First time in a couple years, I am actually looking forward to a Record Store Day. I have really enjoyed watching the other #vc do their takes on this years list and wanted to contribute and continue the conversation.

I haven't been out to record store day in years. I can't remember the last time there was a release I really wanted. Plus I'm done standing in long lines with these vinyl "new-jacks". Oh, and for the record, violence and theft is always the answer when it comes to record digging. I firmly stand with you and support your methods. You are an inspiration sir, I salute you.

I feel every point you make there on RSD. I would mostly agree, too - I buy almost all my vinyl online nowadays. Just hate missing out on something and then it gets to the aftermarket and people want way more than I'm willing to pay so I just end up never getting it. I feel better if I at least try. I'm glad for the support on my violent collecting methods ;) Sometimes I got to show these kids that I ain't playing.

Check out “The Bodysnatchers” EP on RidingEasy Records. Remastered from the band’s 1978 release. Austin’s first recorded punk band. Great songs, powerful sound. Recorded and mixed live to 2tk analog tape at Pecan St. Studios.

The comb opening! 😂I remember The Mighty Lemon Drops. That Ramones thing looks interesting. I actually saw them live in Ottawa back in the summer of /87! Some local punk band called Grave Concern was the opener. I can't believe I remember the name of the opening band! I have a copy of that Trash Can Sinatras on compact disc from many years ago. That Willie Nelson looks great!

Once again, very enjoyable video. Not really someone who enjoys the RSD crowds and I don't partake much on that particular day, but there is some stuff that I want so you never know. Ramones would be good to have, and would be interested in the Bowie, Fun Boy Three and Ian Hunter releases on the RSD list. Although I don't really need one, having a cane would be helpful for crowd navigation as well 🙂. Don't know where you are in PA (SW PA here, outside Pittsburgh) but if I see you in any of the shops I'll be sure to say hello. You seem like a cool guy. Also, thanks for the link to the Sister Rosetta video. It always cracks me up to see her wailing away and kicking butt on guitar, while dressed like my mom used to do when she would go to church on Sunday mornings.

Aw man, I'm in Southern Central PA. I do need to hit up Pittsburgh for record stores soon, I usually spend all my money at Eide's on comic books when I'm in town. I'm grateful for the kind words, Gerry - thanks for watching!

I enjoyed that! Just stumbled across your channel and subbed up. I’m on the fence about that Horace Andy release. I’m hoping to pick up Prince Buster though. And a couple of the soul jazz comps. That will pretty much blow my budget. IF my local carries any of it.

That's the trick, I don't have a "regular' record store where I live now and no relationships with the guys that own them so they aren't really asking me what they should order. I have a feeling it'll be just grab what I can, I might get lucky and find half or less of the ones in the video but I just love talking about records.

I'm quite excited about it, it feels good. Seems like I've been collecting records in a vacuum lately so it will be nice to be amongst other collectors for a bit.

Cool, one more dude who has no interest in the HIGLY limited, first time on vinyl, UL "Blue Room" LP! I guess I should only be concerned about it in my area (Ventura Cty, CA) since theys a SO-CAL band , yet didn't leave enough of a mark in the new skool community for anyone else to care about it. I could care less about their later releases...but this one has always been important to me!!

Then again, this is one of less than a handful of releases that I've wanted to see be released on a (official) vinyl format. There have been a couple releases from RSD that have met this personal desire....mainly GREEN JELLY's "333" and now UL's "Blue Room". Still hoping for a reissue of MEGADETH's "Countdown To Extinction", JULIE RUIN's "(S/T)" and TOOL's " Ænima".

I hear you on the Unwritten Law, I was lucky enough to see them a few times as an opener for bigger bands in SoCal in the mid-90's - always solid. Shit, I might have to look for that record now, too. I think we are ALL waiting on some kind of official re-release of 'Aenima", Tool has been ridiculous dicks about it for too long now.
