Could be a voltage drop due to film build up on battery terminals which is invisible to the eye. Clean Terminals with wire brush both ends , it may fix it.
Mine was the battery too, but that was only part of the problem. Battery terminals were damaged, they are cheap and can warp, so it wasn't getting a good connection. I replaced it with another brand, and had to replace the relays. It was good for a whole year! And now I have complete power failure... so a new issue
It sounds like a battery or starter issue cause bike not even turning over.If it relays it will turnover but not run.Check all the wires to starter, battery.Try & jump start it get it running turn off & then try. Also check the spark plugs sometimes R.E bikes spark plugs aren't seated properly at factory & are loose or only just sitting there or leads not on properly this could be it cause others have noticed loose leads & plugs at service.
@@Fergutron Yeah I thought it be starter, battery lead or battery 🔋 cause that's the sound they make. R.E occasionally has the odd shite battery apparently.
Not to revive a dead comment section yet again - Why did you have to replace the battery if it was full and showing strong voltage? Doesn't make sense to me.
I can't remember 100% but remember The battery charger was showing it was charging (then showed full) but it would not crank over. New battery solved the problem. I do know that the battery charger itself was faulty too though (which i discovered a few weeks later) so maybe something to do with that. Either way, on that occasion it was a new battery under warranty and a simple problem solved.
@@Fergutron Gotcha. Well after some more fiddling today, I think I've determined my relay was actually faulty. It only clicked once as opposed to yours which continuously clicked. Thanks for responding.
Hey there! This might or might not be the issue I am facing. Reason I think so because I did open the button unit on the throttle side for some cleaning and the bike just clicks since then when I press the self start. I have already checked the pump (which primes), relays, fuses and battery, all of which seem to be good. Can you please share more details about how you fixed your issue. Are you saying this could be caused by a loose connection at the self start button unit?
I'll Check it out. I'm thinking the same. Strange that it's ready full and healthy on the charger though. Recovery are on their way, so fingers crossed we will get it going soon
