1:29 no you don’t understand! If she perma dies, I lose access to the paralogue where I can recruit Chad McBigSword, the best character in the game! Plus, her supports are very underrated.
The DQ roast was spot on, they are simple fairy tales for all ages and dont try and kingdom hearts you every turn. Its basically likeable characters in an not entirely unique story (partially because they are holding on to the story progression type which birthed jrpgs). Simple storys written well
Honestly after a while I've honestly come to prefer simple stories written well. If you can keep a simple premise whilst making everything else "deep" you've sold me in an instant. I'm going to use the Heavensward expansion of FFXIV as an example because it's almost as simple as an RPG story gets at its core: Big scary dragon bad, go kill it. But through character interactions both past and present it quickly evolves into a story of corruption, hatred, and deceit without ever becoming - for lack of a better word - obnoxious and pretentious about it. The story beats are still nice and simple to follow, there's just a little extra meat on the bones.
I recently beat DQ11 and honestly I'm still not convinced it isn't fairly generic kid-oriented fantasy. But it's extremely well-written generic fantasy and so the fact that a lot of it isn't completely original doesn't really matter. It's definitely an S-tier RPG (even if, near the end, it does perhaps start to overstay its welcome lol)
@@klop4228 Agreed, it's the JRPG equivalent of a D&D Dungeon Master running a god-tier campaign in the Forgotten Realms setting or a homebrew setting that's just a blatant homage to the fantasy genre.
@@CR1MSONACE bro I know this comment is a joke but still you do not know how much trouble I had on this game as a kid. For one the giant desert tower you had to go up made me so confused and the design was terrible. Also the bowser boss fight was pretty much just bowser with infinite health cause he could heal infinitely while I did like two damage to him. However I did like the wiggler parts.
I somewhat disagree with what this video infers about DQ stories. The traditional medieval-fantasy setting may seem played-out these days, but DQ pretty much pioneered those tropes for JRPGs, and that familiarity is part of the series' appeal. The storylines do tend to be quite basic and the characters are not as complex as other franchises (I'd argue that the stories of VIII-onwards have been a lot more involved, however), but that is by design; DQ is played by pretty much all ages in Japan, so having a story that anyone can follow is quite important. That said, the upcoming DQ XII has been described as a more mature take on the series, so all of what I've said may not apply to that game.
Omori fans explaining why making a 12 year old boy launch a nuke by drinking too much coffee at a bunny for the 300th time is required to beat the game
Wait what nuke? I'd have thought it would be more like: -Omori fans when they brutally murder their sister and hang the body to try to try and have a funny dream(It an Omori reference) -Omori fans when someone asks if they're waiting for something -Omori fans when they see a 16 year old boy launch.himself from a hospital roof( Clothes) -Omori fans when they see a boy with feminine features(they must be protected) -Omori fans when someone orders pizza and it arrives at the house That's the end of the list. I had to compile as many stupid jokes and stereotypes as I could for this.
@@derpfluidvariant0916 You could also do “Omori fans when they meet someone who has depression (it’s an Omori reference): “ or “Omori fans trying to come up with a new joke”
@@derpfluidvariant0916 there’s a strat called the kel nuke where you basically try to make kel’s speed stat as high as possible and then use run n’ gun (which is a move that the damage output is determined by kel’s speed stat, not attack), leading him to deal a fvck ton of damage
as an OFF enthusiast I can indeed confirm that we do go around with baseball bats or grab the nearest one we can find to purify undisciplined children, especially unattended ones
As someone who played all LISA official games, I must say that we love going through endless pixleated tourture so we can get trolled by Austin for the 5798th time
As Fire Emblem I think it's important to note that we're not crying because our Waifu/Husbando died, we're crying because we're gonna have to restart the level for 378th time now
Obviously playing through the game blind the first time of course we will resent the map to make sure we don't lose anyone because we don't know how hard upcoming maps will be but after beating it once and playing it again I'm ok with letting units die if I made a mistake.
Me, finally beating that nasty level at the expense of a few units: "it's fine, sacrifices have to be made sometimes" The next 20 levels being way harder: .-.
As a Pokémon fan it’s very embarrassing when people actually do this over a fictional monster from a series you grew up loving (edit) holy crap this got a lot of likes

Well, it depends what ships we're talking about, for example, the HMS Hood was a great battlecruiser, but its poor performance against the Bismarck grants her only the C rank in my opinion.
As a LISA enjoyer, I must admit it was quite stressful when I lost my party member, Nugget Mcguffin III, in LISA: The Nuggetful, Chapter 1 of (yet to be done, in the last 12 years) 36.

@pripriprintpri Never got told what playing Earthbound was like. Probably because Earthbound fans are too busy rambling about “Earthbound is the greatest RPG known to man and directly contributed to every RPG today!”

As a Deltarune player, I can confirm…. Nothing, I never really cared about or payed attention to ships outside of canon. HOWEVER I can confirm that the fanbase is absolutely bonkers considering that 2,000 (I think?) bags of LITERAL TRASH was sold out within 13 minutes on fangamer. All because it had a mentally unwell puppet on the bag. I love this fandom, it’s great actually
As a Deltarune fan that actually ships things, most of which are non-canon, I swear I don't see a whole lot of discourse? I'm sure it's there, though I've yet to encounter it in the wild. But I also tend to take on the more popular opinions e.i. Suselle, Swatchton, Seamvil. I feel like if anything it would mostly be discourse for Kris ships, and honestly I have no strong opinions on any of them. However I am QUITE aware of the Undertale ships problem. I prefer not to touch that with a ten-foot pole. Let me have my Alpdyne and I'll be on my way.
@@Frickerdoodle AGREED, I remember a LOT of Undertale shipping discourses but deltarune for the most part has been tame with that kind of stuff. Tbh I’m surprised this video didn’t mention anything about the genocide and snowgrave routes considering how messed up they are.
