Thank you for sharing this .video....my two girls have grown up & studying in university....the most nostalgic memories my children have is their dussara holidays in mysore .. l am a Christian but liked to watch all ceremonies & celebrations during pooja holidays....early morning climbing up to Nandi hills . My children enjoyed .mysore zoo visits ... vising mysore Palace to see the decorations especially the lightings...eating authentic food ...shopping for mysore handlooms husband enjoyed variety of sweets from mysore ... ..visit to vrindavan Garden...& night fireworks .....what a culture ......years have passed we live abroad ...still if we have 3 days to spare l prefer to travel to mysore ....
My grandfather was health inspector in mysore in this period ,my grandma used to tell me the experience of watching this dasara,iam blessed to see this now.
May the sprit of Mysore royal family live on today and tomorrow and all'ways..they have done so much for our Mysore and bringing our city on world map.
the coverage is far far better than the present day coverages,where in only politicians are shown and boring.All animals and chariots are not shown,public go to watch them and not the politicians .
There is lot of difference blw present Dasara and 1925 Dasara.., camels and bulls such a huge one.. police marching.., ppl are standing very close to palace enternance.., important thing is no one is in hurry or in rush.. they knew wre they are. Thanks to those who took time to post in RU-vid.

Looks very grand. The dasara celebrations under the control of British and the Mysore royal family were much cleaner and better organised keeping in mind the glory and royalty of the royal family and it's traditions. Today it looks like a hopeless mess with a large number of unknown people walking next to the elephants and the yuvaraja himself. It's unique royal charm is gone.
