Part of my STFM motherboard series.
My STFM is merely a motherboard. I've added a Gotek drive emulator, a new PSU, bus pull-ups and an accelerator, but I don't have a keyboard (and therefore mouse or joystick port).
Step up FieldOfCows' Raspberry Pi Pico-based IKBD emulator. Originally intended to replace a broken external keyboard on a Mega ST, it will work just as well on a STFM, STE or Falcon. Let's see how we get on.
To program the Pico, simply hold down the BOOTSEL button and connect to your PC. Most OSs will now present you with a virtual drive. Copy the atari_ikbd.uf2 file onto this drive. The Pico will instantly reboot and unmount itself. That's it.

I have often thought there is a gap in the market for a replacement keyboard on the ST. I develop using Hatari and it is just not the same using a PC keyboard. I have not seen a replacement but surely a PCB with some cherry switches then add in the Raspberry Pico, key caps could be an issue if there is no donor keyboard so 3D print some maybe? Alternatively add a USB port on the side of the ST so you could swap between the real ST keyboard and a USB one (obviously a switch and maybe some logic chips to swap the required data lines). At some point space becomes a problem inside the ST/e. Nice project though David.

What is the benefit of your space age power supply vs the original ST power supply? I love your video's

Trying to avoid killing the components on the. Motherboard. In one of my videos my monitor stopped responding to key presses and locked up. That’s a dried up power supply. Don’t want it to happen to the STs and especially my Falcon. Videl chip is particularly prone to voltage spikes.
