Great video David. I too love the shirt! Looks like you grabbed some great lp's for you both to enjoy regardless of missing out for your bestie! I've purchased many albums based solely on cover art. Hit and miss...but always love it. My next RSD will be my first. But one day...maybe. 😊 Enjoy your records. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
I like the exploratory nature of it and if it is bad, you still got the art. I hope you can experience it once. It’s fun. It can be way overrated, but it’s still fun.
Nice vinyl finds for RSD. That Jerry Garcia figure is cool. Thanks for sharing and I hope your husband enjoys that Wonder Woman LP. It's not one I would have bought. 😆
Nice haul! It's so cool that your shop gives out a free item! I didn't pick up any RSD releases but found Chet Baker's "Albert House" and a Dave Brubeck vinyl that I didn't have called "The Dave Brubeck Octet." Enjoy your tunes!
Very cool group of records dig that James Bond Thunderball, glad you had a good RSD, just gave you a sub, great channel, I mainly talk rock vinyl on my channel and post a few concert clips, thanks again for sharing, Peace!
It was really crowded at my store and I didn't go until around 11:00. The Cris Isaak was gone at both stores that I went to and it was one that interested me. I love some of those covers. I do have the Thunderball album. Happy listening.
I got 300% Dynamite, The Beat, Schooly D & Kristin Hersh. I refuse to queue. I went in after a tasty lunch & still got some bangers! I mainly had a chat with the owner who I've known for years. I can just imagine you stalking the Gandalf dude in the store 😂There's something I love that you go for artwork above all else with records. It must really annoy some VC people 😂
I’m a stalker! Art all the way - I have a pretty crappy stereo set up right now and can’t afford an update. The one in our living room is actually way better but I don’t use it as often as hubby does. It’s smart to go after the crowds but I do enjoy lining up as long as it’s not too long.
Hey David. Nice that you got to go to RSD. I sort of kept an eye after Dead or Alice since you mentioned it. Nada. I get the feeling that UK RSD stuff don’t make it here as much. And I think that was one of those. Hey, cool Sun Records logo! I don’t know Gandalf the band. Curious now! I cane across a swiss… Krautrock (?) or psych rock album I now want in a VC’ers video. Krokodill. Pretty music. Love the cover with the flying car. Ah, the badass jewish princess ❤ I also remember battleship yamato. Could you imagine a German childrens show called Battleship Bismark? 😲 Nice art on the unknown japanese one (with the OBI). Oooh, MY… that Thunderball is AMAZING! That is my favorite Connory movie. Awww… We didn’t get a Jerry Garcia! Reminds me, I forgot to look for Screaming Trees… I don’t think they had it. Wow, no grunge today. I also wanted Astrud Gilberto and… too much! 😄
The beard is looking ever-mightier, GG! I must admit, I've never actually bothered with RSD myself, mainly because the queues - and the prices - always put me off. That said, there's usually a few releases I'm interested in, and some can be picked up later on at decent prices, so I have done that a few times. There were a few this time I'll be keeping an eye out for - needless to say, Chris Isaak is not one of them! 😜 Cheers! 🤘
Great stuff. I would have bought that Goodbye Yamato album and the Kitaro album. I listened to the Best of Kitaro which had some of the tracks on that "Ki" album all of the time. Also I think you should watch the video Space Cats Invade Ginza 6, I think you would like that art.
@@garagegeek4863 it was a copy of the original, with only 3 tracks.. I think you’re referring to the deluxe, that has an introduction ( in French if I remember right).. I had that on CD a long time ago. I usually buy 90s Hip Hop, but I was feeling this one today.
I wanted to go, but no one messaged me. I watched a live stream of RSD all day cause I have no life. Also one store had the owner die and that would leave one other store. And of course I didn't know about a new store until 1/2 the day was toast. I wanna say last time I got Proclaimers and a couple cheapos off the internet after Saturday of course. I really have to travel a ways to get any kind of chance.
If it’s too far, it’s not worth it. I don’t need a Chris Isaak album that much that I’d drive four hours. Better to buy it for a bit extra and have it shipped.
You can hear the full Gandalf lp on YT. You may like it or not. I do as I'm a pretty big prog fan. You should have just picked up the guy's album, and made off with it. :)
@@garagegeek4863 I did that once at a Good Will. A guy was looking around and put some stuff behind him on a rack. I didn't know if he was planning on buying it or what. He kept on looking furiously. So I just got it and took it to the front to buy. I laughed so hard about that. It would have been priceless to see him turn around and go WTF?
I'm glad the stores get so much traffic for RSD, it just isn't for me. Standing in line is my least favorite thing and they usually don't have much I would consider buying. Sorry that jerk took your Gandalf!
Full Moon Story is a Kitaro album. We have it on cassette. I do RSD through watching everyone else do it. An 8 hour drive to the closest participating store is no way. I got 3 albums in today's mail. Total price with postage $22. A $5 dent and dinged cover sale. I don't see any dents or dings. Happy spinning!
That’s how I’d do it too if I were far from a record shop. I walked to mine so I’m very lucky (or not since I spent a bundle!). Will you do a dent haul video???
@@garagegeek4863 I bought Gandalf this morning from the Jackpot Records of Portland OR website. I got an email today about RSD records and there it was. Maybe you can still get it.
