As we see Elizabeth and Margaret as people and not as royals we see how truly beautiful they are. It's such a tragedy that Elizabeth had to lose her sister at such a young age. I'm sure that wherever Margaret is she likely watches over her sister and her family. As does their parents. The royals are beautiful people when you look past their monarchy status !. Margaret was the beauty of the family. It is so sad to see them growing old in this short space of time. Makes you realise life is over in a blink of time yet people waste so much of it in wars.

Beautiful Video. I love to see the love The Queen has for her sister, as she looks at her so lovingly in each picture. Its one of the rare relaxed loving moments as her guard is down and all you can see is the love one sister has for the other. They loved each other very much you can see that. It brought tears to my eyes, and one can see The Queen really misses her sister and her mother.
Great video, but sad. Apparently The Queen and Princess Margaret were extremely close, even after the accession. With all the formalities though, one would never know that. But interviews with Royal Family members have indicated that The Queen really misses her sister a lot.
The thing is, people have to remember the atmosphere the Queen and Margaret were brought up in. With WWII happening they were sent out to Windsor. They were essentially barricaded in the castle. No public schooling etc. The two of them were the only two that each other could be equals to, and really the only friend the other one had at times in their lives. Much more complicated than just being sisters. Charles and his siblings went to schools to congregate with people their own age.

I feel like princess Margaret wanted a little more time with queen Elizabeth as just them two but the queen started the next step in her life and got married and had Charles and in the picture of the queen holding Charles with Phillip and Margaret her face says it all, i see people commenting how much the queen loved Margaret but to me Margaret loved Elizabeth so much more and it was hard for her to have to share her with Phillip and the world
No matter the status of a person in this life. What matters is the lessons learned through those tough years and, the end result as we come to the end òf this existence. I believe that this life is a "testing" period for us all and that we take our wisdom with us when we pass. We are, all of us Spiritual Beings having a human experience. One day, we will return to God, to Source and be reunited with those we truly love. And then we may begin again until reaching perfection which will mean we no longer need repeat the cycle on earth. I believe Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret's relationship went sour the day Princess Elizabeth became the Queen.Gone were the care free days of sisterly love.Appointments had to be made so that Margaret could fit into the Queens schedule.

@@brookehanley3659 No one with brain would let their sisters marry their groomers. Princess Margreat and peter Townsend 1st meet when she was 14 and peter was in to his 30's married with 2 children. Few months later they started dating. In 1960 peter in to his mid 40's married to 19 years old Margreat's look alike. I know Elizabeth also met philip when she was 13 and he was 17 but only she had crush on since then but they started dating in 1943 Christmas when Elizabeth was 4 months away from her 18th birthday and philip was 22 years old.
During their stay at the different homes during the war the girls were fortunate to have a wonderful governess ,Marion Crawford ' Crawfie' saw that the girls belonged to Guides and Brownies, they took dance classes and invited the children of the workers of the estates to belong.They even went for swimming lessons.The girls did a Christmas pantomime for their parents for several years and even charged family and friends to watch, the money raised went to their grand mothers wool fund.

I've read that Margaret resented the Queen for not allowing her to marry Peter Townsend. And she felt betrayed by Prince Philip, because she supported his marriage to the Queen when there was some question about whether she'd be allowed to marry Philip, but he is campaigned viciously against the marriage of Margaret to Townsend.

I still don't undersand why the Royals found 'Crawfies' personal insight into their lives bad enough to dismiss her after working for them for 16 years as the girls governess.She was banished never to be seen again. I never read anything untowards regarding any members of the firm.
