 lbs. The front is sprung much better (softer) which makes for an un balanced suspension. The rear end is simply not compliant, this is the biggest issue with the bike. Take a look at the 7:00 min mark, when you sit on the bike the front sags, the rear does not, this proves my point. I have big hands and find the leavers at the far end of comfortable reach, with the clutch lever adjusted with some extra free play, the clutch is spot on. I wonder how you find the levers in terms of distance from the bars? I would assume, riders with smaller hands would start feeling that the levers are too far. Clutch is nice and smooth with good feeling pull. The engagement point is however on a short/little clutch lever movement side. I wish that the the cam on the clutch was not as aggressive. If I just ride without looking at the speedo, it seems I always end up around 50 mph, the bike is super happy and relaxed. The shock will have to be upgraded, the rest are just few personal observation. It is a great "big" bike, here in Indonesia we ride 150cc mostly.
Its a great looking bike , just what we need , basic biking once again and good fun. I think its odd that we dont get the signals military style model though .....considering its based on a British army bike🤔 ...it would sell well.
@@tomboyabit I'm in the UK, and your review is the first time I've heard it called anything other than 'Hunter'… I just assumed 'HNTR' was some kind of 'cool' abbreviation for the txt generation.
@@tomboyabit I guess it's like how the Interceptor is called (officially) the 'INT' in the USA… but everyone still calls it the Interceptor anyway - Honda have 'stolen' and registered the name in the US… RE were using it in the sixties. Honda have form for using older manufacturers' model names, like Norton's 'Dominator' and Triumph's 'Hurricane' (The old Triumph company came to an agreement with Ford in the fifties over both using 'Thunderbird'… 'Bonneville' could be used by both Triumph and Pontiac cars because it was a place name originally, like 'Capri', which was used by Italian scooter manufacturer Agrati before Ford used it on a car). I wonder who 'owns' Hunter in the UK?… There was a car called the Hillman Hunter, but Hillman are long gone. Perhaps Ariel (sports cars and bespoke bikes) own the rights to the name along with the 'Ariel' brand (the original Ariel motorcycles used to have a 'Hunter' model back in the fifties and earlier). I can't realistically imagine anyone calling the bike the 'HNTR' in the real world… It'll be known as the Hunter, whether they like it or not.
I bought the red color few days ago and I'm loving it 🙂 i don't know if i made the right choice with the color but it's the only color that's available when i went for buying
mmm coffee, overall it's a nice looking bike particularly the tank, not so much the side panels. Ticks over nicely, when you blipped it the revs died so fast i thought it was cutting out but didn't. I wonder if you have ever checked out doghouse customs, built quite a few cool RE 350 bobbers based on the older models ( nothing to do with me, just curious)
What's up with designers? - put the key and the dial in the middle, simple. I like the look of the engine; with a bit of a cosmetic tweeking , tank, pegs, exhaust, bars, etc. and wire wheels, it could look like a very passable retro Gold Star type bike (now that they're coming back). Worth a go by someone.
@@tomboyabit yeah , its a kinda crossover type moto bike. Its a cruiser bike , its a naked street bike and it can also be used as a light adventure bike ..
Triumph once had a 300 or 350cc. Had the chance to buy one once but past on it like the fool I was. Probably impossible to find one now. I love old bikes... and I'm talking about motorcycles of course 😂
The Key is deliberately in tad off position. Placing it in the center would have impacted its aesthetic with the main dash. Yes, visually you want that to be horizontally distributed with the left and right end. But breaking that norm makes the design interesting and shifts it away from the Normal.
I owned rebel red metro version...superb ride, smooth, torquey, style, attention grabber.....they have cut down tripper navigation that's why it looks empty on console bcz of globel shortage availability of chip
I rode it last month before your review I have to say I love RF but this one I didn't really like the riding position with the lower front feel and the in regards to the sound I prefer the meteor
The Hunter 350 has 20PS power and 27Nm of Torque. I am not sure if thats gonna change wrt countries but may be you wanna correct what you said 19.9 Nm torque at 4000 rpm
Okay so.... Is it not hntr is Hunter... Is it just an abbreviation they used, for ex I'm working on a ship I used to fill in my logbook: ops for operations, wtr for water, o/b for on board and so on
I am from India.i bought hunter 350 metro rebel version at 1,890 British pounds as on road price two months ago.metro rebel is the top model.my colour is white and blue dual tone.i fixed led turn lights as extra modification.there are three versions of hunter 350 in india .retro factory, metro dapper, metro rebel.retro factory version comes with spoke wheels and rest of them come with alloy wheels.in india on road price of retro factory is 1,600 British pounds, metro dapper is 1,830 British pounds and metro rebel is 1,890 British pounds.i have also attached a turn navigator with my bike as extra cause 4g data is very cheap in india.i have achieved top speed of 136 km per hour at highway.i am a light weight guy.milege is 36 km.but i am getting 28 km milege at highway it will probably increase after first servicing.
I did ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gsu6ljAHnvE.html I personally prefer Scram. Because I took it to the twisties and of a tarmac as well as the City. Seams more versatile to me. If I’d ride the city mainly I’d choose a Hunter, but I prefer to avoid the traffic so Scram I personally liked more.
Royal Enfield is saving the motorcycle industry from the 90 - 00 styling that is stuck in other brand. Most other brands look like water scooters from the 90s.
