Very nice indeed! I remember this loco so well and worked for GNR in G.V.S. station briefly in 1957, prior to merchant navy and moving to Australia in 1965. Cheers.

Merlin may be fine, but in my eyes, the Finest Locomotive in Ireland is GSR No.461, the Last Surviving Inside cylinder 2-6-0 in the isles

It's an ex-BR Mark I generator van :) It powers the steam heating and electricity on the carriages :)

The RPSI trains, as far as I'm aware, always use them :) The Mk II carriages run with a "Dutch" Van, big boxy thing, not a huge fan if it myself :)

very interesting info,i had only seen one once before painted yellow and i assumed it was something to do with network rail, i had no idea they were used for that purpose thanks :-)
