@@corychartier7961 why does it have to be Rs.60000 over and above the cost of the alloy wheels? Doesn't Royal Enfield make spoke wheels at cost? Just change that design to accommodate tubeless tyres. BTW, I heard they are doing that with the new 450 Himalayan.
@@henrynathan357 if they do that even with the 450 I will be surprised it requires purchasing new equipment and providing training and more time to make each wheel so they will cost more that is why you only find spoked tubeless tires on high-end bikes.
I test rode both and found the Scram to be more enjoyable. The small changes have indeed added up to a significant change in the riding experience. The front end felt more connected and the more basic instrument readout makes you focus more on riding and less on checking one's blood pressure! The missing items of utility on the Scram vs the Himalayan are not minor. The lack of switchable ABS is a huge miss and the rear ABS cuts in at the thought of touching the rear brake. I would much rather take out the fuse indefinitely. The reduced ground clearance may be an issue once in a while and the Scram misses out on the tank rails which are great for shifting some luggage weight forward and balancing out the bike. But then you buy a bike to have fun too. Also, you don't ride the brochure. You ride the motorcycle. So, how it feels to ride and how it makes you feel is important.
Everyone talks about the specs ,looks scram off roader, engine....Nobody talks about the quality of the Steel/iron that RE uses.. its way shitter call it the 'Fe' is not high the welds digs out the metel when it breaks ..
RE fan boys talking 🤣🤣🤣 According to them RE always great 🤣 400cc machine no liquid cool, no slipper clutch and off road bike you can't turn of abs lol, And according to them this bike are great👏🤣
@@UtkarshxKaushik I got the blazing black one ☺️and it’s gorgeous . Yes the white one is 3.5k expensive and has a huge waitlist . Infact all models will start to have waiting list from April , that’s why I picked up the launch model itself.
My list to "Santa" for a new RE Scram design: 1_ New tubeless 19 wheels 2_ Six speed gearbox 3_ KYB inverted forks. 4_ LED lights. 5_ Brembo disc brakes. 6_ 15 HP extras. 7_ Switchable ABS. 8_ Stainless steel exhaust system. 10_ Satin Green color scheme and brown leather comfy seat with diamond patterns. 11_ Same price as 411 Hahahahahaha😆 Come on Santa you can do it!
Himalayan has just more outright functionality. Yea small things will matter less in a day to day ride. But what you lose out on the Scram, its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
If the scram's gonna take himalayan's position in recent future....then i think RE should think about a 650 cc setup for their next himalayn line up....it will be interesting....i mean they have their 650 cc line up and those are very popular in India as well as internationally....
With Himalayan, what I always feel it lacks is a 6th gear. The engine feels like it can do much more but it's being tamed unnecessarily. What do you folks think?
@@AJ-oc1uj buddy it's not about speed but power delivery and performance smoothness. So the ideal combination for Himalayan would have been a 6 speed gearbox for distributing the performance band to it's best utilisation.
An ideal Scrambler from the RE stable, would have been to playaround with the Continental. Well that’s just a view, whilst am sure RE would have done their market research.
Ex Himalayan owner here, ridden for 21600 km before I moved to the Duke 390. Would pick the scram over the himmy eyes closed, if you aren’t a technically trained off-roader and a majorly road tourer. The 21 inch wheel is a dealbreaker for road touring. Just change the tyres to more grippy road based ones the CEAT is shit
But to be Honest I was 100% satisfied with the braking bcz in Indian Roads we mostly around 80-100kmph n at that speed it stopped nicely n i ride my Himalayan around 30k so braking not the issue here n still with that old engine it can do all that things it is made for.
Really. I test rode these two and came out shaken. The brakes are really bad. Like really baad. If an unexpected thing happens on the road, which is common in India. I don't think you can stop it in time.
@@sivajay968 I am not encouraging it i m just told that the way engine tuned for the purpose it can easily do that yes u can't cruise around 120-130kmph as it's a 400cc engine, so looking forward for a better engine .
Excellent comparison. I have just ordered a Scram, having considered the Himalayan previously. The Scram ticked all the boxes for me, as someone who is unlikely to be going off road. The option of alloys would definitely have appealed to me.
Can plz tell me about engine heating issue. Because I am going to buy this bike for my daily usage. Per day Avg 50km i have to drive. For my office I have to drive 22km to reach. Up and down 45km per day. So plz tel me bike heating and city milage..
This was a very anticipated video, Fully Enjoyed. Right now I’m riding my last Year Himalayan and my best friend may go with the Scram soon. Though as of now I’m keeping my patience and Money 💰 To Check Out the Upcoming Baby. ✌️
Why don't these bikes offer alloy wheels? I mean other than the cost saving. For off-road? I can understand for a dirt bike or a 300kg heavy adv bike. But here in India, Unless specifically needed by a specialist rider on a special bike, Alloy wheels will do the job 99% of the time and also keep the puncture repair problem so easy!
RE really needs to invent different design to meet different purpose. As Himalayan is focused to off-road they should made the new bike focused to on-road!
What a strange dilemma. The RE scram looks meh 👎🏼 but the Yezdi scram is a beaut.😍 Whereas the Yezdi adventure looks meh 👎🏼 but the Himalayan is a beaut. 😍. 😅😅😅😅😂 P.S. not a hate comment. Just a fun personal opinion based only on looks. All four bikes are great in their respective fields.
@@prajwoltiwari4464 that is an amazing video and covers the topic more or less in the same manner as simplified but with better presentation in terms of graphics.
Powerdrift team , u guys are champ in identifying each bikes details w.r.t it’s past , present and future aspects 👍. Great overall discussion for both of u.
How the mighty have fallen. As it goes, nothing lasts forever. It was fun being subscribed to PD since before it was called PowerDrift. Sadly, this video proved to be the last straw . Instead of being sassy (the way you guys ended your video with), I'll keep it civil and bid Adieu.
I would want to see if those pods on the side of the scram’s tank could be replaced with some sport bike style sliders. Then lace up a 17 inch front wheel and presto-chango you have a supermoto.
I would pick the new Himalayan. This Scram is good but its just a response to Yezdi and will delay the new Himalayan launch. That's why it's frustrating
@J GURURAJ it's a good bike. Just delaying the new Himalayan, that's all I am saying. The new Himalayan is supposed to be way better but they are giving a good bike now instead of focusing on a great bike first.
I think Himalayan should get the 650 twin cylinder engine to become a serious option in its segment…there is no issue with the styling as such for me…it just lacks the power!!
Why dont they give liquid cooling? I am so confused bw Yezdi and RE. Some say YEZDI can trouble and be expensive in maintenance and part availability. But Engine and Power of Yezdi is a bit more efficient it seems?
RE is the most stupid company in the world .They are creating a youth bike without alloy wheels and tube less tiers at the cost of Rs.2.15 laks. They make all the important accessories like center stand and trip meter as extra attachments. The pricing is very poor ,who wants to select Meteor instead of Scram11 for Rs.2.15 laks?
Hey PD, great video! When you say, the scram's engine has a new "map" and that the new Himalayans will have that too, could you explain what is this "map" which makes the riding more smoother? I rode both of them back to back and there was a considerable difference between scram and Himalayan 2021.
I rode both. Scram feels small compared to Himalayan. Handlebars felt too close and proportions didn't feel right for me. I'm 6 feet tall. I think Scram is for people who find Himalayan too much.
remove Varun from this analysis videos He really cant take a stand!! no hatred brother, but there are far better analysts than Varun He is not a match for Shumi, seems like a teacher is taking class of a student!!
Honestly i don't get the point of the scram, it's just a fancy Himalayan that doesn't really want to go off-road. Hima have everything that you need for a daily use, off-road use, or trip use. Scram just loose everything to gain some colors and aesthetic. An 18 inch wheel doesn't make it a street bike, but neither an off-road one. I personally don't like things that stand in the middle of nowhere.
For the new Himalayan they can use scram411 engine (with slight tunning), better suspension, in terms of looks TFT display, led headlight (like the one in new Harley Davidson's), little trim on wind screen.
Need a recommendation for a bike that covers city well, that zooms past faster, good city menover , that includes the bad traffic, pot holes and dug up roads . Also occasional touring, and bad road sections. I use a Yamaha commuter that does well in city , but would like to move ahead with more powerful bikes . I travel 60km min a day in city and weekend travel when I get time. Ktm 390 duke / adv x Vstrom 250 RE / Triumph For now Im looking at 3.5 as budget but want a machine for next 3 years
If the new one is a scram 450, Himalayan should culminate into the 650 family, it would also look cool, with the meteor there, and classic also in the works.
My opinion about the engine is I feel keep the air cooled and just up the bhp and torque . I’m getting the scram as a garage mate to my Ducati scrambler 1100
You both have discussed, as you think so. If alloy wheel of Classic350's available for same size then why not this option is given in MIY program for Scram 411.l
