I've got PTSD for fear a guard will scream bloody murder at any second. England needs the tourists money, apparently, to keep the economy going. Treat them with respect.
@@mariecarton8611 Oh no? 😂 England's tourism sector contributes over 200 billion to the British economy (GDP) when its direct and indirect impacts are taken into account - and it supports more than 4.3 million jobs. UPDATE According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the UK's travel and tourism sector is expected to contribute £252.4 billion to the UK economy in 2023, which is more than the pre-pandemic high of £248.5 billion in 2019. This is a 40% increase from 2020 to 2023.
@@Jester343 The service sector is the dominant sector of the UK economy, accounting for 82% of GDP in 2023. In 2022, the service sector accounted for 81% of the UK's gross value added (GVA), which is a measure of economic output similar to GDP. GVA measures the value of products and services produced minus production costs, but not labor costs.
People are so rude. These royal guards are not there to entertain you. They are elite soldiers who have sacrificed a lot to become royal guards. Please respect the guards, the horses and the rules.
@@JohnPotts-kq7kk it is not « expensive » to have discipline in a country and to have militaries. It is necesary and it shows good exemple to the youth. May be are you a wokist?
They need to paint an area on the ground where you can’t stand to keep the tourists back, especially where the poor horses are. I don’t blame them for biting people, must be boring as hell for them just standing there. At least the men chose to do it.
Pawns?? No dear boy, they are elite trained soldiers, not just 'mere pawns'. We serve six months on the horses as ceremonial guards and the other six months on war vehicles working as front line soldiers. Those who show disrespect, should be banned from royal areas, permanently!!
They mesmerize me, I admire their discipline and honor. From watching the videos I'm seeing that people seem to think they are just a tourist attraction, a photo op, they don't even stop to respect the fact that these men and women are working, they are real soldiers and they do go to war just like any soldier that isn't a grenadere. People don't respect, not at all.
Good for the guard, they need to be respected. People are so RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. These guard have to put up with it day in and day out. 😒 I feel for them. Also the horses. 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Royal guards make me tingle, i have nothing but respect for them and them being able to show a little bit of emotion makes me happy regardless of the emotion
Why has the British Army and the M.O.D. Police repeatedly FAILED to control those areas??? They cannot even control a bunch of children, women, etc. how can they call themselves an Army???
@@HOLY_SPIRIT_GOD? it’s called being considerate. Happy feelings, the gym, steaks vitamins and confidence are not a match for quickly evolving and spreading viruses we absolutely do need to be considerate of people in this regard
@@planetX15 it could also be taken as comment upon the reward they deserve for their behaviour, particularly as the first part of the sentence heaped praise upon the guard. But have you noticed how the latest iteration of the keypad software is continually replacing words, as it sees fit, even after pressing send - even words that have been correctly spelt 🤦 so frustrating.
@user-yn9dk8cf4e The real question is how they could charge someone with a non-existant crime. Just because you post a sign, doesn't mean it becomes law or is even enforceable.
@@RayDoucette Like a car ticket warden does & have a deadline until prior checking in at the airport itself. Laws are changed & new ones are also put in place all the time. These are on duty soldiers, so yes I’ll be all for it. People whom know how to behave won’t have a problem either.
Rispetto!!!!
they're literally there so tourism can increase, if the government didn't want people staring at them they'd not exist, simple. I don't feel sorry for them because that's there job, it doesn't matter if they're real soldiers, no modern day soldier needs those weapons or silly outfits, so they're purely there for tourists to oogle at, and they know it, and they get paid for it.
This guard is normally so kind, the fact that he marched off stating " Goodbye" tells me the police officers are failing at their task to of protecting the Guard and allowing assinine behavior to take place. Step in up officers, these tourists are making a mockery of you.
Well, he'll be punished for leaving his post, if that's what he did. Rules are rules. The irony of the Guard needing guards is not lost on me. The Guard aren't guarding anything, they are merely a ceremonial decoration. Just sayin'.... I wonder if, in 200 years time, they'll have Guards in the form of that bearded numpty toting the M4 standing where the Guard was just now, with some Robocop to protect them. 🤔
@@shaynejenkins446I bet you they are more useful than you, since you most likely don’t even have a job!! It’s difficult to take you seriously when you don’t even know how to spell……🤷♀️🙄🙄

@@oz_mediasfor what? What do they guard? Go be a policeman or a war soldier somewhere. Wtf are they doing guarding a dead Monarchy thats barelly in power
I really think most of the tourists have no idea that these men are working military. They think all they do is stand around in ‘funny’ outfits. They need educating off the premises!
@@DMGamanda Probably because of the guards ancient garb that today is a costume. No one thinks they are going to protect anyone with the helmet, gloves, swords, thigh high boots etc. They can barely walk. Maybe that's why. Not to mention they sell little toy soldier souvenirs at the kiosks right there in the courtyard. Just a guess.
99% of these tourists seem to believe these guards and their horses are present for their entertainment. How can you be so ignorant and not educate yourselves as to the history and purpose of these guards? The disrespect is revolting. The stupidity is astounding.
To be frank, their security role is dead, and has been for a long time. They ARE a tourist attraction. The stupidity of people to think they retain any security function is itself astounding.
What exactly did anyone do? I’ve watched this thing five times, and yes…they’re a crowd of people, as there always seems to be, but how in fresh hell has anyone been so “disrespectful that they should be ashamed of themselves “ (your words; not mine)?
@2AFARXDEUX because all the people do is gawk at these guards like they're some sort of attraction. They are on duty and their boundaries should be respected. They're not there for the crowds amusement, it's very disrespectful
I support the guard, I have seen now about two dozen of these videos and find the majority of people show no respect to the guards o4 the horses etc. I think the royals need to address it, maybe keep guards inside for awhile, sometimes you have to take away the privileges for you to receive the respect you deserve. Oh with pay of course!
More accurate to say that the majority of people in videos posted on line show no respect. If you watched a 24-hour stream, you'd see the vast majority showing respect. Also, you can't cloister the guards as they need to be out guarding. They aren't decorations and they aren't there simply for the tourists.
There use to be a lot more royal guards at the various palaces around london. But the majority are either gone or behind locked gates. A lot changed after the cowardly murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby. I was in the fire service back then and they told us to avoid going around in uniform whilst off-duty. (To and from work, for example).
These soldiers take part in ceremonies like the trooping of the colour and standing guard at Horse Guards, but it’s all for show. “The royals” really don’t get involved in the way they are deployed.
The cop was a little late on saying anything. People know he's a real cop and still have no respect just like they know the guard is real they just don't care.
That cop often is I think unless I got him mixed up with another with beard. Not my favourite. He only said anything at all because the guard did. Some great officers there but some of them need a kick up the posterior.
Yet-the government sets up this situation. If they shouldn’t be close to the horses, put a line down & don’t allow it. All of this chaos could be solved so easily, but they don’t. Do the horses get to run after their shifts? No. All are being mistreated for a bit of pageantry.
Not to worry. Just inside the barrack area, is a muster room with fully kitted up and over armed, highly trained soldiers. If there was any form of attack, they would deploy in seconds and give any aggressor reasons to rethink their life choices!!

They are just for show, why do you think he has a blunt sword instead of a loaded rifle with spare magazines? The no respect is from the freaks that put soldiers in that position to decorate their property.
I’ve watched this guard for a little while. He is very tolerant, but, when he has enough of the mocking, disrespectful behavior, he will get right in the person’s space and raise his voice enough for them to know he means business. He is not a shouter. That’s not his personality. Disrespectful fools are just that. You can’t change them. I guarantee, they treat others in society the same way. They’re not worth straining your vocal cords for.
They should of did something a long time ago. This is ridiculous! The behavior of these people is unbelievable. I feel sorry for the guards and the horses. I couldn't do this job that's for sure.
That's why I feel tours should be stopped altogether because got no respect for guards on duty always taunting them and the poor horses . people need to start respecting these wonderful people who are doing their job and stop taking the p . massive respect all the guards you need a big pay rise or medal for putting up with all the rubbish from tourists
I don't understand why people are so disrespectful... I remember when I was there as a tourist, I did not see that type of behavior. Do people now think that they are at the zoo? Poor guard!
The brownerr the town the shittier the place and sadly London is becoming a very Brown town. That's not a popular thing to say but that doesn't make it untrue look at the 10 most violent cities in the United States and you'll find that 8 out of 10 are black majority cities and the other two have slightly less than black majorities for a frame of reference blacks make up 13% of the population. As long as information like that is swept under the rug I explained away or blamed on others it won't get better
These guards are not standing there for fun they are real guards for the royal family on duty.Tourist and visitors are treating them like zoo animals that is so rude and annoying to deal with people like that day in and day out.
Y porque no los ponen a cuidar adentro y cierran el paso al turismo, y así ya no los molestan. Porque estar ahí en ese cuadro chiquito y con su caballo es una burla y si parece que es para que los estén viendo como atractivo turístico.
If the Royal Palace wants to keep some nostalgic tradition, respect their officers & horses enough to not put them through this! Their own government is to blame for setting them out like Disney characters! All could be fixed if they only set a boundary further away. When I’ve seen soldiers in ANY other country, they aren’t standing there dressed in Bicentennial costumes ready for people to pose for photos! Do people go up to the soldiers with guns in Mexico, laughing & waiting for a photo? This scenario is self created, and sweet young men & horses will deal with long term repercussions.
It's absolutely disgraceful, this is an English custom that has gone on for hundreds of years. What right have non British people got to come here and ridicule them. I'm sure they have customs and traditions they can ridicule in their own countries.

Respect the Royal guards. No one is allowed to be rude or disrespectful to Royal guards. Police must get involved much more to protect the Royal guards and control the crowds & people. For example police can financially fine those who are trying to be rude to Royal guards.
For those of you who think this is a fairly recent phenomenon, allow me to tell you this: 20 years ago when my son was nearly 8, I took him and a friend for a really nice day out to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square. We had so much fun that we didnt want it to end. So, after finding a telephone box and asking the mother of my son's friend if I could bring him home a little later, we decided to take a stroll down Whitehall to have a quick look at Horseguards Parade where the then Queens Guards were. As usual there were throngs of tourists outside, but as we drew closer our cheer from earlier quickly began to dissappear. The largest group of tourists by far was a group of American High School kids who were being extremely raucous, unbelievably disrespectful to my country and our way of life here and very verbally abusive to the Guard on duty. At the back of the group were 3 "adults" (they were all much, much older than the kids, but NONE of them could honestly be described as adult). These were the american teachers, 2 male, 1 female, who were standing laughing and hooting at what their charges were doing and saying, and doing absolutely nothing to at least get them to calm down a little. We stood there watching this poor soldier for a while, and I began to seethe. I come from a huge military family, going back for generations before "America" even existed, and when these foul mouthed, back-woods, arseholes upset my young son and his friend with their lack of regard for anyone other than themselves I am embarrassed to say I completely lost it. I dont remember most of what I said at first, which was a good thing as according to my very shocked young son there were many expletives involved. What I do remember is giving EVERYBODY in the crowd a very loud but much needed history lesson and an explanation that 90% of these guards are actively serving soldiers who risk their own lives to fight for the rights of disrespectful idiots. Once I had silenced the teenagers I rounded on their teachers and told them that if they couldnt control a group of 30 or so kids, how on earth did they expect any of those same kids to have the potential to go on and lead an entire country? Soon afterwards they all left....funny that! My now grown up son remembers that day with fondness, and tells me he has never been so proud.
As an American I completely respect you for that. You're absolutely right about your country and I've always been quite fascinated with Britain. The monarchy has truly stood the test of time and I love your beautiful culture. I would've loved to have met the queen. What an honor it must be for all your fellow citizens who were able to shake her hand. It's disgusting to see all of the comments which say "if they don't like it then find another job or that they signed up to be mocked and disrespected". It just shows the level of immaturity our society is dealing with. What you saw those Americans doing is exactly apart of the reason why America has gone down hill. I used to be proud of my country but the level of insanity happening now is so disappointing. I'm glad you stood up foe the soldiers who risk their lives. Americans are largely an embarrassment even unto themselves although many don't see it.
I'm gonna guess the guy with the rifle strapped his chest and all kitted-out is probably gonna do more to protect the palace and royals than the dude with the funny hat and sword...
