In a world which seems to be getting crazier by the day, it’s good to know that Geoffrey and Mr Cone are always there to have a sensible conversation !! Nice work Mr & Mrs TAYM.
Great video. Im in south coast NSW Australia with great scenic riding roads all round.. Have put loud after market pipes and a softer seat on the interceptor. It's 2 up riding with the missus every weekend. She's about 65kg and the interceptor purrs along beautifully. .The new pipes gives it a nice loud rumble to let the neighbours know when we are off for our ride. It's Friday today so tomorrow we ride. You beauty!!
Thank you kindly for the mention! I am addicted to the sound of the R.E. 650 twins. They are such great budget bikes and can be turned into something quite special with aftermarket parts, including shocks and pipes of course. I don't notice the difference when my (49kg) wife is on the back, other than some slight grumbling from the rear occasionally. Those cones at the roundabout were shining with admiration when you went past. I think that Mrs All Year Round would be impressed if the sound was turned up a notch. The 650s are half the price of a Triumph 900, so you could buy two and I did.
Might look into getting an Interceptor for my golden years. When I get too old to ride it, I'll convert it into a wheelchair and put aftermarket pipes on it. I'd have the best sounding (and fastest) Olde Farte mobility scooter in the retirement village! Also need to get my own cone to run these great ideas past, I think I may be getting a little out of hand... Great stuff again. Mr and Mrs TAYM!
Good morning to you both. Great video. We're on holiday near Colchester, visited the Kawasaki branch to look at the splendiferous Enfields yesterday. Had a coffee and a brilliant bacon bap! Word is, they are offering demo rides on their BSA Gold Star and the first delivery of bikes for early next year, unless someone knows different! Bought an engine guard for my new RE 350. Lovely people.👍
Merry Christmas Mr and Mrs TAYM . Thank you for your uplifting, always positive ( marvelous😅) videos. You are always a pleasure to enjoy with breakfast ( toast, marmalade AND cheddar cheese..yeah!) Marvelous indeed. I had to laugh at your comments re Freddie D 😂...yep you nailed it but how can you not love someone so self effacing and quick to admit his goofs 😂!!!
Ah you left me hanging there at the end. I thought you were gonna show the missus the other interceptor colours. So she could pick one out for you. Or maybe that's part 2. Cheers TAYM 👍
Great bikes I have the Continental and recently added the scram to my garage, Royal Enfield miles of smiles and bang for your buck every time best value for money imo (splendiferous you might say)🏍👍
Gotta say bringing Mrs Taym adds glamour to any motorcycle review,it gives Mr Taym more credibility when he uses her comments instead of the cone who I think is such a lonely guy he'll say anything to get you to call by again
Morning to you both. It would be an “Honour” to have my name used on an Interceptor, however, it may be a bit confusing to your viewers. Every time you mention “Ian”, they won’t know if you are referring to me, or a bike 😂 As for exhausts, I am obviously biased but it’s Scorpions for me, baffles in is just lovely, baffles out if you want to be a hooligan, but still sound lovely without being horrendously obnoxious (unlike that thing I was behind on my last vid). As I have mentioned many times, in today’s real world motorcycling, you don’t need any more than the Interceptor gives. Back to basics, and all the better for it. Thanks for the two up review, and mention 😊
Love your videos from here in Nevada USA. I have a Yamaha xt250, but I am keeping my eye on the RE selection. I am liking the Classic and Meteor 350's as well as the Scram and Himalayan. Leaning towards the 350's though. Roads here are 70 mph, but most drive 75. Thankfully traffic is sparse so I drive around 60 to 65 mph and just let them pass or pull off when the road doesn't allow it. Here a drive to Walmart is a 250 mile round trip.
Great review. We (I) found the same - I was less conscious of Mrs Davgb on the back than I was on Chester the Z900RS. Whilst Chester was indifferent to performance with so much on tap, I knew she was there, but with Ruby, the Canyon Red baby, I almost forget Mrs Davgb is present (I typed that just before you actually said it on the video!). Handling remains the same and to be honest performance isn't noticeably affected. She also finds it very comfortable - more so than the Z, and she says one of the best we've had for a while. She also concurs with Mrs TAYM about the suspension setup. Chester was a bone shaker. Love the Interceptor.
Mrs TAYM made me sell Kevin, my z900rs cafe. She said it made me a hooligan 😕 she nearly got catapulted off on one ride (I might have been going a tad quick down a bumpy road) 😊
Nice test ride, good 2 up weekend tripper and weekday commuter, didn`t rate the colour scheme though, I think the candy red or orange crush would be my choice, I think I would name the bike Indy. Pity they don`t do chrome wheels. By the way I like the sound, turbine-like.
Thank you, you should watch the second one ride video on the continental that I did. The sound is mesmerising 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGFv6UqLKBk.html
Splendid video mr & mrs TAYM Glad the cone approves aswell Great looking bike and yes once the exhausts are changed then it’s a different bike 😮 I quite like the colour myself Lovely This week from Shrewsbury In the Lion Hotel Excellent work 😊😊
Another great review Mr Taym. The bike looks splendiferous, apart from that awful turquoise colour on the tank. Much better looking in the metallic orange.
Never mind the Bullet, what about that cracking Deauville next to it (stop sniggering at the back please🤨) I had a Deauville and loved that bike and it a regret I sold it. It got it's faults for sure but mine was immaculate, so comfortable and done miles with ease. Hey ho. It amazing how the Royal Enfield brand sucks you in and makes you smile every time. Mrs TAYM almost looked interested but let it go at the end while sitting there while you wrapped up hehehe 😇 Another cracking vid 👍
Hahaha.....hefalump on the back? Really??.....and you're still alive??? Nice video, makes me wish I'd kept mine now! (had to go to make way for Blizzard, the Himalayan)
So as a Classic 350 owner have you asked Mrs TAYM her choose between the 2 bikes ? Not sure the cone would be able to offer a view on this question 😂😂😂
Ahh, glimpse of your future then at the beginning. You’ll be sat on Interceptors, Triumphs, MOTO Guzzi’s in your 90’s, when they are all banned 😢 making the Brum Brum noises! 😂😂
@@TAYM although you have bertie. But you could call interceptor Ernie as I.m sure you won't be getting int and conti. But you may get a copyright strike from saddlebags for ernie
I don't completely trust the cone. There's something about it that makes me think it's playing mind games. I could be wrong, I don't want to stand here in judgement.
Ivan's dead.I had a crash & banged myself up pretty good.Thought bike looked repairable but insurance company wrote it off.A bit disheartening after all the money I spent on it.Insurance company paid out 100% -$750 Access & still got riding gear to go as well. S&S race only sound good on Intercept,Gt.
Thanks.I'll concentrate on getting better then think about the next move.Lucky I was only going under 70-80kmh which was fast for for that country road. Also lucky I didn't owe any money on bike too.
