Indian's are very good at VFX, but the Indian movies don't have good VFX because 60-70% of movie budget goes to actor's salary. So studio delivers what they are paid for. Soon this will change and VFX will be like Hollywood standards.

I don't think so, as if hollywood movie's budget goes to production, Daniel Craig took nearly $100M to do james bond, and many big and famous heroes demand big checks in hollywood for their movies.

Thanks a lot guys! Just as a fact-check, we switched to blender after the police station episode, but used a port of the Cycles renderer for the 3ds max rendering in the police station ep; the t-junction was 80% blender, with the crowd being 3ds max and tyflow with the same rendering pipeline as the police station. It was our first major “sink or swim” moment and it paid off. There was very little blood augmentation in the whipping scene due to censor - if you go too much, then you’re pushing an A-certificate. There was only one digital whip shot added which was one of NTR’s back before the song starts.

Great episode! I discovered Indian cinema around 15 year ago, and watched over 300 movies. Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, I hope now the DOP gets more recognition. He gave a great talk at IBC 2019 in Amsterdam, I was really surprised no one knew him and the room was almost empty!

Nobody gonna tell but the substance of the movie are taken from Ramayan. It has inspired scene in 300, Avengers, Harry Potter. A japanese made an animation movie on the story of ramayan. The legend of Prince Ram. The movie is available on RU-vid.

Just wooooow While watching the film I had noticed many hidden visual effects shots but when i went in search of the studios i found most of them were from India based which have only 12 to 16 VFX artists. No big teams. But All of them are Multi talented. VISUAL EFFECTS INDUSTRY in India is growing and the Quality too. The Past Bollywood films had Portait Our Country's History in false narrative way which will be corrected by directors like SS Rajamouli Sir and Many others. Waiting for the Part 2 .

I think you guys should Try *Bahubali 1 and 2* by the same director, do know that Rajamouli is James Cameron for India cinema. If you like this, then you go on to watch *eega* by Rajamouli (if story is your king and somehow you don't get too bothered by low production costs) And my final recommendation will be *3 Idiots*

I liked Brahmastra in Imax, great visual look, but way too much, and very bad pacing and story. RRR has amazing build up, where not much is happening, so the action moments are mind blowing. Brahmastra is almost constant action vfx, so much that I don't care about it anymore.... the opening scene was the best part.

Most VFX in Hollywood is made by Indian companies and Indian artists. Indian directors generally don't have that kind of investment since advertising and star cast takes away a lot of money. But, let's hope there is a positive change!

Yes RRR is a Major hit and glad to see it's getting the reckgonisation world wide... Funny how tables have changed here in India. Bollywood Hindi movies were king here and Tollywood/South Indian movies were mostly seen by others(non south Indian population of India) as goofy over the top films.. But here's the thing they kept on experementing and honed their craft and are proving to be better cinema compared to Bollywood now. It's sad to see how Bollywood has almost fell down and has resorted to creating Re-make of films or literally coppying Hollywood and Tollywood and that too not sucessfully be it storytelling or vfx film making in general. I hope Bollywood wakes up and starts creating good content instead of just trying to make it work on Star Power(Popularity of actors) I guess that era is almost gone. Recent Box office faliurs of majority of Bollywood films is a proof and hopefully eyeopeners to Bollywood producers. Hope they learn good lessons from Tollywood and how Bahubali, RRR, Pushpa etc have become huge entertainer films crossing the boundry's of language. P.s Really cool reaview as aways Hugo and Ian :)

18:01 Sri Ram is an avatar of God! Read about Ramayana. Sri Ram is an avatar of Lord Vishnu and Mata Seeta is his wife who is an avatar of Maa Laxmi, wife of Lord Vishnu...Sri Hanuman(avatar of Lord Shiva) is his greatest devotee. The movie is symbolic in that context with Bheem representing Lord Hanuman(one of his name in Hanuman Chalisa, whose rendition is India's most watched video on RU-vid) carrying Sri Ram on his shoulders and Raju and Seetha representing Ram and Sita. The Murthi(westerners have the Abrahamic phobia, so they call it "statue") from whom clothes and weapon is taken from is of Lord Ram. Also, Lord Ram's main weapon is mystic bow and arrow and the high energy Sanskrit chant as the background music running during the last fight scene with the British police in the forest is partly attributed to Sri Ram, the king of Raghu Clan who is again scion of Ikshvaku, ultimately descending from Sri Vaivaswata Manu(son of current Solar Diety Surya Vivaswana and on whose name current Manvantara is based upon) of the solar lineage from whom the words "Man" in English and "Manushya" in Hindi derive from, and whose story of the great flood (where he along with the 7 saptaRishis/Sages were saved by the Matsya Avatar of Lord Vishnu) was later adapted by others. Seetha meets Bheem in or around a temple of Sita Ram and the necklance exchange is directly picked from Ramayana but done in an opposite manner from the real story.

Most of the big budget Hollywood cgi is done in India by Indian vfx studios /companies but u don't see that cause our movies spend less on vfx it's not that we don't have that capabilities. 😄 loved the discussion.

If it's a marketing and paid promotion then it's fair but if it's your review then it's extra appreciating. Because nowadays business is so cut throat competition that everyone playing with so called money 💰 power. if you say the VFX is bad they argue that budget is low and if you Praise them it's like boosting the people how don't know the behind the scenes people artist and every single outsourcing production company putting there more then 100+ years of experience. To lift Indian films. Of course, the direction is tight because of him India is moving more into big massive production. It's a limelight situation in Indian cinema but many people use the advantage of it for business purposes. ✌️🤘🙌🏻🤙🙈😜🔥 It's a big monopoly on India and politics in the artist field, sports, everyone is political and has personal opinions open world ✌️😀😂 I like the VFX supervisor he started his career from ground wedding films to like this giant film. its a south indian film it is not we are accustomeed to hero taming an animal but we often (i mean very often) come across real stories of an entire village or sometimes set of men bonding with predatory animals. which untill seen with ur own eyes through television sounds bonkers and unbelievable. so a man controlling animal who is from a poor village is not far fetched from reality in iindia

But guys please watch only those movies which are highly recommended. Indian cinema churns out garbage movies too especially bollywood. My recommendation will be the recent movie "kantara". It's a low budget movie and there is no vfx but it's awesome. You can check it out. We should encourage low budget movie which packs a punch.

Even RDJs 80 million fees is justified to the profit that these movies make. Indian actors take almost 60-70% of the money of a movie. Hence we have pathetic VFX .
