The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is the newest RE on the block. Or is it? Based on the same platform as the Himalayan, this motorcycle features a bunch of changes targeted at making the city experience a whole lot better. A bike review is never complete without an exhaust note section and a mention of top speed and pickup and the reviewer's feedback while achieving those...... I am sure those will be around on further reviews. This was handled more like a car review talking about engine mapping and refinement (happy that info was shared) just missed the spot.

Unnecessary Launch, we are waiting for a newer 6 speed Engine with slightly more power n torque. And yet they launch a modified Himalayan. Anyday still the presebt Himalayan is a better buy than this half baked design.

Jawa brand have 3 motorcycles in it’s line up & Yezdi have 3 segments of motorcycles in it’s line all the 6 motorcycles are based on the Mahindra Mojo engine but god forbid RE for using 1 engine & platform for two different models the blasphemy right?

Powerdrift when Royal Enfield drops ground clearance " there is only a drop of 20 mm" Powerdrift if yezdi would have done that " The character of scrambler has gone for a toss because of the drastic reduction in the ground clearance"

Early positive review for the RE scram pointing out a few niggles for a bike which doesn’t even look a scrambler, while the Yezdi Scrambler gets trashed in it’s extremely delayed video. Hmmm.. welcome to Auto Journalism.

Liked the review.. but the headlights looks a bit odd and the overall design doesn't resemble to a scrambler. Yezdi has done a great job in terms of design.

I like air cooled engines! They're simpler, easier to work on, and there's less to go wrong; there's no radiator, hoses, water pump, etc. to worry about.

@@powerdriftofficial it's alright PD. You guys are doing your job. My idea is to give unbiased reviews. Sometime the way things are put makes a big difference. Nevertheless RE needs to stop fooling their customers by giving same products after doing cosmetic changes. They need to focus on performance enhancements in their products which people have been demanding since ages. They need to take care of their waiting period which is frustrating. And they need to keep a check on pricing cos if the price is increased then they need to offer something substantial to justify the price tag. Classic 350 reborn recent example....

I feel this Himalayan had a road crash and lost some of its weight... doesn't differentiate much feel it's not worthy its just like the previous classic 350 and 500 same same but different🤣🤣

I loved the concept. It is a different offering indeed as not everybody wants a full fledged adv.. this is something new and something fun. For instance, for some wanting to use the bike onl y for city commute, trail riding..this is more than sufficient. I love the idea of smaller tyre and intend to fit something like this on my BS4 Himalayan. I wish the maps were available for porting to BS4/ BS6 himalyans to make it street frinedly. Like you mentioned. 95% of the time, Himlayan is on the road..very very few people use it only for racing/ off roading.

Random power ~20bhp. Random similar torque. Come on. Honda is the leader but you must be naive not to see RE necessitating the cb350 there.

Looking at the changes made on these and the time taken to make it production-ready, I highly doubt the 450cc Himalayan will be available the next year itself. And still we can see panel gaps and all without it being an all-new motorcycle. I highly doubt 450cc Himalayan (if at all it exists in any form) is still out of the drawing board else we could have tons of images already.

I think it going to be the other way around. What stand out for Himalayan does not necessarily stands out for this revamped Himalayan. They robbed it away with the strength it has that was off road tractability. It's such a shame that re has to restort to such gimmicks under peer pressure

Imho 450 won't cut it. It's a definite rumour and line cannibalism unless they discontinue 400. A worthy upgrade is most awaited himmy 650 cc.

Halaki I am not totally against the idea but common RE I can wait for 4 years for the 650 twins and even a couple of years for the Meteor. But even three months for this is not my cup of tea.

@@saurabhdagr8 Not exactly is a cannibalism if the rumours are correct (I highly doubt though). It will be like what Classic 350 was to Bullet 350 before the new model. But yes the current Himalayan will either be neglected or in due time will be taken off though I still think there will be market for both.

To be very honest it's design language is really bad specially..the odd headlight ..and it's fuel tank part is worst..it feels like they have added.. forcefully..fit and finish doesn't sound good...

meh.... i was expecting a toned down new gen parallel twin 500cc engine..... expected it to have some high quality paint work, fit and finish, some stylish some good gears and lighting.... but not sure how it is going to be in the flesh.... i think its not quite there yet..... fingers crossed, hope RE doesn't disappoint, waiting to test drive these....

Not sure why companies keep doing this and spend long hours and testing mentioning that this is a new vehicle... But just making fool of everybody and re launching the same product with different colours and some new panels... Such motorcycles doesn't need a dedicated video... Where is 95% of the vehicle is the same and no thought was given to even at the design stage to make it different from the Himalayan 😀😀... This will soon meet the dust and Perish 😀

better to buy Yezdi scrambler , in this price point yezdi provides more value of money ..it gives you modes as well as mobile charging option ... and most important on road and smooth of road capability .

In classic series they RE was changeing the colors of the bikes and giving new names till 2019 Now they started in himalayan also 😂😂😂

Unlike people's power figure issues, himalayan was a no for me only because of its weight, height and my OCD , the headlight that doesn't move with the handlebar, which made Yezdi adv a better choice. Scram solves these problems perfectly but it's still not a convincing motorcycle to buy. Weird.

Indian makers like Bajaj, RE, Tvs major problem as per my opinion is motorcycle WEIGHT Honda, yamaha, ktm reduces weight as much as possible, they set benchmark. This disappoints a lot

thanks for the details, Varun. Its kerb weight is 185kgs. Did you feel still RE could have cut another 15kgs or so, which will make it more lighter and agile and also easily handle in normal traffic conditions? Also the power to weight ratio could have been improved by this? RE also missed an opportunity to test the machine alloys in the himalayan platform that could have got the advantage of tubeless tyres also.

I know it took inspiration from the concept bike which they showcase in EICMA this year but honestly this doesn't look that good. I hope RE will prove me wrong with other upcoming bikes.

I think they are gonna end the present linup of himalayan and slap the himalayan badge on a newer and powerful engine. For existing himalayan customers, this bike is gonna keep the engine and spare parts supply going so they don't have to kill the 411 engine.

It's clear as the day sky now that Powerdrift RE ki god mein baithe hue hain, come on guys at least make an attempt to sound neutral? Maana RE is a legendary brand but as reviewers your job is to give us viewers the correct picture. Yezdi is hands down the better bike, you can take any specifications and compare.

I wanted to buy this bike to replace my 200 Duke scrambler but the lack of switchable ABS is a deal breaker for me. This was a blunder. Otherwise, the bike looks good and has all the changes over the Himalayan that I would want. PS: Great review. You covered all the points I was interested in.

Well that was expected . Cosmetic changes to look like a scrambler which to be honest it doesnt. Engine is the same so will still feel underpowered if anybody likes to take on highways. How many will be scrambling? Very few....So basically a confused bike and bikers. I would still vouch for REH. To be honest looks like a third party modified bike. Enough of cosmetic stuff. Customer nowadays are well versed with what they want . And then the legendary RE waiting period....

He won't. Coz that would mean highlighting the fact that the shitty brakes from Himalayan are carried over to the scram 411. The scram 411 is nothing more than a blatant attempt at maximising utilisation of their Himalayan spare parts. And a scrambler with poor front brakes isn't really a scrambler, is it? You can't push it hard (the very purpose). So yeah.

Definitely If Yezdi had comeup with Similar product - Varun would be like - Yeh tho After Market accessory jaisa lag raha hain, No innovation made, copied from Himalayan and now, Himalayan copied itself and made even worse product. That's actually how the project started to be honest. People were already making their own versions of Scramblers keeping the Himalayan as a base. That's where RE decided to step in and create it from the factory.

Had they gone with Sagar's custom built Scrambler RE replica, it would have been a bomb in the Indian market. This design looks like RE wanted to sell old motorcycles with newer paint schemes. Nothing new nothing fancy and more weirder looking. RE is just so old school that newer generation thinks Thrice before buying one. Time to go back to the planning table soon.

Jahaan RE ke strengths hain wahaan it makes sense to praise them, but this bike is not even a scrambler, it's just a different version of Himalayan. It doesn't fit the definition. If reviewer was unbiased he would have said the same thing, alas its Powerdrift so what can we expect?

Optional alloy wheels would help them increase sales by a big margin. There is a strong demand for it. I would not get alloy wheels on a Himalayan but I would get them on the Scram. The aesthetic and character of the Scram will easily accommodate alloy wheels.

@@varunpainter6964 I don't know. That front tyre size is the same as on the 390/250 Adventure. I would say that even the KTM alloy wheel will work on this if the 20 kg extra weight is not an issue. And yes, tubeless wire wheels are too expensive.
