I used to be at school with Stéphanie. I am so proud of her. She looks so pretty, smart and happy. And Guillaume seems to love her so much. I am so glad for them.

That's the way it use to be. For the Catholic Church, in old days, only religious marriages counted, so, the reason for a day before civil ceremony, was for the papers of the contract to be signed. Some nobles still do it in old fashion way. A way to saparete civil from religious matters. If any of them were divorce, the Catholic Church wouldn't marry them, the catholics do not accept divorce ... still ...

Just because they "dominate the scene" doesn't make them the best. They certainly aren't the classiest for sure. You will never see Guillaume and Stephanie hopping around naked on some patio, they are TRUE Royalty.

Actually the Luxembourg royals have more practical authority over their little country than Queen Elizabeth has over England...Her power is mostly theoretical, and it's really the PM that runs the roast, they even write her speech to parliament, and she has no choice but to read it.
