This is the Royal Orchestra of Seville, although at the time it was called Seville Symphony Orchrstra. (They should list the Orchestra under the music). It got the Royal title because of performing at the wedding. I know this because I was playing in it. That’s me on 1st trombone. :-) it was an amazing day and beautiful wedding. The infanta and Spanish Royal Family were far more sincere and genuine than our British Royals at the time. At one point, as she walked up the isle, Infanta Elena turned and waved at the Orchestra giving us a huge smile. Imagine the Brit Royal Family doing that! Even today. I couldn't understand a word that was said, but I watched the whole thing! Just the beauty of the cathedral, and the amazing music made it so I didn't want to change to a different video! It's also very educational in a sense! HRH kind of reminds me of how Janis Joplin looked! I don't know if they're still married or not, but if they are I wish them many more happy years together!
My mum wore a mantilla and a beautiful decorative Spanish comb for her wedding 70+ yrs ago, my mum is not Spanish but she has the most beautiful name NIGIA CONSTANCE, if i had a little girl i would have had NIGIA as part of her name.

The bridal couple looked very elegant and the bride's removal her train seems like something more brides should adopt. It seems a shame that the Archbishop and other celebrating clergy did not wear vestments more in keeping with the grandeur of the occasion, especially given the magnificent collection of vestments in the cathedral's sacristy. One thing that might have been appropriate for the ceremony would have been some music by Spanish composers. The opening piece which seems an odd choice was one of the coronation anthems written by Handel for the crowing of an English protestant king. Also the use of the Halleluia chorus again by Handel seems like an odd choice not to mention the Jesus bleibet meine Freude by J.S Bach, again a German protestant composer sung in German. Nothing wrong with the quality of the music, I just think that it would have been nice to have a major musical contribution by a Spanish composer.
@@howardgilpin8818 Jesus never forbade the vestments worn by the High Priest in the temple at Jerusalem. I see nothing wrong with observing any event appropriately. When one goes to a job interview, theater, dance or the gym, one should don suitable clothing, I see no reason why a wedding should be any different.

Nice that in the weddings of the infantas the National Anthem (Royal March) was played for the entrance of the brides. After all, the Anthem is always played as a salute to the King when he enters church in a solemn occasion. And the brides have the honor to be led to the altar by the King their father, so the Royal March is played instead of normal wedding music. Not so in the wedding of the Prince of Asturias of course, as his father was not with him. The Anthem was sung when the King entered.

Seeing those Arabs in there, I was reminded of some Arab students who were in downtown San Antonio, TX, when they saw a wedding party centering a Catholic church. I remember watching this wedding live on TV. The orchestra and the choir did not perform throughout the wedding ceremony in the background. Whomever made this video showed great disrespect for the solemnity of the ceremony and the event.
